" I had everything I needed for reasonable price"
Shower was really nice and powerfull, exactly what I needed after long working day and few hours driving
Walls are really thin, I could hear absolutely everything happening next door, luckily I had ear plugs

"A good break and convenient for visiting Birmingham's Franfurt Christmas Market"
Free parking within walking distance of City Centre Interesting location -by historic canal system perhaps more information about this could be available in the hotel Food reasonable value for money though not very high quality -see below Staff were pleasant and helpful
We were disturbed during the early hours of Saturday morning by loud talking and door banging in the corridor. Buffet system for breakfast and for starters means that quality tends to deteriorate over the time it is left out.

I had asked to be moved to a double room if one became available as only twin room available on web site. On arrival I had not been moved even though there were several double rooms available. I was moved when I mentioned this on checking in.

"Satisfactory."
Directions on booking form were accurate. Room adequate and no faulty equipment TV worked, shower good, etc.. Staff courteous and friendly. Hotel in good location for visiting centre of Birmingham.
Checking-in took longer than expected, possibly because of staff inexperience or inadequate training. Surprised that there was no residents' bar available after 11:30 pm.

"My third visit and not disappointed"
Young, enthusiastic, cosmopolitan staff; excellent dining facilities, good cooking and nice "buzz" in the restaurant; no hidden extras; no paying for unnecessary extras - one gets what one needs, and at a good price, and is not irritated by paying for what one doesn't need
The decor in the bedroom/bathroom was boring - a bit of contrast colour would be nice as in the restaurant which has lovely colour mix.

"Enjoyable. Would be repeated."
Food excellent Bed comfortable Parking good Staff excellent
Bathroom inadequately ventilated Woken up by people outside the hotel several times through the night. Thought we had paid on-line - process needs to be clearer.

Food quality was amazing, given the prices charged. Staff were very helpful without being intrusive. Bed was large and comfortable and shower was powerful and bathroom was large. Would recommend staying there again.
Room only had 2 plug sockets, with the rooms tv in one. None were provided by the bed. I think this is an oversight given most people have a mobile, and when travelling may bring other electronic devices which would need charging.

"a pleasant stay overall"
friendliness of staff, willingness to provide extra coffee, good breakfast with lots of choice
plughole of bath rusty, bath too short, not enough tea coffee and milk in the room, curtain too small let brightness in, walls too thin allowed too much noise, the breakfast was a bit expensive

Good facilities, helpful staff
Hotel has lost its "Frenchness" with no French staff

"Business hotel, good quality! "
Clean, good food, good bed
Not much hospitality. Only young French people, difficult to communicate Early closing hours bar sunday night. Hotel asks for advance payments overnight stay and breakfast. That is not friendly.

"excellent , would use this hotel again , and plan to use again next year for crufts "
very clean , staff very pleasent and helpful. Massive bonus was no extra charge for the dog, as we were exhibiting at crufts for the first time , and for that alone i would use this hotel again
annoying alarm on the TV wouldnt stop, but the staff came and sorted it and offered to move us to a different room or bring in a different TV if the problem persisted

"very enjoyable and comfortable stay"
I found staff extremely polite, friendly and helpful and enjoyed the fact that my children got breakfast for free. My bed was very cosy, the water very hot and the room warm and quiet.
Bath was titchy, I'm very tall! The information on the website was inaccurate regarding a free bed for under 16yr olds, I booked a room soley because I wanted an extra childs bed and got into an argument on the phone with reception staff, until they read their own site and saw that it was indeed inaccurate as they didn't provide a free extra bed. However they did rebook me a bigger room for the same price, which was fair.

"Very cheap overnight accommodation with parking and not too far from the centre of the city - ideal. Pub crawl was brilliant top marks to the Old Royal and Judas Priest were absolutely fantastically awesome!!!!"
Easy access from the motorway, ample parking, comfortable bed and good shower
Er, there weren't really any bad points!

"Not going to happen again"
all the facilities worked ok
it was as if the hotel had gone out of their way to say 'we're cheap'. Appalling decor in the room and bathroom, microscopic soap etc. Yes it is a budget hotel but it takes little to choose decent colours and not give the feeling of a 1970's East German training camp - never would we use the Campanile chain again, it is just too depressing, despite the low ish cost.

"Not greatest experience, not very modern and not worth the money at £44."
Staff very friendly and helpful particularly on the morning/afternoon shift following day.
Room not good value for £44 especially when it was only £35 if booked directly through hotel as opposed to Active Hotels. Poor, old fashioned decor, bathroom floor flooded upon using shower even though curtain fully in bath. Very cheap quality kettle which would not stop boiling and had to be manually turned off, whereupon it burned my hand as handle not insulated. Breakfast set up was ridiculous if checkout is not until 12pm, why is breakfast only until 10am? I missed breakfast as had a late night out and wasn't feeling up to eating breakfast before 10am. They say snacks available in room up until restaurant open at 7pm, yet had to go and collect them myself and were cold by time went to get them although, quality of the food was very good. Believe they need to revisit their food timings. Booked two rooms and my sister's bathroom smelled very strongly of urine and was unpleasant to bathe in they did offer to let her change room, but would then have been very far away from me. Also, guests next door to my sister were a group of young women who were running along corridor and banging doors very loudly - she shouted at them to stop but they seemed to be allowed to run riot in the early hours of the morning.

"For the price, no real complaints. But for a few pounds more and sometimes up to "
Relatively clean, comfortable and well priced.
Small room, small TV, dated bathroom and worst of all, a bed that was on wheels and kept moving!

"I wouldn't stay again on a Saturday night as the hotel seems to cater for the customers who are using the suites for parties, wedding receptions etc, and the loud music was a problem"
clean, room good quality for money
loud music from a wedding reception Had to ask twice to get the music turned down as it was easily heard in the room
