The first room allocated was in an unacceptable state of cleanliness. We were moved however this should not have occurred in the first place. Would not stay with this hotel again - even for one evening. Staff helpful with the exchange

"Pleasant, safe surroundings. Comfortable but small rooms as compact stated. "
Cleanliness, modern, efficient staff
Food not served later at might ie; sandwiches. We returned after attending a concert to find the kitchen closed. Staff were very kind & gave a take-out menu but we really wanted something simle.

"Really good value for money, very clean, good facilities in room, central location. Would only reccomend a short stay- 2 nights etc as room so small."
Very clean, modern room, even though it was compact really good facilities. Generally very good value for money. Would stay again.
Because room was so compact, i would only reccomend a maximum of 2 night stay.

"The hotel was adequate given the cost."
Good location for what we wanted - to go to the opera, eat out, meet relatives.
Burnt hole in one of the pillow cases - in a no smoking room! Water stain spread from the bathroom, fortunately it was dry. Room door are noisy when being closed.

"Excellent - would def stay agin!"

"This hotel was excellent value for money! I stayed in a City Room, it was more than I was expecting for the money. Would definitely stay here the next time I visit Manchester!"
Staff were friendly, excellent buffet breakfast, very central location.
Room was small, was fine for me as I was on my own, however, this was a double room and I felt that it would be too small for 2 people. Room was very warm, but there was a fan in the room. At times the room was noisy as there were various music events taking place in the conference centre.

"Very enjoyable."
I was very impressed with the room - small but very comfortable - and with the friendliness of the staff. In the restaurant, although there was quite a limited menu, there was still a CHOICE for a vegetarian like myself - I really appreciated that. Staff in the restaurant were very attentive and quite charming. An enjoyable stay.
Nothing really - you couldn't be expected to do anything about the weather in Manchester!

"A comfortable, well-appointed hotel in Manchester City Centre, close to everything that you'd wish to get to. I enjoyed my brief stay and should certainly stay there again if I were to be visiting Manchester again."
Good atmosphere, clean, neat and tidy and well ordered. Friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean, tidy and well prepared and the facilities were all in good working order. The bed was comfortable and I had a good night's sleep. The breakfast menu was exhaustive, catering for every need. The food was excellent.
I have no bad points to raise at all.

"Wouldn t choose this hotel again - room small - not in very nice area. Service just adequate.Often book with active hotels and this was below their normal standard. Not particularly value for money."
newly renovated clean
requested additional milk for room - had to ring again an hour later as none had arrived. woken at 3 15 by drunken irish group banging on doors and shouting, swearing didn t appear to be any security staff on duty. requested wake up call at 8 30 - none forthcoming. Advised staff but didn t offer any help despite the fact it meant we were running late due to over sleeping.

"Great"
Really good staff at reception. Im sorry about checking out late! Asked for a wake up call and missed it twice, but I appreciated the nice reception I got when I phoned back at 11.45!!!! Or round abouts. Great time and advise about where to go and overall excellent service. I would deffinately come back.....of course only if I'm still welcome.
None, only had to change rooms for leaking bath, but wasn't a real problem to me.

"it was a nice hotel to stay in but i feel as a safety officer in my own job you comprised are safety and both me and my partner could have been killed if it had been a real fire."
hotel staff very friendly and helpful. clean and lovely hotel.
on the night we stayed the hotel fire alarm was activated. nobody rang are room plus alarm was very faint. my boyfriend is very deaf neither of us drink so when we realised that something was wrong we rang down to reception but there was no dialing tone on phone?? if it had been a real fire don't think we would have got out alive. so you need to review your fire safety policies asap.

"just prior to our visit, I was involved in an accident. This left we with a large plaster cast on my leg, and requiring the use of a wheel chair. The hotel upgraded our room to a larger one, with facilities better suited to our new situation, at no extra cost. They were very helpful, and I felt that they actually did care. I would recommend the hotel, and its staff, highly."
The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The hotel was very clean and tidy, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs.
The disabled rooms are accessed through a corridor that is very hard to navigate in a wheel chair.

"Will defo book again"
Excellent value for money and good location. Rooms were small but very well presented
Only one person on reception with 3 people in front waiting to check in, this added alot of waiting time onto checking in and after a long drive it was very frustrating
from Sowerby bridge UK, stayed on December 9, 2008
"Enjoyable"
parking was good, the hotel was very central for where we wanted to be
The only bad point was, that the room was freezing when we got to it, and the heating went off during the night which made it cold for waking in the morning. Didn't like the way the heating worked at all.!"!!

"acceptable but could be easily improved by expanding short order catering"
clean comfortable room, bathroom clean and fresh.
heater not working was fixed promptly though, poor TV reception, catering facilities finished too early, I arrived at 21.25, unable to order any food from bar. chair broken.

"Excellent although slightly more pricy than Ibis which was full."
Room clean, attractive, warm, quiet, spacious, with opening window. Good firm comfortable matress. Internet connected PC in lounge available to do email. Close to station and central restaurants and gay bars.
Minor maintenance issues: shower not thermostatic and valve diverting water to shower from tap slowly slipped back. Hotel site on this occasion said it was full but third party booking site allowed a booking.

"Adequate for the purpose of our visit"
Clean, Tidy, centrally and conveniently located - close to Piccadilly Station and the area of Manchester where the venue for the party we attended was held
very small room, fine for one night but not any longer. Welcome at reception lacked warmth. Breakfast although a good selection was on the pricey side - £9.99

Value for money due to the offer Close to Piccadilly station Free Wifi Excellent staff
Lost money due to computer unable to book period of 28 February 2010 til 4 March 2010 because it does not recognise that February does not have 30/31 days. I ended up paying £60 for one of the nights
