"Stay uneventful and pleasant. Tried to minimise use of towels by leaving on rails as requested but kept finding new ones every day-nice to have but happy to use same towels over couple days"
Rooms kept clean and tidy. Staff friendly and helpful Courtesy trays nice with the little extras, eg jelly beans
Showers over baths are a problem. It can be hard to climb in and out and when traveling a decent sized shower is all that is needed. Parking a problem

"We enjoyed our stay"
Room service made a few mistakes and you need A/C. With the festival going on it was very noisy on the streets but it got to hot if you closed the windows

"Apart from the unhappy incident and the inadequate ventilation, the hotel is satisfactory."
The hotel is conveniently located. In general, the facilities are very good and the reception staff are very helpful.
In one morning, a cleaning staff just opened the door and entered our daughters' room without waiting for their agreement/response. On noticing his mistake, he just turned away, closed the door but without apologizing. A verbal complaint was lodged with the reception staff but a written reply is outstanding. The ventilation of the rooms are inadequate even on a day where the temperature is under 25 degrees Celsius.

"Fabulous location, the view of the castle from our room was incredible! Great place to stay if you want to explore Edinburgh on foot, and if you enjoy the eclectic mix of shops and eating places that the Old Town has on offer. Lovely facilities and warm staff. We got a great rate online so felt we got real value for money."
Reception staff were friendly, effiecient and accommodating

"was convenient to mostthings, and enjoyed being able to jump on the sightseeing b us right in front of hotel. "
ROOM WAS VERY NICE
PRICE OF BREAKFAST WAS THE HIGHEST WE HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED, DOWNSTAIRS HAS SO MANY TV CHANNELS, VERSUS NOTHING TO SPEAK OF IN THE ROOM. YOU CAN'T EVEN WATCH A NEWS SHOW UPSTAIRS, OR A SPORTING EVENT THAT IS AVAILABLE IN THE BAR. NO REGULATION ON WHO IS USING PARKING GARAGE. WE WERE WIHOUT A PARKING SPACE FOR THE FIRST NIGHT, AS A WEDDING AT THE HOTLE HAD ALL THE SPACES FULL, AND UPON REGISTRATION, THE YOUNG MAN INFORMED US THAT THERE WOULD BE NOTING AVAILABLE UNTIL AFTER MIDNIGHT, AND WE SHOULD PARK AT A PUBLIC LOT THAT WAS HIDEOUSLY EXPENSIVE.

"Nice hotel pluses outweighed minuses which could be generally overcome by more attention to cleaning room and service at check in. Would definately consider staying again if deal offered was good"
Location excellent, amenities very good, bed good and bathroom nice. Central to Edinburgh nightlife
Room not intiially cleaned properly, reception was slow at check in, area noisy esp with road works, no warning re number of steps which could be a problem.

No plug for bath. Lounge area closed for a wedding party however the other bar area we were asked to use was also used by the bride, groom & guests of the making us feel like underdressed gatecrashers!

"This hotel was perfect for this particular business trip as i was entertaining an American colleague. The service was good, particularly when there was a minor issue with his booking, it was dealt with in a timely and professional way. The top floor restaurant was excellent, the view of the castle is what drew my colleague but this was surpassed by the food quality. I will definitely use this Hotel on my next business trip to Edinburgh."

"This is the 3rd time we stayed in the Apex International and we were very happy with our last two visits however the hotel is gone very shabby. Housekeeping is poor. We travel to Edinburgh every year for 2-3 days. I will probably book the Radisson on the Royal Mile for our next visit. The new Spa is overlooking grassmarket. Its not very private as pedestrians can see into the pool area."
Housekeeping is a problem in this hotel. The overall cleanliness of the rooms and corridor areas was poor. Biscuit crumbs on the tea tray from the previous guest, carpet in bedroom was not hoovered after our first night, shower head covered in mildew, shower curtain needs to be replaced as it also had mildew present. Water from the mini bar was not replaced after our first night. Also when we arrived their was a smell of urine in the bathroom.

"Really enjoyed our stay here, rooms were reasonably large with 2 double beds....different! No remote for tv but just a minor niggle. Hotel is in a fantastic location if you don't want to walk too far too the main attractions, castle, grassmarket bars etc. Overall, a great hotel and not bad value for money....except the "
