"Fine, basic but comfortable rooms. Check-in experience could be improved."
Very clean. Excellent shower. Very comfortable bed. Handily located to wedding venue and road network. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly.
Check-in procedure: reception not manned all the time, a sign tells guests to go to bar to find check-in person, but bar staff took 5-10 minutes to appear and no bell to draw their attention to me so couldn't check-in or order a drink to 'kill time'. Once staff had appeared, service was fine.

"The hotel is beautifully situated on the banks of the River Wyre with picturesque views from the front bedrooms and dining room. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. Food in the bar/restaurant was delicious and there was plenty of choice at breakfast. The premises appeared to be newly decorated and were clean and tidy."

Staff were great, the views were fantastic, the room was very nice. Bed was comfy, and breakfast very good. Hotel had a modern feel to it - wood floors and all that.

Excellent food. The room was very good with a great view. Staff were very friendly.
Noisy positon of the room. There was a staff stair entrance and this was used al the time by staff, both in the day and during the early hours of the morning and the slamming of the door woke me often both night we stayed.

Hotel really good. Food and standard excellent
The room we stayed in 5 was right by door at top of stairs.Doors was being opened and self closing until very late. I think this was just a poroblem with room 5.Also walls in this room very thin, could hear conversations etc.in next room VERY clearly!!Possibly other rooms were better. Alsono blinds in this room, and as it was right by reception, we couldnt have curtains open,as people could see in.Noticed all other rooms had blinds or voiles. Perhaps room 5 is the duff room!

Wifi was a bit hit & miss, I was given a cable which worked just fine, and wireless was sorted. Hotel having major works at present, new top floor being installed.

Very good location and value for money. The resturant food was of an execellent standard. The room was a good size overlooking the river.
The resturant staff can get very stressed if they are busy and can come across as being a bit abrupt.

"On arrival, the receptionist said we had a room with a 'back alley' view. I pointed out on that on the booking form which I printed it said we had a riverview. She said that seeing as we had a discount rate she wasn't prepared to give us a full river view room, but we could have a side view room. I would go again but would phone first to see we were not only eligible for a back alley view room, despite what the web site says."

"The overall impact was good. The decoration was particularly welcoming and relaxing. The food quality was inconsistent and one dish was bland and uninteresting. We did not appreciate the junior staff noisily laying up for breakfast when diners were only on the main course of their dinner."
The refurbishment has been done well and the food was acceptable.

"The room was noisy when I arrived as there was a party going on in the bar. The corridor has laminate flooring so people arriving and departing can be noisy. On the plus side the view was stunning and the selection of food limited, which shows it is not mass produced, but excellent. First hotel I have stayed in with freeview and wi-fi - very useful."
