"I probably wouldn't stay there again. Breakfast was not what I expected. Having stayed in similar hotels before at a similar grading I have always been provided with a full english breakfast. On this occasion it was toast, very hard boiled eggs etc - very basic. Cutlery was not available and I had to ask several times for different items."

Staff were quite abrupt. They didn't offer information such as where to go for our breakfast. I have to say all the staff were quite rude and seemed quite patronising.

friendly and helpful staff, spacious room and bathroom, complimentary newspaper, complimentary parking, complimentary breakfast with a good choice of food and drinks
- too busy lounge and bar area because of possibility for guests to choose the programme and volume of the TV - bar offered no cider from the tap - no free wi-fi in public areas of the hotel

Excellent rooms with a very comfortable bed. Reception staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast was of top quality and with a very good selection.

Clean, new, everything worked.
First room we were given was occupied - security issue there was a notebook there. Car park seems to fill up early; shops/restaurants too far to walk.

Good value for money. Nice quiet room. Excellent breakfast selection.
Not really a complaint but would have liked a computer for guest access to confirm flight details etc. Hotel does have WIFI but we didnt have a computer with us!

"Good stay with no general gripes. But a pint of Boddingtons was returned as it was cloudy but bar staff didn't seem to understand the issue. 2nd pint was just as bad. Looked like the beer lines needed cleaning. Went to a nearby pup instead."

Excellent service by the General Manager and his staff. Good directions given over the telephone by the staff to allow me to find the hotel quite easily.
The reservation made was for a family room, indicated for 3 adults. I specified this as I, as a lone parent, required a bed, my eldest daughter required a bed and my 3 year old daughter required a bed. The room provided had a double bed and a sofa-bed which was not made up, although a quilt was provided when requested.

clean, conveniently located, reasonable price, decent buffet breakfast.
pillows like bricks left me with a very stiff neck, thin bedding with no spare blankets so I was cold all night, infuriating humming vibration particularly noticeable during middle of the night. very poor evening meal in the restaurant.

All the facilities. Good price at weekend rates. Beds very comfy. Very clean. Very efficient staff. Complimentary self-service breakfast very good.
Room a little cold. Poor coffee - from a 'powder' type machine. Some staff could be more welcoming.

The only bad point in our room was the stained shower curtain,we have stayed in cheaper accomodation where it was changed guest even after one nights stay breakfast on saturday dissapointing after cold meat etc and accom more expensive also find it strange the notice in the lift advising you to avoid 9am-10am as you may have to wait for shows to me that the dining is too small.

"V. good - we have stayed in H. I. Express before and like the offer. Evening meal choice at this hotel has improved since I was last here - well done."
We had requested a quiet room and were put on a ground floor corridor which appeared to have guests who also wanted peace and quiet. The hotel was full to capacity a wedding party and lots of young children - but none were in our corridor - full marks!
Would have liked a bath.

Neat and clean; spacious with adequate sleeping quarters
Body wash dispensers could not dispense any soap because they needed to be replenished; even with about 1/5 of the container's capacity that area near the neck of the refillable bottle is too hard for the soap to be squeezed out - no matter how much force is applied. We would have preferred a small bar of soap.

"The hotel was easy to find and very well situated - excellent for cricket fans as it is adjacent to the Rose Bowl ground, home of Hampshire county Cricket. Facilities were very good, the buffet breakfast was very good. There were food outlets nearby eg pubs serving meals, take-aways. There was a regular bus service passing the hotel. We thought it value for money."

Have stayed a couple of times before and on this occasion used the adjoining gym facilities using my room card from the hotel for ID. Worth the small additional charge as the facilites are extensive. Take your own towel though!
Check-in and bar staff still generally "distant". Sometimes wonder if they've undergone any customer service training. A simple smile or please and thankyou would not go amiss and make guests feel a whole lot more welcome.

Excellent clean and friendly hotel in an excellent location, Room was clean and tidy as you would expect with plenty of television entertainment if thats what you like, nice resonably priced food in the bar with a fresh continental breakfast.
Food and drinks machine is very very expensive, 90p for a mars bar!!!!!

the hote was clean and well presented
only bad point was the ice had not been cleared in the car park and only paths had been cleared. walking from the car was very dangerous.
