"The problems were all sorted out for us by very polite staff. Room 59non smoking was good. Early morning wake up call & transfer to terminal excellent."

Staff who understood English were efficient & helpful.

Initially we had a smoking room which was changed immediately & with an apology.Room service was difficult-- half our order arrived, then after a reminder phone call & a wait of 20-30 minutesnot the 5 minutes as promised a wrong order arrived--eventually this was corrected & we received an apology from the restaurant. When we arrived no parking in hotel car park.

    "A very pleasent night's stay"

The hotel was excellent and the staff very attentive. The dining room was very well run, and the meal very good value.

I had to pay 2 pounds for 17 minutes stay in the car park. I simply checked in, put my cases in the room and took the car back to the car hire, all in 17 minutes agording to the token machine for the car park, all for 2 pounds. A little excessive I thought.

"Acceptable but we resented having to walk back after a long flight."

The cost was very reasonable and included parking during our 12 night holiday. The room compared well with similar hotels. Also, transfer to the airport was included.

The hotel general areas were`tired`. We were given wrong info on where to stand for our return collection to the hotel we phoned when we arrivedand walked back.

"The hotel is situated at the airport providing a ready made continuous flow of guests. Unfortunately this has resulted in the hotel staff adopting the attitude that they no longer need to 'try' and are able to provide sub-standard service as guests will continue to stay due to convenience of the location at the airport. "

Staff at reception were rude, not even bothering to look up from the pc monitor while responding to queries. 5 delegates attending the conference commented on how they had been directed to the meeting room without the receptionist even looking at them. Tea/coffee at the conference arrived late and the flapjacks served with afternoon tea were individually wrapped and all past their 'use by' date.

"A very comfortable stay, which saved us setting off very early in the morning to journey to East Midlands Airport."

Check in was easy and very informative. Was able to park my car while I went on holiday. Courtacy shuttle was on time and a taxi was waiting to return us to the hotel.

"Claims to be a 4*. I have no complaints but from my experience I'd only consider this hotel to be a reasonable 3*"

Spacious room. 2 minute walk from airport terminal.

Staff very friendly - very welcoming and smiley - no language problems as all staff spoke English fluently - excellent service.

Slightly more than we wanted to pay.

"Will not be using the hotel again"

Hotel reception staff efficient, room clean and tidy. Outside space very disappointing. Room looked onto a grass courtyard which COULD be very attractive but weeds growing through the paths and unmown grass makes it look very shabby indeed.

Several children belonging to guests at a wedding taking place at the hotel were allowed to run screaming up and down bedroom corridors from 7pm until 2am the following morning with no action taken by staff

    "Can I add more? EXCELLENT"

High class, great quality and superb value for money. The food was slightly expensive but wonderfully prepared and served

The additional 5 pounds for parking makes it seem cheap Id have prefered it if it was included

"The price quoted when I booked was less than half of what the staff tried to charge me when i checked out. When I produced my printed receipt which gave the total price, they were rude and told me in future I should book directly."

"Comfortable quiet hotel with extremely obliging staff. Would stay again but object to having to pay to park the car overnight and the breakfast although very good was overpriced."

Room was clean & amazingly quiet given proximity of airport. Very comfortable bed. Tea & coffee making facilities. Good equipment in gym, nice pool.

Having to pay to park the car and exorbitant cost of breakfast. Hotel is quite expensive enough without these extra charges.

I arrived on a flight from Knock and when I got to my room it was quite late. I rang to order a slice of toast and half an hour later it still had not be delivered needless to say I cancelled it. I had not breakfast included in the rate however on the morning because of a flight change I had time to go to the restaurant. I explained I only wanted tea and toast however I was told that any thing would cost

"Having previously stayed at Thistle hotels I was expecting far more, the only good comment I have was that the staff were very friendly."

    Breakfast

The amazing number of common things that were defined as extras that needed to be paid for!

"As a businessman I know how valuable time is to contact your business base and to keep in touch with the office. However, I think a few simple rules would not go amiss so that one can unwind and recharge for the next day. Foir example, we had to move dinner table the first night because a lady at the next table insisted on using both her laptop and mobile pohone - perhaps they could be banned in the eating areas. Secondly even at 2200 we found it difficult to find a seat in the lounge that was laptop or phone free."

Variety of places to be, swimming pool, decent eating.

Intrusiveness of mobile phones and laptops.

The room is in urgent need of refurbishment. Whilst very practical for business purposes there is a lack of quality about the room. The service in the Sherwood restaurant was appalling! We gathered the team was new but even so there is a minimum of experience required to run a restaurant!!!

"At this particular Hotel East midlands Airport the staff were very slick & professional. A special thank you to the porter? who was attentive and particularly helpful. Breakfast choice was very good and the restaurant area clean and spacious. This is an excellent stopover for the airport with good parking. It really is only a few minutes walk to the airport as stated in the on line information!"

twin room; plenty of space; decent chairs to sit in; clean!

Nothing really - except decor was looking a little 'tired'

Every thing was very clean and the decor was modern

The leisure facilities were not working even thought i called to check prior to booking. The pool area was very cold and not as clean as the rest of the hotel. It was not very inviting. It let the hotel down as the rest was superb

"The hotels location central to the airport allows you the freedom to purchase snacks and drinks from the petrol station and terminal outlets - boots and spar. As well as walking distance to small village of Deisworth ? where there are a couple of local pubs serving food."

The atmosphere of the bar areas is very relaxed and welcoming. The staff are helpful and friendly.

Some rooms have obviously been refreshed over past months but others have not. On this occassion my bathroom was very old and tired looking.
