Superb reception staff...

After we asked for an air-conditioning room, they upgrade us to a very large room with air-conditioner right away. Excellent location with a nearby car-park at 6 pounds per day only.
At first, we had a room with no air-conditioner but a small fan.

"Not nice at all! "
As soon as we walked into room, there was a cloud of dust, dust on every piece of furniture and hairs in the bath which made us feel like the room hadn't been cleaned, just the bed made and towels put out. It was a very unpleasant stay feeling like everything was dirty.

"Lacklustre hotel in a dodgy area."
Breakfast was good.
Hotel's car-parking is expensive in the next door public car park. My car was broken into, passenger door glass smashed, and the SatNav system was stolen. The in room TV is restricted to show only terrestial channels not even Channel 5 and nobody could explain why.

"Very relaxing, perfect location for event."
Central location, reasonable price, pleasant staff, comfortable bed
Cleanliness of room poor, dusty in places, edges of carpet/skirtings not thoroughly hoovered, bar closed earlier than advertised.

"I probably wont be staying there again, i would give some where else a go. Thought it was too expensive for what we got, and didnt even get breakfast with that!!"
It was great loation for where we were going. Room was lovely and clean, though think they forgot to decorate the bathroom when they where doing the bed room!! very tight to get in also behind the bathroom door!! You wouldn't want to be heavy set.
No atmosphere in the hotel at all. Reception was trying to charge us £95 a night, when we had pre booked on line and price was £180 for 2 nights. Smell on 7th floor was like a cheap scent of lime, trying to cover up the smell of muste in the hall way.

"Pleasant hotel but let down by the room facilities."
Nice, clean and quite stylish executive room. Helpful and friendly staff who allowed us to check in an hour early. Very comfy bed.
The hotel fire alarm went off once at about 3am and again at 9am. Had an executive room but the air-con didn't work. There was an old heater in the room the legs fell off it when lifted that we had to move in front of the bathroom door so it was near a plug, but it made so much noise that we ended up turning it off during the night.

Friendly staff, comfortable beds
Had to change rooms as soon as we got there, hairdryer not working- we ordered a sandwich which took 1/2hr to reach us having been told it would be 10 mins. ther was no crisps or coleslaw with the sandwich as per the menu. very cramped room

"Good place for a stop over. Menue was interesting and varied. Atmosphere was relaxed and staff looked after us well."
Warm staff. Service in the reataurant was a bit slow. Piece of cheese was sub-standard; consisted of rind only but as there were two more nice pieces on the plate it didn't matter. Food generally was above average.
There was a nail clipping in the room on a chair which was off putting but otherwise linen and everything else clean and fresh. Warmth, lack of noise very pleasing in bedroom; comfortable matress. Remote did not work but we didn't need the TV so reported that and am sure the staff dealt with it quickly. Efficient and kindly staff dealing with a coach party so busy.

"Good value for money, centrally located and very comfortable. No complaints. Although when booking it could have been made a little clearer on which carpark we were to use as we only found out by chance. Especially not knowing the area."
Very efficient staff and friendly. Hotel was clean and very comfortable and was good value for money. Good location too.
None - only minor thing - We over slept and were 10mins late leaving the room and already the phone was ringing chasing us from reception!!!!!!

"If it wasn't such a hot day the above wouldn't have mattered that much, but it did spoil an otherwise very nice room at a reasonable price."
Room was a very nice size and very well presented.
Very hot room there was no air-con that I could see and the water coming from the cold tap in the bath was hot!

"Poor"
Location
1 Key card didn't work first time so had to go back to reception 2 Got back from town centre about 11:15, very hungry so called for room service. despite the menu saying hot food was available 24 hours, when I asked for something I was told they don't do hot food! Take it off the menu then! 3 Ordred a sandwich instead and after an hour of waiting, it still hadn't arrived so I went to bed very hungry! 4 Butter at breakfast already used 5 Egg at breakfast was hard with egg shell in the white.

"I would not have booked if I had known that carparking was in a public carpark. I was advised to park on the third floor but couldn't see any reason why as I passed the empty first and second floors. Then I had to drag my suitcase down three flights of stairs because I wouldn't trust a lift in this largely empty carpark with no sign of any security or anyone around. I would not advise single women to park there as very empty, many dark corners and very insecure feeling."
The hotel was satisfactory but like many hotels of its type the rooms are small and cramped and the lounge facilities lacking in real comfort. I am increasing staying in Premier Travel Inns because they offer very large, bright spacious rooms and have no tedious ramping of room rates from their 'basic' room cost to the supposed higher cost of 'better' or 'executive' rooms. I got a good internet booking rate for this hotel but otherwise their rates of £105 and beyond cannot be justified for what you get. Coupled with having to park in a public carpark and pay £6 for the priviledge I think hotels like this will not survive against the often superior facilities of premier travel inns.
My room had what looked like a wardrobe door but when I opened it to hang a suit I found myself staring into a long full height pipe duct disappearing into the distance. If I had a child in the room I would have been very alarmed. Breakfast was the usual uninspiring array of very basic choices and favourless coffee. Most of us have stayed in hotels abroad and enjoyed the often beautiful breakfast choices - no wonder the UK has a poor record for food if hotels like this are your experience of Britain. I didn't get to sample dinner as the receptionist informed me at 7.30 that I couldn't get a table to about 8.3o. However, on examining the menu I had no desire to wait as it was a list of basic foods all described in the most pretenious language and naturally at a high price. I walked into the town centre and was eating a good pasta dish by 7.50.

"Due to the member of staff's attitude I will never stop at this hotel or indeed your chain again."
The rooms were modern & recently renovated to a good standard
The lift kept us awake we complained & the attitude of the night porter was not as it should have been, a very rude man. The remainder of the staff were very good.

The hotel was well situated in the town and the staff were friendly and helpful
The room was very small and had not been cleaned to a satisfactory standard. The shower did not work well and only one person could fit in the bathroom.

Good layout Car park arrangement very good
Slight grumble was the paper arrived after I went down for extra breakfast. Dining staff found one for which was very kind of them

I arrived late at night and ended up in a very small dated room, with very old fashioned bed, shower/ bath combo. It felt like a retirment home rather than a hotel room.

"As a frequesnt business traveller, I would have greatly appreciated access to the Internet in the room. I suggest that in a hotel of this standard, this is now becoming a generally expected facility. Visitorwise, my stay was entirely satisfactory."
Warm, comfortable and well maintained

"In the main the hotel was good, all staff were friendly helpful and polite,we used the room as our base, and as we were on a strict time table we were unable to use the full facilities but the bars/restaurant looked inviting. It was the first time I had taken my car and found the parking arrangement in a secured car park reassuring and the cost was nominal. The hotel was our first choice as we have stayed before for another family celebration, hopefully when we come again we will have the opportunity to sample the hotels ameneties in full. Having gained the last room which smoking was allowed we both would prefer to know in booking/confirmation that a smoking room had been allocated. The hotel was quiet and well located for the town/shopping."
We found the hotel clean and tidy not just the foyer our room/bathroom was as well the fact we could smoke was also a plus for us The tea/coffee making facilities a must. Clean towels/bed linen excellent. The room was well lit and warm the fan was an added bonus.
The room was a little small without a safe for valuables. The toliet behind the bathroom door is a little tight for space and the static shower not being adjustable.
