"Overall a very good value for money hotel. Very reasonably priced and I will stay there again if I need to visit the area again."
Very good value for money. The gym and leisure facilities, although small and fairly basic, were something that I was not expecting for the amount charged and really appreciated. Visitor facilities such as iron, ironing board and free internet access in the hotel room were also very useful and unexpected.
The sink plug was broken which was the only real grumble I would have. A fridge with water would have been a great addition to the room. Adding sweetners into the tea/coffee tray for diabetics such as myself would also be really handy.

"We were very pleased with the room size and it was one of the largest double rooms we have stayed in. The rooms could have had better sound-proofing and we have no idea why the radiator was making such a noise even though it wasn't switched on and it was a warm evening."
The room was spacious and the hotel overall was very clean.
There was lots of noise from adjoining rooms, suggesting that the walls were quite thin. The shower screen in the bathroom didn't fit the bath and so when you had a shower the water leaked ovr the side. The radiator made a constant loud noise even though it wasn't switched on. This lasted until about 11.30pm so not ideal if you want to go to sleep before then. The room was at the other side of the hotel from reception so it was quite a walk.

"For a 'de Vere' venue, I was surprised at the lack of luxury one normaly associates with the group. However, I asked if a 'refurb' was planned and the answer was yes."
Great pool, sauna, steam room etc. Efficient reception staff.
Bedrooms and common areas in need of a refurb!. Housekeeping very poor.My room had no hairdryer or internet cable & in desperate need of a refurb. Net curtains were very grey, walls were very scuffed & dirty. Piece of cucumber on floor.. Bathroom OK but again, decor very 'tired'. Bedroom furniture was tatty and dirty. Common walkway areas were again tatty. Carpets very dirty and dusty. Breakfast was OK but only OK. dINNER Sunday evening was very disappointing. Food was very 'tired'.

wedding and 18th birthday celebration on the saturday night of our stay that clearly got out of hand resulting in a considerably noisy and unpleasant stay - noisy parties in rooms - mess all over the floors - doors banging and people running up and down corridors until the early hours of the morning and fire alarms being set off at 1-30 - 2 am resulting in us having to stand out in the car park in the freezing cold in the middle of the night and drunken revellers from the party singing rugby songs and trying to destroy the hotel fountain!! finally got to sleep at 4 am after the fire brigade had given the all clear to return to our room before having to get up early for 6 hour drive home to the isle of wight.

Rooms and Leisure facilities were good.
No booking showed on computer when we checked in. Room was unavailable at the right time. When we ordered lunch the wrong thing came. Service at evening meal was poor. It was slow and the waiter didnt know where any of the meals were supposed to go.

Very pleasant staff. A clean and 'smart' looking interior. The room was also very good.
My husband wished to use the gym facilities on Sunday morning and got up especially early to do so when it opened at 7.30 a.m. Only it didn't open then. My husband then asked when it would open, was told 'in five minutes' but 15 minutes later he was still waiting so he gave up the attempt.

Great leisure facilities - small gym but despite this all the good multi gym facility were there. Offering a sauna, jacuzzi and the like for the pretty reasonable price, and a decent breakfast, were also plus points.
Mould had got into the lining of the bath - it's not too major a job to fix something like that so it was a bit sloppy for the hotel to be selling that room in the state it was.

The chap on the bar Saturday night had a bit of a attitude problem when ordering a drink after 12 at the bar.it was the manner in the way he asked if we were staying overnight before serving us.Bar man 2/10
