"Like the convenience and will be back."

Nice friendly staff, like the use of the pool. Lovely setting and very convenient for travel.

Poor selection of meals. The restaraunt is very expensive for what is available and the meal in the Swan was awful. The pork was very very tough. Next time I think we will go into town for something to eat.

great location, nice comfortable lounge in bar area

Most expensive pint i have every paid for, not sure how you can justify £4.20. The room was a bit tired and in need of decoration

Beautiful gardens, nice facilities; good reputation

Poor choice of food/refreshments provided at a connected function the day after, at the same hotel, which marred our overall impression/experience.

Clean, good value for room anyway, easy check in/out, free parking

Prices in the bar - £7 for a Bloody Mary! £4.20 for a pint of lager! Also when watching Sky Sports 1 in room, every few minutes screen would go to list of channels for a few seconds.

"It was just what we needed for a place to stay when we attended a wedding at Wakehurst Place and needed to catch an early morning flight the morning after."

Reasonable price, quiet and well kept. Easy to find and convenient to Wakehurst Place and Gatwick.

"Only complaint was that I booked the hotel under my name. I rang the hotel the day before to request an early check in and they could not find my booking. After speaking to about 5 different departments we eventually found the booking under my partners name."

"Would come back if had to go to a meeting in the area"

    Excellent staff and service

dont think the a la carte menu was big enough, not enough car parking spaces for overnight/short stay people

room very nice, also thought it was great to book at such short notice - in the morning - before setting out in a blizzard here in Wales

"Not worth paying the extra for a club room and they need to sort out the heating. Take a quilt with you if you want to be warm!! "

    Handy for Gatwick Airport

Paid extra for a Club room, the bed was uncomfortable, it was very cold romm and the heating was pathetic. A very thin quilt led to a very restless night due to being so cold. Reception seemed unconcerned. The hotel does not seem to be of the same quality as it was when I used to stay here 8-10 years ago.

The rooms are extremely tired both in terms of decor and facilities. The bathrooms are perticularly poor. The standard of bed linens and towels are poor

"Was ok and suited us and handy to leave our car at the hotel, so overall we would do it again."

There wasn't a phone number on the site for one to ring and ask any questions. When we arrived back at Gatwick had to phone hotel to ask where the coach was and was told there was a yellow phone and ring the number to see when the next bus was coming but noone answered the phone! Had rather a long wait but obviously just missed a bus, perhaps smaller buses a little more often might be a good idea to save on fuel and also when we got the bus there was only 5 persons in a large bus, but not a big problem except when you're a bit tired after travelling!

    "A comfortable stay."

The hotel was clean and fresh, and the food served was good.

The Staff could have been more friendly.

"perfectly ok for what we needed - ie an overnight stop while visiting daughter - special weekend rate was ok - would not have stayed here if paying the full price - too much"

good breakfast, room comfortable, directions and access good, pleasant ambience, facility to check in late in evening useful

Inadequate parking - completely full when we arrived and was eventually told to park in hotel coach stopping area. Bar a bit "plastic" and soul-less, didn't seem able to turn out bedside light on one side from a bedside switch

"For the reasons of the cost of the food - value for money we would not stay here again."

Hotel has nice character, and public areas are fine. We booked a Club Room and these are OK, if a bit tired.

The cost of food is exorbitant. A breakfast for circa £18.00 and buffet dinner at a similar price is ridiculous for what you receive. We regularly use Holiday Inn's and their charges are far more reasonable for a comparative product. Secondly the hotel offers a park and fly facility. With car parked literally in every open space that is accessible from the road/ drive, it smacks of commercial exploitation in preference to providing your customers with a welcoming experience. We took ages to find a car parking space.

Nice spacious and clean room comfortable bed.

For £94.00, I was amazed that the stay didn't include breakfast., also, being our wedding night as stated on our booking form Would have thought it been a nice touch to have had A little something in the room. even if only A welcome or congratulation card. Only found tea and coffee making facilities by accident the next day as shoved away in a cupboard with little on offer. Have paid A lot less and received far better value for money at other hotels. Was A shame as we had had A perfect day.

"This was our third stay at this hotel and the bedrooms are in definate need of an update"

    Excellent staff

No parking, original room had its windows nailed shut and smelt of smoke, wallpaper was yellowing, however we were offered two alternative rooms and eventually swapped

The carvery choice was very poor all the foods were spicy, looked and tasted as though they had been out for a few hour and as we are both chefs we should know. While we sat there none of the food was replenished. For a hotel of that standard it was very poor

Room smelt very damp - unpleasant and probably unhealthy Shower inadequate - sprayed water everywhere except straight Was charged for a film, despite booking having free film - had to ask for it to be removed

"Have stayed at this hotel a few times. Although generally very good, the housekeeping staff appear to always forget to appropriately stock the room for arrival eg only one bath robe, insufficient coffee, missing soft drinks etc."

Good hotel layout, very presentable. Attentive staff. Good food with a good selection. Large well maintained grounds.

During the night, water leaked in from the room above. Had to move to an adjacent vacant room. The advertised free mineral/soft drinks were not in the room fridge on arrival. Carpark overly packed due to the number of park/fly customers which is a pain when popping out in the evening only to return to the hotel and find no available parking spaces.

It was close to the airport

We booked in at 9.25 pm and were told once we had booked that you could not get food after 9.30 other than room service! Having travelled since 3a.m. that morning we just wanted to relax with a nice meal and a couple of drinks! Unfortunately you could not provide the meal which reminded us of how hotels used to be in the 20th century! I decided then to use the cash machine and go outside to a proper restaurant but.... you

TV did not work, despite maintenance being called. Some facilitites a bit run-down. Garden needs work!

"We liked the place and have used it at least twice before but the bad points are getting too tiresome"

    buildins/location/staff

Shutttle busses were too infrequenet - we had to wait about half an hour on our return - This alone will make us try another hotel next time - unless you tell me you have done something Price of Breakfast - Ludicrous

"The hotel was ok, and the booking was simple. The pub was very disappointing and when you looked around the grounds you noticed how run down and unkempt the place was. For one night the room was comfortable, however it was over priced and disappointing."

The comfort of the room. The bathroom cleanliness.

The resturant was very dusty and needed to be cleaned. The bread at breakfast was completely stale and very very disappointing.

"We entertained a party of 12 to dinner at the hotel and, at their suggestion, dined in the bistro. All of the party chose from the a la carte menu, as opposed to the buffet alternative, and we had to wait for over two hours before the main course was finally served. On complaining I was advised by the Restuarant Manager that the kitchen was unable to cope with this number of a la carte diners. Any prospective customers hoping to entertain clients should be aware of this restriction."

Accommodation was comfortable and clean with everything in working order

Rooms were rather too warm with little control through a/c system

"the hotel details before booking were very good,i have stayed here before and its good for a last minute get away but it really needs some tlc and better inclusive rates, it cost £263 for 1 night with a two course meal and Cold breakfast we thought this was included! To be honest.we have stayed in many hotels with higher ratings/acommadation and spent far less."

very easy to get to, nice bar to sit in and relax, choices of places to eat.lovely grounds, beautiful i would think to enjoy in the summer.lovely evening meal in fine dinning resturant.

the bedrooms/bathrooms need updating.. we paid £100 for the night and breakfast wasnt included in Any deals,We have stayed in central london in a four star thames hotel and had better deals @ £79 INCLUSIVE of full english..the copthorne was £15 for breakfast and it was cold, below standard.
