"Enjoyed it - thank you. Very convenient for an over night stop for my daughter to attend a university interview. "

Cleanliness, great location close to town centre, relatively quiet, some friendly staff, really comfortable bed

Some of furniture needs replacing -bit old and tatty in places

"Adequate though small room, needs updating. Buffet breakfast looked tired."

Close to the station and convenient for the city centre.

Stayed two nights but no key available for my room until the second day, this meant a member of staff had to open the door for me every time I left the room. Tried to have dinner on first night but although only three other people in dining room was told they could not serve me for three quaters of an hour. Gave up and made other arrangements.

"Enjoyable, lovely warm rooms and constant hot water, especially as it was very cold outside"

Excellent service from all staff on reception made to feel welcome. Excellent breakfast, the best we have had in any hotel, chef constantly monitored the hot plate and cold buffet area. Friendly staff on the Friday morning

A small point was the need to rinse the bath on arrival as there was hair in it. Would have liked the complimentary biscuits replenishing

"Average stay. AT our other hotel across the road no one was never on the front desk. There was approx 4 women in black shift dresses in the back but no one to meet and greet."

The hotel was only 5-6 mins from town.

The hotel decor is tired. Our room had water stains on ceiling the bathroom door did not shut properly. The beds were a bit hard and there was no reading lights.

"The hotel was very clean and the staff polite, but the price was higher than advertised outside the hotel probably due to the fact it was a race day."

    Buffet breakfast very good

For the price we paid, we had a very small double room.

"Had a terrible dinner there with my wife. It was so poor that we believed Mrs down the road came in for the night. It was out first event/happening and started with a dirty fork, it set the tone for the stay, it was cheap but awful."

Setting location lovely, building potently lovely. wi fi signal was good .Rooms and bed clean

So many,,, the bar staff stopped taking cash very early. The Bar closed very early, like midnight. The Staff are very poorly or not trained at all many students . The amount of staff on for a very busy Sunday morning was a joke. The lovely Italian garden is so run down and dilapidated, so sad it could not be maintained. The finishes inside hide the plaster features instead of showing them off. My son had no hot water one morning don’t know if it was resolved. The staff and Hotel all appeared unsupervised. Some of my party complained about the curtness of the receptionist; she was ok to me but a naturally severe person. A 1£ was added to my bill for a charity, nice idea but that is a personal choice of people and show not be imposed. Do you write to all the people later who you took a Pound from and give them a cop of the Charity receipt you should you know?

"Found it very noisy during the night including laundry delivery at 5.30 am."

Close to railway station. Staff efficient.

Shower cubicle had no soap dish or shelf and shower head very high. Room very small and cramped.

"only stayed one night but happy in general with stay"

the service in reception and at breakfast were excellent, even though there was a coach party at breakfast, we were shown to a seperate room. Choice at breakfast very good.

the room was rather on the small side for a double room although bearing in mind the price it was value for money

"At the price this was a really enjoyable experience - ignore the bad reviews you see, it's great value with tremendously helpful front of house staff. It's relaxed and comfortable, almost a home from home. If you're in Chester on a budget I definitely recommend you stay here but have breakfast at the Town Crier pub opposite the station 50 yards up the road."

Really really nice staff who couldn't be more helpful, and simply tremendous value for money.

The breakfast buffet was a bit tired but then again I didn't go until 9.15

"Good to get away but would not stay there again."

Reception staff couldnt do enough for us

The room was very cold Had to ask staff several times to switch heating on. First Meal in the evening spent at hotel restaraunt. The menu in the room bore no relation to menu in restaraunt. The meals we chose was not in stock the charge for the options we did choose cost £53.00 which seemed expensive as we did not get the option we wanted.

"Hotel was immaculate staff friendly and helpful room immaculate only down side to the stay was the food in the restaraunt at the evening was very disappointing, yes i would stay in hotel again but we would not eat in the restaraunt we would go elsewhere"

"Enjoyed the weekend accepting we stayed in a basic one or at best two star hotel."

Food and general attitude of staff good.

Room too small Bar lacked atmosphere not helped by decor. Nearly three quarters of hour waiting for a bottle of wine is not on, told it was not on the wine list althugh we had ordered from the list and was repeating the wine we had been servered the previous night. The wine was fetched from sister hotel the Queen, would not been easier to have told it was out stock and we could have selected an alternative.

"over priced for what it is!! £70-£80 a night"

the breakfast was nice, thats about it!

the filthy curtains in the room, everything was inches thick with dust, the bedding covers smelled funny, the whole hotel was old fashioned & cheap looking, needs a good re furb

"The staff were very helpful and pleasant mannered. The hotel was clean and warm. My only complaint was that the room itself was really very small and cramped for two people in twin beds."

The breakfast was excellent with a wonderful array of food being offered and the waiting staff were very prompt at service and also prompt at clearing the tables once the customers left.

"Enjoyed our stay in Chester but felt abit dissapointed with hotel."

My wife enjoyed the breakfast here.

Found a sock under bed...This was not ours. Carparking cost ridiculous at £7 for 24 hours and at this hotles sister hotel...price for car parking should be included. Our room was dark and quite dingy, if we had been staying for longer would have asked to have moved. The shower also blew air with water and was actually windy on the shower. Attention to detail just not there.

All very good, liked the table in reception, with fruit & biscuits The receptionist when I arrived around 17.30 was great a man, sorry I didn't get the name

No bad points, well a little one, the room was very warm/hot, but soon rectified that by turning the room heating off
