"Very good standard of accomodation, very relaxing."
Really liked the facilities in the apartment it was like a home from home and with young children it worked very well.
I would have liked to be able to check in prior to 3pm as this is quite late. The breakfast could have done with a fried slice and the morning we took breakfast the staff seemed quite hassled and we didn't get things we asked for like extra milk etc. Noise for wood flooring above was a bit of an issue as children were running about and this was quite noisy.

Excellent central location. Well designed appartment that was very well equipped. Polite, smiling and attentive staff. We appreciated the upgrade when we checked-in.
No 'bad' points. Potential improvements to consider: 1. offering an option of hard and soft bed mattresses 2. the kettle in the appartment kitchen should have a better pouring spout

"Very nice looking hotel, but a very dissapointing stay"
The layout was really nice, the kithen was superb. The food was very very nice too. very comfy bed.
Ran out of hot water very quickly, so showers must be very brief! Therefore the idea of a dishwasher & washing machine seem a little pointless as full use of these amenities could not be carried out. An extreme lack of electric sockets, only 1 mirror in the room with no socket close by, so had to dry our hair in the reflection of the microwave! Furniture in the lounge in desprate need of renewal, rips in both sofa's and the whole place in need of a paint.

All staff were extremely polite and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were absolutely lovely, very relaxing. Food and drinks were not overpriced. Good location for train station, shopping etc. The option to have your breakfast in your room was fantastic.
No bad points about this hotel.

Great location for Manchester. Apartments are very comfortable and of a generous size with good bathrooms. Kitchen well stocked with crockery etc. All you need including washing machine/dryer/iron - great when you are travelling for a long spell. A good continental and cooked breakfast. Friendly staff.
The hotel is now 7 years old and the roomswe stayed there for 2 periods in different roomsreally need a bit of decorating. We were on the 6th floor and the shower in the main bathroom did not function well - maybe a problem with hot water pressure

"Even though the unit needed a good cleaning, we very much enjoyed our stay and will definetly return to The Place Hotel. I have no problem recommending your hotel to my friends. Would suggest that the unit we were in be given an indepth cleaning and paint job. We noticed other units on the floor were being painted."
Excellent location, good kitchen facilities, felt like a home away from home. Having an apartment made the stay much more comfortable especially since it rained so much. Loved the skylights and vaulted ceilings - gave lots of light to the rooms. Excellent hair and bath products. Thick fluffy towels. Liked the idea that we were staying in a converted warehouse.
Unit needed a good paint job and thorough cleaning. Floors were squeaky and need refinishing. Could only get lukewarm water for the bathtub, so did not use. We had 2 baths so used the shower in the other instead. One of the heating units in living room did not work.

at the time we went construction work was going on next door to the hotel and our room was facing it, this wasnt mentioned to us on arrival and next morning jcb's were drilling and hammering away at 8.30 in the a.m, not the best thing to wake up up on a relaxing overnight stay. also i ordered a morning newspaper but it never arrived.

bought the night in your hotel and tickets for a local concert for fathers' day, only to be told that i could not pay over the telephone. therefore my parents' credit card was used as security. this meant that my parents knew how much the hotel cost - and almost ended up paying for it themselves, until i persisted and discovered that i could pay by phone if i filled in a faxed authorisation form.

"I thought it was tremendous value for money, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The accomodation was superb. The only slight downside was that we weren't aware that a cash deposit was required for our stay. It would have been helpful to know that beforehand, as we were unable to charge anything to our room. Overall i would say it was a fabulous hotel though."
I was pleasantly suprised by the size of the apartment. The decor was fabulous, right down to the brickwork. It was nice that the little touches had been taken care of too, such as providing softener and tablets for the washing machine and dishwasher.

The fact that it was an apartment and there were 3 of us, meant we could sit together in the lounge with a cup of tea and relax without having to pop in and out of each others rooms.
The brick dust. The first apartment was covered in it, but to be fair they upgraded and moved us to a more delux apartment. Also because of the wooden floors it was noisy overhead.

"From the minute we arrived we where treated like the most important people in the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble part of our group even got a complimentary upgrade. The staff where extremely friendly helpful and courteous. The standard of the rooms and bathrooms was exceptional.
