"The relaxing family break we were hoping for"

Very friendly and welcoming. Staff pleasant and helpful

Unfortunately mistimed the break and coincided with the first turkey and tinsel event of the year! Not a big deal but would have preferred Christmas to have come a little later!!!

    "OK for money and location"

Central Bournemouth location. Polite, helpful staff.

Decor dated, and the carpets could do with a clean. Wallpaper in my room was a bit mouldy, and bathroom needed a really good de-scale.

"as this was a one night stay, it was okay but any longer, we could not have tolorated"

restaurant staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was excellent

when we went to the room allocated 302, with a sea view that was requested, we found that the room had not been cleaned, beds were unmade and used, cold coffee still in caps and dirty wet towels on bathroom floor. We reported this to reception, wher no apology was made but we were then given another room 310, which did not have a sea view, was not as clean as we would have expected and a very tight squeeze between the basin and the radiator in the bathroom neither myself or my daughter are swelt-like, also the radiator was hot and a towel had to be placed so, that we did not burn ourselves

Friendly staff, good breakfast, clean, central location close to the pier and park and Commercial street. Good value for money.

Decoration is dated, on the busy street.

"Premises needs a cleaning overhall not just skimming over the surfaces and masking bad smells with scent.Good value for money if rooms were cleaner."

Reception and dining room staff very pleasent, polite and friendly no fault what so ever with. Staff were wonderful. Breakfast was good and plentiful.

On suite Room smelled of musty/smell mixed with cheap scent or air freshner, reminded of smell of a funeral parlour, I did not sleep all night, my sister did sleep but woke up wheezing has inhaler for infrequent bouts of asthma attacks brough on by various triggers had to use her inhaler felt sufficated by the smell even though we left the window open all night. I checked the pillows as I always do no pillow protectors and all 4 pillows are very very yellow/brown stained so we rolled up our jackets and used as pillows instead as it was late when we returned and no one on reception to complain to.

"Me and my daughter had a pleasant seaside break. Got exactly what we were hoping for. "

Clean Hotel, close to the beach, friendly staff.

I specifically was looking for a hotel where they could put an extra bed for a child into a single room. The booking page stated that they can do it for an extra 10 pound. When I arrived I have been told that it is impossible to do and I had to take a more expensive twin room. We did enjoy it however.

"Staff friendly, room small, on-suite very poor, early breakfast not available. Overall very over priced."

    Staff friendly. Location convenient

Room small. On-suite: old, poor quality and tired fittings, toilet needed a good bleaching and had a noisy pump box attached, shower had mold, two single taps rather than a mixerwith mold surrounding them and around water outlet of cold in sink. I haven't seen lino on the floor in a hotel for a long time! Breakfast did not start until 0800hrs. On requesting early breakfast, 0745hrs was earliest possible.

Staff very eager to please and friendly

Lock on door was old and made it very difficult to open door from inside the room. We reported this on the Saturday morning and it was not dealt with by the time we left on Sunday morning but presumably they could get no locksmith on a weekend.

the location was very good and the staff were very helpful.

the rooms were very cold and the restaurant food was limited and not priced

"The rooms were very old fashionly decorated. The was a severe lack of parking and because of that we didn't move the car for fear of losing our space and we were blocked in. On top of a steep hill, so not suitable for all. For the price of the room, I would have expected more."

Close to the beach and main shopping centre. Rooms were clean and tidy.

It was very noisy, with car alarms, sirens, shouting etc, which didn't die down until 5am, as situated on a main road, so we didn't get much sleep!! The hotel was at the top of a steep hill.

We were very satisfied and would book again if we needed accommodation in the area."

    Close to the entertainment venue.

"I generally think that it is a good hotel if you are just looking for a place were you are going to have breakfast, dinner and sleep but not to spend more time inside it or in your room."

I liked very much both breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was quite complete and the dinner was delicious. I also think people from the hotel were lovely, very kind and made the accomodation more comfortable.

I didn't like that my sheets were not changed in any time. Television could hardly be seen inside the room because of the bad reception and there were just a few channels. The washbasin was out of the bathroom!!!

"Would have been helpful to realise before booking that hotel was at the top of a very steep hill, a killer for my bad back, but was afraid to use car in case parking space was lost as this was very limited. A larger choice of evening meal, and a longer opening period in the restaurant would have been nice, there was only a choice of 3 dishes and it was only open for one and a half hours, although the food was very nice."

Adequate for our needs. Breakfast was excellent.

Hotel far too hot and radiator in room was jammed and would not switch off. Cleaners did not look above head height in room - lots of cobwebs!

"Lovely Hotel, Clean and tastefully decorated, good food and helpful, friendly staff.Car parking available. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to a return visit. I will certainly reccommend this to my friends, but would be a bit hesitant for the disabled because of the steps to the reception area, and the hotel is situated up quite a steep hill from the town centre and the promanade."

Central, clean, good food. friendly staff, value for money.

nothing to dislike about the accomodation, but the area is quite steep for those that are not able to walk up hills easily.

"I did like the hotel, I thought the staff were very nice and the buffet breakfast was good."

The location is good, nice clean comfortable hotel

We asked to move rooms as the first night there was a lot of noise from the room above, the manager was very obliging and immediately allocated us a different room, which actually was much nicer than the first one we had been given, so I'm not sure why we weren't allocated this room in the first place, considering the money that we had paid.

"Generally a very clean hotel and the stay was only for one night. I would not have liked to stay any longer. Poor pressure with the water as we stayed on the top floor, a booster pump is necessary. Not very good reception on the television and a lack of channels also a very small screen. Breakfast was excellant."

    Centrally located. Good Breakfast.

Not enough parking spaces, no water pressure for shower, lack of staff in the evening, Poor reception on the television. All rooms non smoking.

"The staff were friendly, helpful and courteous; it was good to be recognised by name each time one enters the restaurant. The standard of food was very good - a reasonably wide selection of wholesome well cooked dishes. The breakfast was substantial too. The room was comfortable and adequately sized for single occupancy with good ensuite facilities and a very acceptable tea and coffe making facility. However, on a hot night the windows need to be open and the room is then very noisy being adjacent to a busy road. The lighting is somewhat dim. If I had occasion to revisit, I would request a room at the rear of the hotel. The hotel is just minutes' walk away from the West Cliff promenade - it is conveniently situated for reaching the beach or exploring the town centre."

The room had an ensuite bathroom. The bed was comfortable. The premisies were clean and the servicing of the rooms each day was pleasingly efficient.

1 Very noisy - I had not realised that the hotel is at the top of a hill where there is grinding of gears until a late hour! Very little capacity to do any work in the evnings - the dressing table mirror turned through 100 degrees so my laptop could fit unerneathe it. The curtain was nearly of its runner; this was attended to promptly when reported. Lighting: there is a single 40 watt bulb in the ceiling and two lights on the wall by the bed. Sitting at the dressing table-cum-desk to work, one sits with the light behind you so that the working space is in one's shadow. The TV information card suggests about 8 chasnnels are available. The set is mounted very high on the wall and only 4 of the channels BBC1/2/ITV1/Channel 4 appeared to be tuned in.
