"Very pleasent but may decide next time to eat out."
Nice room, clean and confortable, easy parking and realxing atmosphere.
The food in the restaraunt was not good, prefer more basic menu and the menu was limited. We stayed two nights and there was no change nor any daily specials.

"One minor point, the set dinner menu included in the romantic package would benefit from some vegetables as a side dish for those with bigger appetites."
Lovely hotel room, very spacious and with some nice touches - romantic package booked
No negatives except the weather !

The room was very nice and large as was the bed.

the hotel staff are very efficient and friendly, the food is very good and the service is good and I would probably stay here again but there are points that they need to address
the rooms are very hot.... actually unbearably hot the rooms are shabby i.e. wallpaper ripped, curtains worn although the food and the service is good the staff do not give much thought to what is going on a room service tray e.g. I had boiled eggs for breakfast and the only cutlery on the tray was a knife, fork and a very large tablespoon which certainly would not fit into an egg!

"average hotel, with above average costs."
Wedding venue / food, friendlyness of staff good.
Small cluttered room, large crack in ceiling, and along wall. Staff in resturant at breakfast, did not wear gloves or use tongs, the openly handled rolls, pastries and bread. No tongs available for guests to handle the above mentioned items.

"very good, and I would recommend this hotel and its staff to anyone."
Checking in a long while before checking in time, very helpful staff on checking in and when a problem occured in the morning.
noise late at night 2am by other guests running up and down the corridor, this was due to a wedding being held at the hotel. The hotel did put an apology letter in the room warning guest of this event and what they had done to try to limit the problems that might occur.

"Good bad points probably out of your control but worth an investigation"
Clean premises & help
I had a room without air con it was very hot so I had the windows open. I am not sure at what time but early hours of the morning a van was loading and then a female was talking on her mobile for sometime. Late about 6.30 am the same thing happened with 2 men.So very noisey car park. I was in room 141

"Very Good. I would definitely recommend the Bull, and would stay there again."
helpful and friendly staff at check-in and check-out. Good sized room, good facilities.
Breakfast was a bit chaotic in terms of table settings and attentiveness of staff. It was quite a busy Sunday morning and it seemed like the staff had difficulty handling that.

"Very good. Would definitely stay again, if find myself in that area."
Staff very helpful when I rang to ask about accomodating child bed in room following Internet booking. Free upgrade much appreciated. Lovely room.
Internet booking does not make sufficient provision for booking a room with guaranteed child Z-bed for younger children.

"Obviously the building works is a distraction, which forced me to stay in another hotel one night as water penetrated some rooms. I did appreciate the bottle of wine as an apology for inconvenience. Having only one staff member on reception in the morning is inadequate. Long time to check out, with constant phone call interuptions. The bar has a nice atmosphere."
No stocked mini-bar

"There was nothing I needed to know that wasn't already known. I will gladly stay at the hotel again and would be pleased to recommend it to friends and family."
The accommodation was very comfortable and included lots of amenities e.g. a 'fridge/safe and all the usual facilities as well
The view was not very nice.

"I felt that the staff were disrespondent, on check in they couldn't find the correct booking. Breakfast service was poor we had to wait 20 minutes for butter and tea. The leak in the bathroom caused the bath to fill with murky brown water which I had to clean myself as the phone in my room did not work. Overall I was disappointed with my stay."
I thought the common areas looked nice and modern however they did have a number of leaks
My bedroom had a leak in the bathroom through the light fitting which I told reception about but nothing was done, also the floorboards on the corridor outside my room creaked and made the bed jump everytime someone walked past

"We were very disappointed with the restaurant, the main course was not well cooked, chicken was very tough, and looked as if it had been reheated many times - Rump of Lamb was very red, and my Husband actually asked for Sea Bass - and was given Lamb which he accepted as we had to join the wedding reception that evening. He was also not asked how he would have liked it cooked. We had a bottle of champgane which was included in the room rate, when we asked if we could have it with out dinner, the bottle was just put on the table with no ice bucket - we had to ask for one. The Breakfast was also not very nice, looked as it had been standing for a a long time we are used to buffet breakfasts - but this one was not nice at all the eggs were precooked and looked awful just to have someone to cook fresh fried eggs and ommlettes would make such a difference. As explained previously, we were so pleased with the room, at first said that we would come again just for an overnight stay - but once we eat in the restaurant this would not be the case. Hope that you take these comments seriously, as this was the major complaint for out stay and I do not usually bother to provide feedback, but as this is such a nice hotel, you need to take these comments on board."
When we first saw the room was very pleased with presentation, high class fixtures, cleanliness, layout etc
Very noisy - sounded like some sort of air conditioning unit which kept on clicking off and on all night, was not our room air conditioner/heating as this was switched off.

"Booking through the internet for this hotel was not successful; we phoned to check the day before travelling to be told that we did not have a reservation although we did have a booking reference and a confirmation email. Suggest you check your web site. The hotel was suffering from the effects of building work that was on going but still maintained a reasonable degree of comfort although the bedrooms on the second floor were far to hot."

Bedrooms on 2nd Floor far to hot

"I enjoyed for the second time the hotel, but would like to be able if possible to choose where my room is located, which you cannot do on the internet, especially when there are functions going on in the hotel."
We like the atmosphere of the Hotel and are impressed by the attention to detail.
We stayed on the Saturday night and there was a party of some sort going on. We could not get to sleep until 4am due to the noise by the guests attending said party. There was a lot of noise within the hotel and outside the hotel front door. Althoug I appreciate people are having fun there are other guests in the hotel and had I been a business traveler and suffered this sort of disturbance at the prices your hotel charges I would have been livid. Surely some effort needs to be made to curtail loud behaviour lasting into the early hours.

"I have stayed in hundreds of hotels and to be honest for the price it is just not good value. "
location is good. Bar area is really nice. Lots of parking.
Room linen wass clean but the room did not feel clean, mini bar empty, television not working properly. Woken before nine in the morning by someone from the hotel but not the cleaner, could not hear what he said. Booking system was difficult to use according to the staff. The front doors are "dangerous", they open quickly and abruptly.
