"The room was adequate but decor very poor and room was dirty."

"We enjoyed our stay and the location was excellent - BUT we would look around elsewhere in Bath before booking again. But what nice staff!!. This hotel has such potential to be so much better."

Very polite and helpful staff. Superbly located hotel just a short stroll into the centre of Bath and the main tourist attractions/restaurants etc.

This hotel has seen far better days - it is in need of serious updating and improvement. Decor and general cleanliness is below par for this city on the main tourist "trail". Watch out also for the very limited car park - 10 spaces in a "free for all" fight to get one. Customers often blocked in waiting to get out!

"Warm and comfortable room but the room culd have done with redecorating as the colour scheme was rather overpoweringPURPLE WALLS AND RED CARPETS.Breakfast was very good and plentiful."

Very good location for shopping and sightseeing.

The bathroom could have done with being cleaner on arrival. The paintwork was needy of a new coat and the walls had been emulsioned over where the damp patches were and a few broken tiles on the floor needed replacing.

very central to bath and all attractions, excellent buffet for breakfast, and staff very pleasent.

room adequate but no more, in need of update really, tv not working, but as a place just to sleep and shower was fine.

"nice staff, clean room and good breakfast, as a one night visit I enjoyed the stay. interesting car park, no room for error."

excellent location near town centre, provided good access to view most places of interest.

room 3 a basement room that is looked down upon by members of the passing public, hence the curtains were required to be closed all day. no view at all or natural daylight!!

    "Not happy"

Excellent location; very small car park, but lucky to have one at all so close to the town centre; good bar and lounge; good service from receptionists; breakfast OK

Room far too cramped; I have never experienced such a small bathroom anywhere in the world; and the plumbing is unspeakable

Breakfast was well presented and tasted great. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Good location for walking to the centre of Bath. Good car parking.

Room was looking tired and in need of some TLC.

"Enjoyed our stay and although the room state was not a huge problem it did spil the overall view. Would stay here again but specify room!"

Hotel is very central for all the attractons of Bath. Easy to reach by car and car park although small was a bonus. Staff very friendly and breakfast was excellent and plentiful.

We had 2 rooms. One was very spacious, the other was just the opposite. No bedside lights, kettle plugged in standing on the floor as no suitable plug socket. TINY wardrobe not big enough to hang anything and no hooks for outdoor coats - had to hang in bathroom. Both rooms in need of some TLC.

"central location close to pubs, retaurants and tourist attractions with basic facilities in room."

central location, staff at reception helpful finding phone number for a restaurant

room accomodation basic standard i.e.inadequate lighting no over mirror light in bathroom, no light you could switch on as you came in the door; nylon shower curtain - unhygienic as cannot be cleaned between guests; no safety mat in bath for shower; bath enamel chipped with sharp edge; dirty, torn net curtains in room;'hot'food at breakfast cold. Off street parking is very limited

THE BREAKFAST WAS GOOD ALTHOUGH SELECTION OF FRUIT VERY STRANGE

THE BATHROOM WAS VERY OLD AND NO LOFT HATCH WHICH MADE YOU FEEL VERY UNCOMFORTABLE IN THE SHOWER. DECOR NEEDED ALOT TO BE DESIRED HOTEL ROOM DESPERATELY NEEDED A RE VAMP.

Good location - within walking distance of many attractions. Quiet.

"Generally this hotel is over priced , it's in a good location and that's the only thing in its favor , in need of a refurbishment . Staff freindly."

Staff freindly , although confusion over getting the right key

Plumbing / shower , 1st room we had water pressure for the shower , changed rooms water from this shower either freezing cold or boiling hot.

"overall, satisfactory. we would have benefitted from more information about the different standard of room when booking online...could I have got a better room if I had paid a little more? staff were great and we coudn't have asked for a better location, even if parking was a little stressful...."

helpful staff. nice breakfast room with good service. good check in and staff looked after our car for us. handy bar area and nice seating. great location.

room was too hot, decoration ok, we had no hot water in the afternoon but that was rectified later. en suite facilities v. basic ie. no bath no socket for the kettle, so we had to hunt for a socket and plug it in next to the TV. no snacks in the room. not much of a view from room 105!! very noisy through the night.

"in a prime position for visiting the main town"

clean and comfortable, staff very helpfull, but hotel looking a bit tired.

car parking was first come first served but space was limited and cars parked so that you could not get out the next morning until staff assisted in shuffuling cards around

the hotel was clean and the staff were helpful and kind. the reception area and dining room were very nice, the breakfast was lovely and staff very accomodating.

I was very disappointed with the room that I was given, it was too hot, dark and the t.v did not work properly and could not be fixed. The bathroom was very basic.

"The only really good thing about this hotel is the location. Visitor than that I really don't think I would stay in this hotel again due to the cleanliness."

Good location with easy access to all Bath sites on foot. The breakfast was good and the wait staff helpful/efficient in the dining room during breakfast.

No water pressure in bathroom bath/shower making showering a miserable experience. Linens were dirty, especially the pillows were stained and there were no pillow cases available for use at all. Also, no lifts for use so remember this when packing as I had to carry my bag up 3 flights of stairs.

"It was basic and lacked 'freshness', rooms and most of the deco did seem a bit tired. But it was adequate especially if you are out most of the day. Its not a place where you would want to spend a lot of your time."

Close to city centre and the staff were friendly

Breakfast food wasnt very appetising, canned fruit etc...Double room was really small, especially the bathroom and the bed wasnt especially comfortable.

"We had to check out early as we couldn't face going in the bedroom."

    Helpful with parking. Breakfast adequate.

Water, maybe also urine coming up from tiles near the toilet in bathroom. Very wet carpet at the door of the bathroom. No fan in bathroom. Bedroom smelled maybe that was why the window was well opened when we arrived. Large indent in the bed. No main light in room. Television was blurred and crackled the longer you left it on. Very hot pipe running through the bedroom, couldn't turn it off. Room very depressing.

    bathroom was clean.

Springs stuck out of the matress, which was old and disgusting. Hot room, with poor ventilation. Bedding was old and tired. TV was tiny and volume was faulty on remote. Shower curtain didn't fit.

conveniently placed, but hotel state that they have a car park. They do, but it is very small. I had to pay to park on the street.Receptionist was pleasant.

Dinner should be avaialble at a hotel. Tired and depressing hotel

"I will most certainly pay a little extra as the hotel we stayed in last year for only £20 per couple more was far superior"

The hotel was well located for the city.It was relatively inexpensive for the position.

The hotel is most certainly in need of upgrading, and the outside pictures shown on line are somewhat deceptive.
