"Very pleasant could have stayed much longer with access to hot water!"

staff were great, room was good, food was good

The most outstanding thing about this was the lack of hotwater obtainable in bath/shower. Having run only 'Hot' water into the bath itwas found to be lukewarm and using the waste bin we filled it from the hot supply in the handbasin.

"Excellent stay stayed 6 weeks ago for 3 nights also, & will certainly return for our next visit to Chester."

Superb refurb. from when it was Hoole Hall. Love the matress toppers! Quality all round for this grade of hotel. Extremely helpful & friendly staff. Nothing too much for them.

Fittings falling off in en-suite. Will be interesting to see standard of ongoing maintainence as hotel gets more 'used'. We hope they keep the standard up.

Good room. We found the staff helpful and polite. The grounds were very nice. Hotel was idealy placed for our needs

It's a good walk from car park to entrance. On arrival we have to wait while our bed was changed rfom twin to what we order, an executive.

Excellent hotel Very friendly helpful staff although it was grand national day and the member of staff who showed us to our room was from Liverpool and could not give me any tips - only kidding but we had a laugh about it though and he made us feel welcome. Great value and if the price stays the same we will come again. If you offer the same price for the room without the spa that would be great. location ideal

Lovely hotel with really nice rooms - will be great when all the refurb has finished.

The internet connection did not work in the room I checked into. I had to change rooms and although the internet did work there was no power at the desk points

"OK apart from car park shambles. Restaurant was very expensive."

Car parking was restricted due to roadworks. As a result I had to park some distance away from reception. There were no signs to assist in finding reception from the temporary car park so I wandered around in the rain!

"I was a guest at Mrs Brown's Birthday Dinner, in a beautiful room on the first floor. Excellent food and service. It was leisurely and not rushed. "

The food was excellent. It was imaginative and beautifully presented.Staff were helpful and pleasant. They produced an AA Route Planner for the next part of my journey.

I would have appreciated help with carrying my suitcase out to the car. I am 76 yrs old. On my 2nd trip to the car they helped at my request, very pleasantly.

everything at the hotel was great. room where great.

was very disappionted on the first night as a group of men where very loud and they blamed me and frieds for the noice as the had got the worng room, but knocked twice and threatened us with the police. that was very disappointing. they did a apologise for their mistake.

"we have a very active 1 year old and there were no high chairs available in the dining area. we had breakfast and found it to be badly cooked and the ingredients seemed to be of poor quality. The black pudding was inedible and the sausages overcooked. it put us off eating in the restaurant. However the hotel and staff overall were excellent"

very smart, lovely bed, good facilities in room

"The price reflects the age of the hotel I guess, however the staff attitude was a little poor chatting to friend on telephone when I arrived, continued conversation during check in including moaning about the fact the hotel was busy!, unable to accept Amex, moaning about hotel's own credit card system - basically unprofessional."

it was clean and the towels were plentiful and decent, there was plenty of hot water, it was convenient to my work place

very old fashioned, outdated bathrooms and decor, very worn building doors etc, service lift, physical key for room not swipe card, unable to use Amex

Pleasant room on ground floor and no noise of kitchens etc. Also very adequately stocked with coffee making facilities and loo rolls !

Only that it was too warm and we could not seem to turn the radiator down so had to open the window.
