"Comfortable, and friendly, and ideally placed for onward journey."

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms. Nice Piano

No Bath matt until asked for, which as the bath surface becomes slippery when wet, this could have caused an accident. Thick quilt sheet overhanging which could cause fall.

"Reasonable hotel apart from dinner prices."

    Clean. Friendly staff.

Restaurant expensive, I ordered a steak for dinner £10.50, chips extra £2.50, peas, onion rings, etc. extra £2.50 each item.

"Satisfactory but will not be top of the list for another visit."

Clean, functional. Very nice bath. Comfy bed. Food in restaurant was fairly nice.

Room service closed before stated time i.e. chef went home early which menat we had to leave hotel for food when we wanted to stay put. Noisy guests returned at 5am in the morning and member of staff was shouting to them in the corridor regarding something to do with their bill I think they had ordered some wine for the room. Noisy guests continued to stay up till 6am chatting loudly. Paper was not delivered as stated. Telly was laughably tiny for size of room.

"I'm a wheelchair user plus blind and found the room a touch small to get round by myself in the wheelchair so my partner had to help. The bathroom door was small to get a wheelchair through and if my chair was a large one no way it would have got through the door. Very nice room and cosy. At about 4.30 a couple was in next room put the radio on loud and chatted loudly so my partner and I couldn't sleep."

"Bedroom fine, if the double bed a little small! Bathroom poor and in need of some re-decoration. Evening waiting staff not brilliant. Overall not horrendous but certainly not even up to the standard of some budget hotels."

    Food good, check-in good,bedroom good

Bathroom like a narrow box - shower really for hand held only, to stand under shower you needed to stand on the plughole and then there was no power in the shower itself. Televison in bedroom poor sound - but blasted out excellent sound in the bathroom. We ate in the hotel one night and had to wait a while for our food due to the chef dealing with the Rotary Club dinner, not a problem but the drinks we ordered at the same time as the meal did not arrive!! When we were offered "on the house" drinks to make up for the wait for food we said "yes, it wil make up for the drinks we are still waiting for"!! This was some half an hour after we had ordered.

    "Good"

Hotel was clean, the room was very comfortable, the staff were extremely helpful and the breakfasts were good. Plenty of hot water.

The bathroom of the room I stayed in could do with an update, mainly the shower and hairdryer.

    "poor value for money"

The bins werent emptied in the room, the shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold and the breakfast was appallingly bad with food lying on the hot plate for ages being dried-up and rubbery.

"My only comment is that, while check-in stAFF WERE LOVELY, THE MORNING RECEPTIONIST WAS BOTH UNHELPFUL And snippy."

it was easy to find, clean, functional.

Bathroom exceptionally small. Poor value for money compared to a Premier Inn

Staff are friendly, location is good for local amenities shops/pubs etc. The Chef does excellent food in the evenings. Parking is easy.

"Overall a pleasant experience and would stay there again. For us it would be good enough to hold a family reunion there."

Hotel easy to find, ample parking, staff friendly and helpful, good service. Very presentable. The restaurant room although a bit on the samll size was adequate and the meals were very good. Overall a pleasant experience.

For an executive double room we would have liked the bathroom to be a bit more spacious, and also the room to have a mini-bar. Hotel signage externally was broken bit like Fawlty Towers.

It was okay and easy to get to and from. Parking was sufficient and close to hotel.

The mattress had some dubious stains on it and the bathroom was a little dirty - some stains on the toilet surroundings and a lkittle dusty..

"I feel that this hotel lacked the personal touch. Reception on arrival did not make me feel welcome at all. At first she didn't even acknowledge me. There were 1 or 2 members of staff who were more helpful but the majority of the staff were just doing a job instead of providing a service. I feel that staff would benefit from customer care and communication skills training."

    plenty of room

on the ground floor, a Fire exit/emergency exit routes was blocked with trestle tables, a vacuum cleaner and steps. Door handle to bathroom was missing. Surfaces not cleaned properly in my room.

very pleasant hotel - particularly downstairs.

No TV remote control. Phone in room didn't work. No number on door. Grouting on bath messy.

"This was a terrible place to stay. The wedding that was going on made it imposible for us to get food, it was noisy all night and we were never informed that there was a wedding going on when we booked. The room looked unclean, the breakfast OK and the only joy was the free paper in the morning - not really worth it!"

    breakfast was OK

A wedding took up the whole of the dining room so when we arrived we could get no food or a drink. The small dining room set aside for other customers was set for breakfast already. After having to go out for dinner we had to endure loud music until about 3am and got no sleep. The shower/bath was grubby and there was only one tea bag each.

"Overall this was a pleasant stay, and our criticims of our room were all minor niggles which would not deter us from staying at the hotel again. The public areas are well-decorated and comfortable. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. I recommend that the management do a detailed walk-round of all rooms regularly to pick up faults like the ones we reported and warn guests at check-in."

Spacious, good bed, welcoming reception although we were late, good and well-served breakfast. Well-signposted, the route directions were very easy to follow. 2 chocolates left on the pillow - very 5* American and stylish !

We were given the Belvoir Suite - the most expensive room in the hotel but charged at standard price. The mirror in the bathroom was cracked right across, apparently from a badly fitted hairdryer unit. One window was cracked, apparently from a thrown stone or an airgun round. One bedside light bulb was broken not worth disturbing the staff at 10.30 pm, the heated bathroom towel rail valve would not open, so the bathroom was quite cool and the towels could not be heated. There were no tooth glasses in the bathroom. This was overall a shame in what was obviously a well-intentioned gesture of giving us a nice room.
