Staff extremely friendly, helpful and willing to go out of their way to assist with any request. Restaurant provided a quite extensive menu of Western & Indian food -- the Indian was excellent. Efficient transportation service to & from Gatwick airport.
Our room was small, and didn't meet standards many international travellers expect of a hotel e.g. fabrics didn't match and decor was a bit shabby. Local teenagers use the bar in the evening but didn't cause any problems that we were aware of, despite looking intimidating.

Mainly clean bedding a must for me
Only problem i had was, i wasn't told that there would't be clean towels but i only stayed 2 nights so this didn't matter so much.

"Very basic, but the security issues are very concerning."
The cost was fair
Very small breakfast, BAD security. You have to leave your room key at reception on your way out and there is not always someone manning the reception. One morning I left my key on the table at reception and when i returned that evening, it was still in the same place, meaning that anyone could have picked it up during the day and gone into my room. Not good at all.

"The transfer to and fro the airport worked fine, the breakfast was adequate, but if I hadn't been exhausted I don't think I'd have been able to sleep at all due to the bad smell and the bug. "
My room had an awful smell of mildew, the bedspread was dirty and when I was lying in bed reading a small black bug crept up off the floor to join me....

Hotel appeared to be run down, rooms and lounge area looked in need of renovation, staff were uninterested and bordering on rude, cook was late for breakfast which time had been specifically booked in advance as I was catching a plane, several clients were inconvenienced in this same way.

None. This is the worst hotel I have stayed at in 25 years. Old, smelly, dirty, room with mismatched cheap furniture that was probably bought at boot sale or salvaged from a junk heap.

there is nothing good about this hotel. to be precise, the employee at the checkout told us this is not a hotel it is a DRAMA HOTEL...this were his words.

Staff pleasant - transport to/from airport good - able to leave car at hotel during holiday whilst abroad.
No specific time given for checkout - Seemed to be an expectation of "as early as possible". This may have been a wrong impression but when you arrive in the early hours for your stay the last thing you want to think about is how early you can be gone ! Overall the good points out-weigh the bad point.

Full english breakfast was good and speedy
Carpet in room was filthy with long ingrained dirt. My feet were dirty from just stepping out of bed and going to toilet. Either doona or bed had "bed bugs" in it. I was bitten alive and had 15-20 welts from being bitten. I do not know how it has a 3 star rating, nor do I understand how it has passed health or licencing checjs in order to remainb open as a hotel.

when met by the driver on our return we were met with a surcharge by him that was at no time mentioned anywhere through the booking process even though they were aware of our arrival time.

My ground floor room seriously needed a revamp. Polystyrene ceiling tiles looked a mess. Shower opening so small I had to squeeze in one boob at a time!!!

They were polite.
Information concerning hotel was incorrect. Restaurant was Indian Cuisine, was not advised of that. Stated free transportation 24/7, incorrect. They limit the times of free transportation. Stated my room would be 50.pd, they charged me 55.pd. Information given concerning the hotel/B&B should be correct. They imply it is a very lovely and special place to stay. It is just a place to sleep.

Tired, run-down place. More a 1950's Guest House than an Hotel. Tiny TV with no satellite. Breakfast cut-off time is 0830hrs, every day, much too early.

Clean, warm,nice to be taken to and fro airport. Nice lounge.
Staff was never unfriendly, I simply had a feeling they were having problems between themselves and this affected their interaction with the public, as in a reserve that comes from a preoccupation with other matters, perhaps personal matters. As I said, never unfriendly, but this affected the general atmosphere.

I could very easy hear other people, walking in the hotel, when I was in my room. No place to have my luggage, only a little bit of the floor. Perhaps better in other rooms?
