"Clean, pleasant atmosphere. Able to go swimming and cycling. Good location. "

Nice food in the Brasserie Enjoyed use of the spa Very convenient for visiting Clumber Park

Noisy room - a lot of traffic noise and no double glazing. Shower/bath a bit tired and door on bath didn't fit properly. Damp patches. "brasserie" means brewery. Abroad you always get a good choice of beers in these establishments. Very limited range here. Menu full of spelling and accent mistakes.

"The hotel and facilities were very good but unfortunately my colleagues and I will not be returning given the appalling service in the restaurant."

Check-in was good - very pleasant lady and only her second day.

Restaurant service was non-existent and possibly the worst I have ever experienced.

"Excellent Hotel and I would recommend to anyone looking for a stay in the area. Very good value."

excellent facilities and good leisure facilities. The Spa was excellent

None I could find with the quibble that breakfast could have been earlier at the weekend. If you have to get to the eveny tour visiting, in my case the Osberton horse trials then an early start is required.

"Overall, it was a nice hotel. "

Staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was nicely decorated.

Poor internet connection in the bedroom. Also the menu had virtually no low fat options for dinner could not get any plain potatoes - only chips!

"Reasonable but spoiled by the above, would I stay again, Possibly but not in any room that was over a common area"

The Music that was played in the Resturant below Room 67 was too loud and played throughout the night which kept me awake. I thought that there was a party in the Hotel on the first night that i stayed and so I didn't mention it. The second night I thought that someone will turn it off soon but it just went on and on.

Member of the bar staff Kelly extreemly helpful superb individual. Breakfast staff were good. Would definitely use this hotel again was a lovely place to chill.

The water pressure was poor and the cold water gave up the ghost. The toilet could not flush but we were offered a room change and once the water pressure was sorted, it was ok.

Fantastic hotel and great value for money. Staff in the Gym / Spa were amazingly friendly. Rooms were a great size and very modern.

Checking in process was very slow as only one receptionist to deal with all enquiries.

The room was very dated in it's furnishings and fittings, the bedding was low quality and as a consequence the room presented itself as dirty because it seemed as though no one cared to make it look good and feel comfirtable. There was no mini-bar, no in-room internet and no in-room movies.

"OK. Not a bad experience, just wouldn't want to stay again, better in the area."

    Price, location, availability

Communal areas and room were shabby. Paint marked carpets. Unsightly conduit and cables. Toilet seats that don't stay up! Bed contained foreign matter! No air conditioning.

"Staff were extremely polite and helpful. Catering was of a high standard. The room was generous in size and provision; well furnished; and warm. Towels were fluffy and of good size, with complimentary bathroom soap etc."

In general the facilities and presentation of the hotel were very good. The bedroom was excellent, spacious, clean and immaculately presented with new facilities.

Decroators had trodden paint into corridor carpets which were otherwise in good condition and well presentedand some communal areas were showing signs of wear wall coverings damaged.

"Good mid market, clean, functional hotel. Fine for a business stay. Prob not for a romantic weekend!"

Comfortable bed and nice cotton bedding. Fairly newly decorated.

Ended up with twin beds instead of double. Hotel must have been redecorated by a chimpanzee - there is paint all over the carpets along the corridors!

easy access from A1. The room and facilities within the room were good. Good choice at breakfast, self service meant you were not waiting.

The room was a bit dusty e.g. the top of the drawers and the bedside table.

"Clean and friendly. Would recommend hotel if expectations were a reasonably priced weekend break and not expecting 5 star treatment."

    Clean and friendly.

Room at front of the hotel was to noisey traffic on main road. Got a room move, but the room was a smoking room and I am a non smoker. When i got back to the hotel and asked if my new room was ready the answer was yes. Went to the room, my bags were not there. So went down to reception, on the way there i noticed my old room door was open and my bags still in the room, not good really. TV in new room had dodgey volume control loud then quiet. Decided to put up with it as I didn't expect much difference in service.

Proximity to our week end purpose. Have stayed in this hotel for at least the last three years.

Room: bathroom looked very tired - mould on the shower tiles. Old rubber mat in the bath. Had to search for a second bath towel - why? Actual bed - poor matress - a very uncomfortable 'nights rest' for two people.

"On the whole the experience was OK, however for a little work and investment this hotel could become first rate. There are obvious signs that changes for the better are underway, but close attention does need implementing quickly to bring the cleanliness issue in to line. Even where some of the decor in the rooms is a little tired, as long as they are spotlessly clean this would be an excellent start for very little investment. As I stay in hotels 100+ nights per annum, my first prioty and that of many travellers I meet is how clean a place is?"

I liked the friendly homely atmosphere, the ambience in the restraunt is very good, great to see wifi for business travellers.

My main concern was the level of cleanliness. I would only rate this at 40% which is a shame. The bathrooms were very tired, mould on the tiles etc and the nearly dusted/vacuumed appearance and the very filthy windows stains on carpets and furniture was a let down. The other small factor was that the restaurant food was strange in as much as 50% of the food was fantastic, but then other aspects were nearly unedible. I am unsure what causes such an anomaly?

    Hotel was quiet

No High Speed Internet Access, Choice of TV channels wasn't brilliant.

    "Very enjoyable."

Good restaurant. Early check-in, we were cold after a long walk. Friendly and helpful staff.

Nothing to dislike about the actual accommodation. The bar was too smokey to use in the evening. Visitor loud drunk guests at a christmas party.
