"Poor, I will not be using the services of any Holiday Inn franchise again"

It's located right in the city centre

The staff were rude, unhelpful and upon explaining to them that I'd actually booked a twin room and the room given to me was a double they actually replied "well what do you want us to do about it?...there's no twin rooms left". WELL I DID RESERVE ONE A WEEK BEFORE I STAYED!!!!!

In the room was cold, there was not possible to switch off the air-conditioning there was only cold air. We have arranged the bag of breakfast because of our early departure 4 am. the price of these bags was 2x price of breakfast. We should take these bags in the morning at 4 am. but the bags were not there. Hotel reception clerk did know nothing about it. In this case hotel owe us 14 pounds.

"I was at a very important event very early the nxt day, hence my stay so I could get good nights sleep and be fresh! Unfortunately this didn't happen. It was a shame because my overall opinion of the hotel was very good. I was also treating my children to a night away for a special weekend."

    Very Clean. Polite Staff

Ver Very Noisy. I was Woken up at 2am by very noisy group of people, and was kept awake until 6am by various parties of people returning to the hotel, banging doors, sharing rooms, looking for lost friends that hadn't tuned up to their own rooms, worried girls, and hungry men!!!

    Clean

Booked a twin no smoking room. None available on arrival had to take a smoking room. Apparently room type is not guaranteed. Room too warm.

"In spite of the comment above we would return to the hotel. The staff were attentive and considerate of one of the family who was in a wheelchair following an accident. The room and all hotel facilities were easily accessible for the wheelchair user."

The hotel was centrally situated and within easy reach of shopping, sights and city centre facilities. The quality of accommodation overall was good.

It was a weekend and fully booked with conference guests and spectators for a cricket international match - and because it was in walking distance of night clubs, bars etc there was much noise from drunken guests returning to their rooms in the early hours.

Breakfast continental was OK. I would pay £65 for a night but not the £120 which we did pay.

I pid £120 for a small double room which was a smoking room. I booked a twin bedded non-smoking my wife has a lung disease. After a long discussion we manged to get a non-smoking room. Our bags had been left in reception because we arrived early, but they couldn't find them when we wanted to check-in. There was a stag party and a hen party staying that evening and teh noise was continuous. I spoke to another couple who had paid £65 for the same type of room which would have been more reasonable.

"A good stay, we'll definately do it again."

Central location, excellent facilities and comfortable

Only real complaint was the poorly trained breakfast staff. the tables were all dirty had the young girl on duty did not really have a clue what her priorities should have been.

"The confirmation of booking provides directions straight to the nearest car park. It leads you to belive that the car park is part of the hotels facilities, although it is charged seperately to include a hotel discount. It would be appreciated when making a booking that this information is included. Maybe the reason that this isn't explained clearly, is because there is a hotel 2 minutes further up the road with a car park free of charge."

"Overall it was a fairly good value for money for staying overnight. Location was great but as it was New Years eve was woken up at 6am by group coming in so soundproofing could be a litle better from the corridors."

Option of smoking room. Everything fairly clean apart from carpet. Bedding clean. Mostly comfortable.

No window. Carpet could have been cleaner

"I have only one issue about my stay. I parked in the multi-storey car park as advised. I took my parking ticket to reception to be validated as i had been advised. However, at reception I was not informed that the validation process only reduces the parking rate and is not free parking as I had presumed. Subsequently, I got to the barrier and could not exit the car park. I spoke to the car park manager who told me that this was a regular occurence and he was making a note of people this had happened to in order to pass the information on to the hotel staff."

"Good for business travellers and young people. Not really suitable for families with young children as there is no bath and parking is problematic. There is not even a drop off zone. Facilities were good and so was the service. Nice continental breakfast buffet, no cooked food at breakfast time. There is a coffee bar in house and they do provide a limited range of meals at dinner time. There arelots of bars and restaurants in the development. Good location for shops and castle."

Good city centre location modern facilities

nowhere to stop and deposit luggage before going to the separate car park.had to transport luggage a fair way. Difficult if with children,Also no bath in room.

"Clean and efficient modern hotel, very central, with a comfortable room, wifi internet, shower, etc etc. Very characterless and slightly lacking in amenities this is sort of the selling point, but I hadn't understood that from booking it. No food available after 11, which was a real pain as that's when I checked in."
