Value for money, lovely grouns, room spotless.

In desperate need of decoration!! Carpets wrinkled in hall - tripping hazard.

"Large hotel perhaps in need of a little TLC. Now a picture of faded elegance but with lovely views from some rooms. "

Location & views were excellent. Staff were pleasant & helpful. Dining room & lounge areas very elegant. Good value for the price paid.

Visual impact of re-furbishment work internal & external not particularly pleasant. Car parking insufficient for size of the hotel. Road exit is pretty dangerous onto a busy main road!

    "Pleasantly surprised"

Conveniently placed, good service and comfortable.

Some of the common areas are drab, the carpets are past their best, the lift floor covering was bubbled and the approach to the hotel suggests better times.

"a bit of work would make this hotel lovely. "

good staff, clean. Good for a quick visit on a budget.

hotel was old, carpets bumpy, reminded us of an old peoples home- smelt musty.

"ok needs a lot of upgrade done to the hotel."

Food was quite good and service too.

Bedrooms was to far away from central part of hotel. Lift not working and on third floor to far from lift. for disable person walking. Carpets very bad fitting and some one could have an accident when walking.

"wanted to chill some wine whilst dining in, requested an ice bucket to chill some wine at 740, told it would be 15 minutes, rang again at 810, told it would come straight up, arrived at 835, therefore missed dinner !! very annoyed, and then after returning from dinner elsewhere the ice bucket was so slim it didnt even chill the wine?! really frustrating..."

nice bed, balcony room, ample cooked breakfast

generally worn down but still ok, healthy breakfast options very limited, not enough prepared fruit low quality grapefruit/orange segments

"The hotel from the outside looked very nice, but it was a shame it was not up to the standerd i expected inside. I was very disappointed."

Lovely view over bay, quiet area, clean sheets and towels.

The carpet in reception needs relaying, the bath side panel was broken, decorating work needed re-doing throughout, the dinning room wasn't very clean.

"We enjoyed our stay and appreciated being able to bring the dog with us. There were some nice walks through the surrounding grounds. The room was comfortable and the food good, but to be fair the decor could do with uplifting, especially the ill fitting carpets in the reception and corridor areas."

"Very disappointed, certainly would not recommend this hotel. "

None. One ray of hope the receptionist at check out was very polite and chatty.

The main reception area sets the scene for the whole hotel, it was drab, the carpet was shabby and dangerous under foot and the whole decor was dated. The bedroom was dark, old and shabby and smelt of stale cigarette smoke. The breakfast consisted of lots of food that seemed to have been cooked at 6 o'clock in the morning and left on the hot plates to simmer, yuk. At the time of our visit there were 3 coach trips, this appears to be the hotels main business.

"Overall we had a pleasant two night stay."

Good veiws over golf course and bay. Clean, warm room. Pity there wasn't more tea/coffee/milk etc. But overall,we were pleased. I would like to see alot of money put into this hotel, it would be well worth it. But in these times???

Slightly dissapointed with standard of lager served at the bar, it was more than likely the remains of the barrel, and it was 'off'. It was changed with no fuss or bother but I feel that more experienced bar staff would have noticed before I tasted it.

"Lots of room for a toddler to walk around, although it doesn't have any facilities for children therefore not really ideal for a small child. Perfectly adequate for 1 night stay when visiting Grange, you get what you'd expect from a large old fashioned hotel."

Lovely views from the front of the hotel. Very spacious inside and outside. Good breakfast with attentive staff.

A bit shabby in places, small bedroom when accommodating the travel cot provided by the hotel.

"Because of my interest in photography the hotel was perfect for me. On my two night stay everything went perfect. The beds were comfortable and the room was warm. Breakfast was superb."

The location and the view without doubt.

    I did'nt dislike anything particular.

"We asked for the sink and shower to be unblocked as water wasn't draining. Sink kept bringing up bits of hair and rubbish and we had to keep turning shower off and on as tray filled up and threatened to overflow. Receptionist promised to have someone unblock them while we were out, but remained blocked throughout stay. We forgot to pack an item and rang hotel to see if they would post it on if we paid postage, but took 3 phone calls before anyone looked and then we were told they couldn't find it. Not convinced they bothered looking."

Breakfast and food in bar excellent

Beautiful location, quiet & peaceful grounds. All staff very pleasant and helpful. Lovely room which was kept very clean & tidy. All of hotel kept very clean. Breathtaking views across bay from dining room.

Was not informed of table no during check-in. Food was lovely but not very keen on evening meal being self-service. We paid for one nights evening meal which cost

"As previously stated I had highlighted in the booking process that I am disabled and would require either ground floor accommodation or near a lift and a parking space near front door. When I arrived it became apparent that my requests had been ignored - the lift was a long way from the foyer and my room was a further trek from the lift. I was asked why I needed a room near the lift - I stated I had mobility problems and am disabled blue card etc another member of staff ? black uniform ?housekeeper and was told that my double room was the closest to the lift, she was going off duty and came on the customer side of the reception as I was requesting a parking space I had left my car across the entrance as no disabled spaces marked she then asked why did I need a space next to the door just as a coach party of about 30 people spilled off their coach and into reception, I stated that I was disabled - I was told I did not look disabled sorry we don't have green skin or two heads! I reminded the receptionist of the Disability Discrimination Act - access to services etc; which totally washed over her head. I was referred to a man - handyman who moved his car for me to park next to the front door. I later spoke to the duty manager who tried his best to put things right however, his staff let him down constantly as the next day again no parking for me outside on my return and was told to chase after the gardener! Room not disabled friendly at all no hand rails in bathroom or alarms although a phone in bathroom. Clear breaches of disability discrimination legislation - a very so what, take it or leave it attitude by the majority of the staff - not worth the "

the room was scruffy although apparently a category A room, the room had a balcony overlooking morecambe bay this was the saving grace of the whole hotel.

I had highlighted in the booking process that I am disabled with mobility issues and requested a room close to the lift and entrance. The lift serving my room was about 150yds from the foyer and then the room was about another 50yds from the lift. The accommodation was supposedly recently refurbished, torn wallpaper, generally scruffy, stained carpet.

"The hotel is in a beautiful location - and has the potential to be very nice. My room was small, shabby and badly decorated. The ensuite was terrible, the wallpaper was peeling off in places and the plumbing had problems. I was also kept awake by a dog barking in the adjoining room. The staff were very friendly."

The staff were friendly and the hotel was in a beautiful setting.

The room was shabby - wallpaper peeling off in the bathroom and problems with the plumbing.
