"very relaxing stay. we stayed in a standard room which i think i would have been dissapointed with if i had paid the usual amount of £135 with no breakfast. But we paid £114 with dinner and it was a lovely break."
Excellent restaurant service and food. Room was very clean.

"Despite my negative comments the hotel is far, far superior to the chains of budget hotels I have been forced to stay occasionally, it just needs a bit of sprucing up. "
A nice quiet relaxing hotel, the lounge staff were very accommodating in providing a healthy meal for my 2 year old grandson, who lives locally. The staff always had a ready smile.
Hotel is looking tired, furniture and paintword are chipped and could do with an update.

Food good - "wine as you dine" deal represents good value. Leisure facilities excellent.

Lovely spot and convenient. Wev were not informed at registration that we could've had a more reasonable priced breakfast untoil the day we checked out. 12.95 per person for a family is expensive and particularly so if one does not wish a whole breakfast. Of interest is that Morrisons down the road sells and excellent breakfast for about 4 to 5 pounds. The swimming pool and gymn are excellent.

"All the bad points with the exception of the room temperature could be tolerated as the hotel was otherwise quite pleasant."
Nice atmosphere and surroundings in a nice area. Staff were polite and helpful. The food was very enjoyable.
The room was too hot to sleep in and there was no air conditioning. Only managed 1.5 hours sleep. Bathroom very small and had to duck down under the shower. Had to wait 20 minutes to be seated for breakfast and there appeared to be understaffing in the dining area. No glasses available for fruit juice, no brown sauce available, some plates not properly cleaned. No bread roll served with evening meal the previous night.

"family rooms situated in old part of hotel with no lift facilities offered alternative rooms which were worse was not offered any upgrade or money off my stay, nowhere near what i would expect of a 4 star hotel.I believe your description of the rooms on your website are very misleading."

"We stayed on a dinner bed and breakfast basis with a bottle of wine included the Table le d'hote menu food was absolutly excellent as was the service Please pass on our thanks to the Chef and staff for making our stay a real pleasureUnfortunatly we did not want to miss breakfast in the morning so we did not get to sample the excellent leisure facilities."
Clean neat and tidy. although close to a main road no noise problems
The outside of the front of the hotel does not do the inside justice.

"Overall the hotel was very good. Really easy to find, good parking, the staff were really friendly and helpful, the leisure facilities were very relaxing, layout of hotel really good with nice gardens. The Sunday night package was very good value for money. It was also not too far from Cheshire Oaks so on Monday had the opportunity for some retail therapy!"
Big room, shower with power. Great dinner and the leisure facilities were really good.
Our room was above the lounge and the music came through all the time even in the morning - on a roll so repeated again and again.

"The facilities were very good, the food at the restaurant was excellent and lovely. The staff were very pleasant, however the room was average and quite noisy, the quoted bath was more of a shower cubical and the shower wasn't very good either. but all together we enjoyed our stay here."

Location
Service was very poor. Main problem seemed to be not enough staff. Us and others had to request reception to get someone to serve at the bar where sometimes queues were forming.

"Convenient hotel for Chester and Birkenhead. Standard room is not good value. Upgraded room was very reasonable."
staff were very responsive
initial room was standard double - should read very small double. it was too hot and one of the 2 openable windows was jammed shut - but they changed our room without fuss
from London UK, stayed on October 24, 2007
Not much. The bed was quite comfortable and the bathroom OK.
The room looked shabby: chipped woodwork, etc. Decor unimaginative. An irritating detail was a light switch that was fixed at a slight angle - smacked of shoddy workmanship/job done on the cheap, and an urgent need for renovation.

Slection and quality of hot food at breakfast was poor.

The rooms were clean and nicely decorated and the reception area was clean and modern
The four rooms we booked were spread over different floor and different sides of the hotel which was inconvenient, we would have all prefered to be closer together

"Everything about our stay was perfect! The website on which we booked was informative and gave us a good description of the hotel and amenities. The hotel was beautifully presented, and the staff were all extremely helpful, friendly and made our stay a very happy one. The restaurant was lovely and the food was outstanding - I have to say it was one of the nicest meals we have had in a long time!"
The accommodation was perfect, the room was beautiful, clean and well presented. I loved the size of the bedroom and bathroom, and the view was lovely from our window.

"The room was a good size and well equiped. The staff were excellent nothing was too much trouble. The piano playing whilst we had dinner was a lovely touch. The spa facilities were excellent and very relaxing. We would definately stay at this hotel again. The only thing I would like to have known prior to our weekend was that I needed to book any beauty treatments a few weeks in advance because they are very busy."

" Super "
Terrific friendly atmosphere everything ran as smoothly as my home does. We were able to entertain friends easily. The flexibility of the hotel was very good. Any minor issues were immediately remodied. The children that were there were made to feel happy and secure and therefore were well behaved. We left refreshed well fed but not fattenedwe are looking forward to our next visit. Any help with reward points or offers would be appreceiated We normally visit weekends and holidays.
There is a view of Chester skyline from the carpark on our nightly strole bat watching and it would have been nice to identify the variety of historic spires I will send an email if I get this done before you do.
