"Really like this hotel but just felt that it needed a tiny bit of TLC. Would recommend to stay there and definitely stay again. Room service food was great as were staff."
Great location and service. Liked the alternative decor & food.
Bath tap fell off while running a bath and I couldn't fix it. No free broadband in room, had to pay £7.50.

"Waht the doctor ordered."
Frankly, the main point for us was that the hotel is within walking distance of Manchester Piccadilly Station. V important to us on this occasion. All normal services. Well built - you don't hear the people in other rooms.

"I would not be desperate to return and considering the reputation of ,malmaison i was disaapointeD and the hotel did not compare favourably to others"
we were booked for a private function -gp of approx 20 guests -although the food was excellant -staff were clearing tables -even the christmas decorations as we were sat at the table -not very welcoming

"I loved it."
Loved the decor and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom toiletries were lovely and I'd really like to know the make of the soap so I can buy some! It had a great tangerine smell.
No parking at the hotel but to be fair the NCP was just down the road.

The whole ambience of the hotel made it a plessure to stay in.
The only complaints i have of the hotel, is the lack of hand soap in the ensuit facilities .

Modern styling - well maintained
Not enough capacity in the bar area & service was poor in that area. We were there for an event at MCFC as many other people and the bar area couldn't cater for the influx of guests before and after the event. Also we received an automated wake up call at 6am which we had not requested - it didn't go down too well as this was also a night away from the children and a lie in would have been appreciated!! A piece of hotel admin not dealt with I guess.

"A warm and friendly welcome was received upon arrival. The receptionist was more than helpful and answered every question we asked with a high level of cofidence and knowledge. Great advice on shopping, restaurants, bars and nightlife. The bar service was excellent. i don't think we got to the bottom of our drinks before being offered another. From the moment we arrived to the time we left every area had a suprise around the corner. Even the walk to the lift was a great setting and there was a warm inviting feel to the whole hotel."
The design and quailty up-market feel.

"As we only stayed for one night, we coped with the paint smell. but this was due to the fact that we had spent most of the day and early eve shopping, then went into town for the eve.. It was a place to sleep rather than another enjoyable experience."
I enjoyed the theme of the hotel, the location, the overall hotel facilities, how friendly the staff were.
I was not impressed that parts of the hotel was being refurbished. Yes i understand that this is a process that does take time to do. However, placing people in rooms near to where they have/ strok are painting is a little uncomfortable. paint fumes made the room smell unpleasent.

"I enjoyed my stay at the Malmaison mainly because the surroundings are so elegant and the staff couldn't of been friendlier or more helpful. Getting 25% off the cost of parking on the NCP car park is a nice touch, but we wouldn't of known about it had we not of asked. If you're looking for a hotel that stands out from the norm and is very convient for the train station then this is the hotel for you."
I thought the decor of the hotel was very stylishly done and I loved the humours little notes here and there.
Although the room was beautifully decorated, it was very dark and I found applying my make-up in the evening to be almost immpossible. An illuminated mirror would of been very useful.

"Lovely hotel, really convenient for shopping, eating out, drinking etc, etc. Bit pricey, especially considering breakfast wasn't included. Nice for a treat."
Cleanliness. Bit different!
Breakfast not included!!

"Lovely hotel, modern, clean and comfortable. But take several torches with you and hope they paint over the black walls soon. Breakfast in the room is a real treat."
Central location, near to the train station, comfortable rooms, really friendly staff, excellent tea and coffee in the rooms. en suite is a good size with good services.
Smoky bar with cafe style seating. Hotel was dark and poorly lit - I thought there was a power cut on when we got to reception but apparently its meant to look like that. Nowhere to apply make up in the bedroom mirror too far away in bedroom and really bad lighting - bathroom had no counter top space and very dimly lit. No lights on in the lift so pitch black in there one morning. Checked in at 12am and left bags at reception as room not ready, had to collect them later on - most other hotels will take them to your room for you when it's ready.

"Overall the stay was gorgeous.I was a little bit disapoined as I had let the hotel know in advance that it was a special birthday treat but we had no special treatment but the toiletries and huge towels did make up for this a bit. The hotel is lovely, if a bit expensive for a 3 star, and very convenient for getting round the city. The room was very nice, the food we ordered throuigh room service was yum and the bar staff were really friendly."
The room was lovely, the bath was gorgeous and so were the toiletries.Room service was excellent.
we weren't given a particularly friendly reception. When we got to the room there was no coffee we had to ring down for some. There was no price list for the minibar, and although we asked, this never materialised and there was no information in the room about the hotel and its facilituies; i.e. times spa and gym facilities were available; bar and restaurant opening times etc
from Lincoln United Kingdom;UK, stayed on December 2, 2006
"The hotel is very central - practically opposite Piccadilly Station which is perfect for a weekend break - no need for buses/trams to get anywhere in the centre of Manchester. Parking may be a problem - especially at weekends NCP carpark nearby The hotel is tastefully furnished and is finished to a high quality. Despite some noise from a local pub inevitable in a city centre on Sat eve, the actual hotel was very quiet with little corridor or inter-room noise at night. The staff were helpful and friendly and although this is not a cheap hotel, you get a spacious room with an upmarket feel to it."
Lovely quality feel to the decor and finish. Room large and spacious.
Room was at the rear of the hotel and experienced some late night Saturday noise from a pub nearby.

"It was our 1st night out since having our 5 month daughter. It was a lovely night in a lovely hotel. We arrived early and our room was ready 2hrs early.. excellent we also had dinner in the brasserie. Only 2 little faults with our stay; whilst having dinner, one of the waiters was shouting at 1 of his staff rather loudly. Every1 could hear. 2 In the evening, the few bar staff were run off there feet, so the drinks were taking rather a long time. Appart from that, fantastic 1st night away in 18months."
i thought it was a little different than usual. Fantastic reception and i loved the colours.
could not fault the accomation

"Made our stay very enjoyable, lovely room and enjoyed the whole experience. My only dissapointment was the fact that we were not informed that our parking tickets could be validated at reception upon departure to give us 25% off, as we had already paid for it in full, and there were no smoking rooms available despite requesting one at time of boking and our early check in."
Fantastic service, lovely hotel, lovely food! definitly book this hotel again!
There was not a smoking room available upon check in, despite the hotel being booked several months in adavnce and us checking in early.
