"Good for the price but food very expensive."

The main areas in the hotel are superb and the food excellent.

Food is VERY expensive, rooms do not do the hotel justice as they are a little shabby compared to the main areas.

"Good location for visiting different areas. Had planned to play golf but weather didn't allow it."

Nice hotel, mostly refurbished will be nice when the rooms are refurbished in the future.

Our room was noisy, ie next door to leisure, opposite laundry we had to ask to be moved to a quieter location.

"Apart from the above we were generally satisfied"

Lovely building and golf course. Attentive staff

Were not told that all indoor leisure facilities were closed either when we made our reservation or when we checked in. This was most disappointing as our decision to stay with you was largely based upon these facilities. The Duty Manager gave us a reduction on our bills There were 8 of us staying for a family wedding. We would have much preferred to have paid the full tariff and had the facilities.

"Disappointing, when the hotel regards itself as a five star facility and neglects to tell customers about current refurbishments and also doesn't take into account special requests from their guests."

    The food was lovely!

The leisure facilities pool, jacuzzi etc were closed due to refurishment and we were not notified at any point, not during the reservation process...not even when checking in! Being heavily pregnant, I also requested a quieter room in order for me to rest. On going to bed early following the days celebrations, I found myself to be situated in a room above the evening reception room. On notifying the manager, I was told that all wedding guests are situated in rooms near to the celebrations, however, this was not to be the case as my mother and father in law were in rooms situated well away from the evening reception as were my brother and sister in law!

"lovely hotel very nice staff.Unfortunately our stay was cut short due to a family bereavement."

restaurant food and staff were excellent

were not informed that there would be no leisure facilities. If we had known this we would have booked SLALEY HALL which is a lot closer to home.

    "Very enjoyable."

Staff were excellent; very friendly and helpful.

Very minor point was the tiling in the bathroom where the grouting was appeared old and discoloured. Although the room was not dirty, it gave the impression that it was.

"We found our stay at Oulton Hall to be very comfortable. However we were very disappointed with the Dinner we had on Sunday evening. The staff were not helpful and the service was slow. The food was adequate but did not justify the prices charged. The breakfast was excellent and the staff far more friendly and competent. Apart from the staff in the restaraunt on Sunday evening we felt we were very well looked after."

The room was very clean and comfortable.

There was a lot of walking involved within the hotel.

"I thought the hotel was well set up, staff were informative and smiled lots. The staff in the restaurant were exceptional, very professional and we had a good raport with them. It was an all round relaxing stay in fine surroundings."

The room had a good view, decent shower, good firm bed and was spacious

The only thing that I didn't like was the heat of the room. Without the air con which was quite noisy the room was stifflingly hot and it was a cool day outside

MY ONLY DISAPOINTMENT WAS BREAKFAST I DO HATE PRE- COOKED BREAKFASTS , THEY ARE ALWAYS COLD AND LOOK UN APPETISING WHY NOT HAVE AN EGG STATION WHERE ONE CAN AT LEAST GET FRESHLY COOKED EGGS & OMELETTS AS THE DO IN THE FAR EAST"

NICELY LAID OUT ROOM WITH EVERYTHING I WOULD EXPECT TO BE IN IT

"Only criticism of room is that bathroom was small making it difficult for two people to shower and change at same time. Would have expected more space and two basins in a five star hotel. However, otherwise, very well equipped and good cleanliness. Best meal I have ever had from room service. The quality and setting of the breakfast was less than expected, but we thought this likely to be due to pressure from large Christmas evening parties. Th dining room had been used for a very large function the previous evening till the early hours and put back together in a hurry. These were our only criticisms, and overall we enjoyed it and will certainly stay there again. Perhaps not in the upper rank of five star hotels but on the other hand good value for money with no silly prices and lovely staff."

Location, old part of hotel lovely, staff very friendly and well trained. Quality of food from room service excellent.

Bathroom, see below. Ladies cloakroom on ground floor shabby.

"The hotel was in a good location for the motorway and also was in beautiful setting with a fantastic golf course. There were excellent health/leisure facilities and there was superb food served in the Bronte Restaurant! It will be a remebered as a magical weekend as I proposed to my partner and we are now due to get married in 2007. I would recommend this hotel for weekend breaks as it had everyting we wanted! The only negative point is that we were dissapointed with the lack of general information given by reception regarding our dining arrangements."

Spacious rooms. Overall the facilities were very comfortable.

    Room funiture required repairs.

"Good all round hotel with excellent facilities. A good size leisure club with pool and sauna. The hotel has two restaurants with bar facilities and lounge areas. The choice of food was excellent and the ambience of the restaurant added that touch of class. The hotel is near to Leeds and York city for visiting about half an hour drive."

Good all round facilities. Friendly staff. Excellent menu choice.

Lounge areas seemed to be shut off for business meetings in the day. To many smoking areas and no ventilation.
