This hotel is quite expensive and some rooms are fairly small, for this price the rooms could do with refurbishing and bathrooms modernising

The room was extremely hot and stuffy despite the weather being indiffernt outside. No fans were offered in the hotel literature. The complimentary computer online service did not work when I tried it.

"Excellent would recommend for overnight stay or for a meal. Didnt eat in the restaurant as the menu wasnt appealing. Prices were slighty higher but was told that it was the same chef that prepared the meals for both eatery. Food prices were as expected of this type establishment. Approx £24 per head for a 3 course meal in Nelsons Bar. Overall a very pleasent stay at the hotel. "

very nice location food was outstanding in nelsons bar staff very helpful close to cheshire oaks,chester city, wales and motorways Hotel colour scheme is light with plenty of natural light coming in. The leisure facilites was good but not excellent

Thin walls in the bedrooms... in the bathroom you could hear the guests in the next room Nosiey at night and early morning from people in the corridor. Spa not very relaxing : only 4 loungers, sauna very small and steam room was too white with hospital like plastic seats. No quiet area

Friendly accomodating staff. Bar prices not too bad "for a hotel".

Needs better residents bar hours. The check-out time is relatively early at 11am, and your not allowed to access the leisure facilities after you have checked out.

The shower did not work - just cold water. Bathroom very old in need of refurbishment. Cobwebs at back of TV. Breakfast was dried up under lights. No attempt to replace food as guests came in to eat.

the toilet didnt work in the first room we were allocated and we had to switch rooms we advised reception that we had a meal in the restaurant that evening and they would need to switch the bill to the new room number which was not done and a waitress came up to us the next day in the bar to ask if we had given a wrong room number which was potentially an embarrassing situation for us that could have been avoided

This is an excellent hotel, great service, fabulous leisure facilities and good choice of food both in bar and restaurant.

Food at Nelson's bar was poor. Staff were relatively unfriendly. Ciros was expensive. Breakfast request was not collected on one of the nights so went without breakfast for one morning.

We had the Romantic Package and it was well worth it. The room was beautiful with a huge bathroom and huge double bath. The four poster bed was very comfortable and the decor was very shabby sheek. The food was excellent and waiting staff superb

Shower and bath seemed to take a while to get up to full speed which in turn wasn't very fast. We did get intruded upon by maitenence at 8.30 am where he knocked and just walked in...not the best aftwer a heavy night

The staff were in the main very helpful and efficient which resulted in a good customer experience. The food and service both in the restaurant and at breakfast was good.

However we did feel that when we checked in, the information given was poor. We were not advised where the restaurant or the leisure facilities were situated. Some of the bar staff were not fluent in English so could not understand what drinks we asked for or what measures should be used. Perhaps some better staff training should take place. The room was lovely but I would have expected a higher standard of toilet paper!! The shower was in grave danger of overflowing into the bathroom which was a bit worrying .

"This is an excellent hotel with very good facilities. The staff were polite and attentive withiut bein to overt. Public rooms well appointed. The leisure centre was well equipped with gym equipment and the pool/stem room/jacuzzi and sauna were all much appreciated. This is a hotel I would hurry back to next time I am in the area."

Overall setting and state of public rooms was first rate. Bedroom well appointed. Free WiFi is a real bonus as it saves haivng to register and pay; a time consuming task.

Shower was a little temperamental in terms of maintaining its temperature.

The room was an adequate size and resonably comfortable

The toilet seat was broken, the room was at least ten degrees higher than it should have been

"This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and,apart from the cold bathroom, we really enjoyed our stay. Room facilities were good and the food was excellent. Expect we will be back for another visit in the near future."

Friendly staff and excellent food both in the bar and the restaurant.

It was very windy during our stay and the bathroom window could have done with being better insulated as it made the room very cold.

"Myself & my husband had a wonderful stay . The food was excellent on the two nights we ate in the restaraunt & the staff were delightful. Breakfast was a feast & even though the hotel was quiet we were given the full works. The Karma Spa was sheer heaven we had several treatments & we were very impressed, the decor is indulgant restfull & quite beautiful. We wish it all the sucess it deserves. We can't wait to return!"

Even after a busy Christmas & new Year period the staff were friendly & helpfull & the hotel was spotless.

Our room was noisy but it didn't trouble us too much

"Excellent! - book with confidence, Hotel was clean and tidy. A choice of Nelsons bar or Italian themed resturant for food GOOD Breakfast. Looks Better on the inside then on the out. location pleasant with security cameras on the parking. Tea,Coffee & Chocalate drinks made available in all rooms but no mini bars in standard rooms. Excellent swimming pool, gym ect. A Good to excellent 3-4 Star Hotel, Would be very happy to take the wife to this one, as she is a fussy women - bless her!."

"our overall view of this hotel is excellent the room was of very high standad apart from the low ceiling the food was very good the apperance was very good,the only thing i was not sure of was i booked an execitve room which stated a large room some with view our room was not large and with no view,but has we were there for only one night we agreed to keep the room we were given,the only good thing was we are good on our feet if we were not the stair case would have been a problem as it was not stated when i booked the room."

I liked everything about our room when we opened the door to our room we found a spiral stair case up to it we thought it was quaint,

the ceiling in the room were very low with this being an attic room my husband kept banging his head he was not amused but it was only one night so he put up with it.

First impressions and overall apperance were lovely. Designed beautifully, beautiful decor, staff very welcoming and overall experience very relaxing. Greatlocation. Enjoyed the stay.

Enjoyed the Roman style swimmingpool. Meal in main restaurant a bit pricey but better value in Nelsons Bar. Location of hotel better than expected, hardly any traffic noise although only a couple of miles from A55/A483."

Very clean and comfortable, quirky room with small lounge area with spiral staircase leading up to bedroom and bathroom. Lovely view over fields and hills.

If you were a tall person, it would be difficult to shower as shower head quite low, hairdryer needs longer lead you have to sit down to use it.

Food was very good and room very comfortable.

Although the hotel was busy the accomodation has been designed to ensure that there is little disturbance in individual rooms. Staff were very friendly and the food was good. The spa was excellent too. Overall our stay was an enjoyable experience."

The hotel was terrific and the room superbly decorated. It was all so comfortable and relaxing. Rooms are a generous size which adds to the overall experience.

Uniquley pleasant, great detail in every fashion

Temperature of corridors and room was high

i requested room 74 as i had stayed the previous year in that room. it was spacious, clean and in a quiet spot.

Very clean and the meals were nice

Being awakened by a lift and noisy staff at 6am in the morning especially as we did not get to sleep until 1am due to wedding disco.
