Extremely comfortable bed, well equipped, clean, modern room. Quiet - no street noise evident. Modern, spacious bathroom
Surly bar staff in somewhat pretentious hotel bar Bathroom was slightly short on supplies given that 2 people were staying - could have done with more hand towels, moisturiser would be nice too

"Excellent hotel - rooms spacious and very clean. Good location. Only downsside when checking in at hotel reception payment for stay had already been taken via website & hotel tried to take it again. Lot of confusion until I produced my credit card invoice showing it had been paid."

"i have stayed here many times and it was my first choice Hotel when satying over night in Manchester, however ''City One'' will now be my first choice, it is true what they say ''it takes a long time to find a customer and seconds to loose them''. "

breakfast service was a joke, not enough food for the guests, not enough staff to cope with the demand, at one point guests were waiting for plates to eat of. ! i waited 45 minutes to be served coffee in the end i walked out, and complained.

when i informed receptionist that the room didn't have the seperate shower cubicle i'd stipulated that i required, i was quickly and efficiently placed in a room with that facility.
i was informed twice my card was declined upon payment, and then in went through when someone else attempted to put it through first time.

the hotel and service was excellent. The staff were extremely friedly and although bit expensive the staff and cleanliness of the hotel made up for this. I definately would recommend the cocktails, bit pricey but very nice.

"The hotel itself is very nice and represents fair value for money. However the quality of the staff was very patchy. The receptionist when we arrived was first class,the barman a real star.But the cleaners hadn't done a good job in the bedroom and the young man on reception in the morning was hopeless."
The bartender was outstanding. We both had heavy colds and he came to us with a wonderful pick me up that helped make our night. Bar area is also very nice.
Sweet wrappers on bedroom floor. Breakfast in bed delivered late. Person on reception clueless when I asked about check out time and started to talk about British Airways flights!!

"We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a great central location and the facilities are excellent. The staff are so friendly and helpful and really helped to make our stay so enjoyable. The details of the hotel on The Cities Book - Where to Stay in Manchester website were very informative and certainly helped us to make our decision to stay in the Arora, along with the comments on the Trip Advisor website. There is not much that we were not aware of prior to our stay, apart from the extra charges listed above. Overall it was very enjoyable!"
The room was really nice, very clean and spacious, beautiful bathroom. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful in all areas - porters, reception, bar, restaurant.
Having to pay £2 for the use of an ice bucket and two glasses! Also having to pay £10 for internet usage which is usually provided free of charge. I think the £10 charge is excessive especially if you only need to use the service once or twice during your stay for less than half and hour each time.

"The assistance offered by the hotel reception staff, specifically relating to local facilities, restuarants, and shopping was both friendly and extremely helpful. The provision of a guest discount card for the bar, meaning that guests only paid standard bar prices for drinks was particularly of note. In addition the discount arrangement with the local Chorlton Street NCP Car Park was first rate."

"Our stay was superb. The staff were very attentive and friendly. When we arrived at hotel, we were early for check in, but the staff stored our bags, so we could go shopping. This also happened on check out day, as our trains did not leave till the afternoon. My sister and I loved the room. The beds were extremely comfortable!! The breakfast we had in our room was excellent."
The bedroom, was lovely. The bed was so comfortable. We had breakfast in our room, which was excellent.
There was two of us sleeping in room, but there was only one supply of toiletries. Would have liked there to have been two sets!! But to be honest that is just me being a little picky. I can't complain about anything!!!

Barman assumed we were not guests at hotel, told us had to drink up - I know we probably don't look like we can afford a nice hotel, but would prefer to be asked not assumed just there for drink. Cab they called ripped us off to MEN, only discovered this on taking a black cab back and being charged substantially less and a shorter journey - a trick London cabbies use, but would expect firm called by hotel to be above that trick!
