"I stayed in the Stratdon Hotel for one night. The lift did not work during my stay but my room was located at the sixth floor. Thus, I need to use the stairs. It was better that I did not have big luggage. If not, I believed that I could not get to my room. In addition, the lifts were so small and old. I didn't think that it could carry more than three people."
Close to the city centre, the room is big, clean and comfortable.
There was no hot water in the bathroom, it was quite cold when I took a bath.

"Very good. Going to come back for another great night out. Especially when its practically in the town centre."
Very good. Atmosphere was great, room was great for price. Room was warm, comfy and had all the stuff we needed.
Directions could be better. Had to stop a lot for directions.

"OK"
Very helpful and pleasant staff
Room small overlooking main road and noisy. Had been used by smokers and smelt. Television not working - prompt response from staff. Hotel not busy so why couldn't things be checked more thoroughly?

"Just one night, Staff helpful, clean hotel, shame about the confusion of a wake up call."
Quick efficient service.
Asked if i could check out at 1pm rather than 11am the night of my stay and was told it would not be a problem, However the following morning was awoke by phone at 11:30am and hurried out of the room.

"I would book again, but not sure if I'd order food and I'd definately check the lift was working before booking!"
The staff were extremly polite and helpful and responded to queries very quickly.
The food delivered for room service was not of the best quality, leading to me dining out during my stay. The lift was also out of service which was not great when I had to get two suitcases down the stairs

"Nice little hotel, Does need to have a working lift in such an high building though. Good location and friendly staff. Would recommend this hotel for a short break or over night stay, too smaller rooms for any longer then that. All in all a good little hotel. "
Friendly Staff, clean and tidy. Close to city centre.
Lift did not work, Rooms were very warm. Alittle on the small side.

"Clean and comfortable, very handy for where we were going but the lifts being out of order was inconvenient. I'd stay again if I knew they'd be working unless they could put us on a lower floor."
Close to where we wanted to go and had single rooms we were a group of three
Both lifts out of order for the whole length of the stay only one night, but a pain nonetheless. Second time I've stayed here, one lift was out of order last time. Also; I had two rooms booked under the same name and they only had one put aside for us - fortunately it wasn't a busy night.

the facilities in the hotel were very good, I liked the hairdryer in the room and the iron and ironing board. Tea and coffe were topped up every day.

"OK - it was cheap and the standards were appropriate to the price."
The staff were friendly.
The room was very, very noisy as it was on a main street and the double glazing was not up to keeping the sound out. One o fthe lifts didn't work and the other was very tiny. The room was small.

"Poor to average."
Location.
The hotel needs a face lift. It is old fashioned, dark and stuffy. The windows are horrible. They do not close properly and they do not ope properly either. The room I stayed in was too small. The bathroom was awful. The tiles were coming off the wall and the ceiling was patchy and pieces were coming off in places. The TV did not even have all the standard five UK channels.

"suited our needs pretty well and no major drawbacks"
staff were excellent and helpful and friendly, hotel was good value and convenient
room was a bit cramped for a 5 day stay

"The hotel was lovely, staff were friendly and helpful. Had a brilliant stay. However, I was a little disappointed with the parking, it stated that it was free parking on site, however there was little available parking on site which meant we had to pay £14 a night at the local car park and then walk to the hotel."
The accomdation was clean and tidy, it was very comfortable and had everything in that we needed.
It was a little hot at times.

"We would have liked to have been informed about an event in the function suite which made it very noisy in our room until around 4am!"
Very comfortable; facilities in room were excellent.
Room smaller than expected.

"Excellent"
Clean and fully equipped.
More TV channels would be nice.

The room was clean and the service was excelent
I strongly object to the use of air-freshener products in the hallways.

Poor television reception. No light in shower.
stayed on October 17, 2007
Good sized rooms, well presented lobby and great night security
Lift was out of order and we were placed on top floor, not the staff's fault but would have been nice to have been informed before the visit as one of our group had an injured knee.

"I think the above says it all!"
The room was clean and the hotel was centrally located.
When we arrived at our room we found that, although we had booked a room with a double bed, the room had twin beds. Reception moved us to a double room but when then found that the room had only been stocked with towels and toiletries for one person. The room was cold with the central heating only lukewarm at best.

"The hotel was reasonable value for money"
The price. The staff were helpful and friendly
The room was small and noisy. The bed was lumpy.

"I would like to have known that you could book breakfast in advance when booking the room and also that the car park was about half a mile away. The hotel was clean and the staff very pleasant and helpful."
It is close to the city centre and convenient.
The car park was a distance away from the hotel and it was a bit noisy being next to the main road and with some guests arriving back in the hotel very late in the early hours of the morning .

"I would consider staying again, but not in the summer."
Pleasant enough room, and very central.
The room was noisy unless the windows were shut. It was very hot and stuffy in the room, even though it wasn't that hot a day. It would be unbearable in a heatwave!
stayed on June 21, 2007
"Convenient location for the city, but traffic noise continued through the night."
The hotel was peaceful.
The lack of parking and the bathroom could have been larger.

"The hotels location is very good and meant that as a pregnant occupant I didn't have to walk very far for restaurants, shops or the theatre. Also sleeping is important and cleaniness and I was pleasantly surprise to experience both. The breakfast was also lovely; all in all this was definitely value for money."
It is extremely close to the Nottingham Playhouse
The decor is quite old fashioned

"Spent most of my time out and about and very little actually in the hotel but everything was fine. No problems with the room or staff and most importantly, the hotel was perfectly located in the centre of town."
Location excellent
stayed on March 21, 2007
Convenient to our needs.
Very noisy, from outside traffic and air conditioning units even with both window and secondary glazing unit firmly closed.

"I liked the bar in the hotel, however would have liked a residents bar to be open late. The hotel itself was clean and tidy and i did not experience any unwanted noise or disruption. Apart from the room being overly hot i enjoyed my stay at this hotel."
It was close to the city centre. The rooms had plenty of facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was unbearably hot even with the window open. But hotel policy was heating was only changed seasonally.

Good value for money
Far too hot!! Need to sort out their heating levels.

"Much of my experience in this hotel was positive. However, the lifts were old and antiquated, with only one of the two working. The Room Rate did not include breakfast, and both were overpriced, although the Breakfast was nice. I was lucky in being able to park on site, but most have to park in a not-too-adjacent public facility, although the hotel do validate the daily ticket to the value of eight pounds."
The room was warm and comfortable.
The room was small and internet access was available only in the lobby area, whereas the expectation was that it would be in the room.
from Nottingham United Kingdom;UK, stayed on March 19, 2007
"This is a nice hotel, with decent rooms and friendly, helpful staff. When I stayed in mid-March 2007, the rooms were rather hot, and my room did not appear to have any Tea and Coffee Making facilities. Had I said something to the staff during my stay they probably would have dealt with the problem. If you need accessibility, beware of the main entrance - it has a large flight of steps with handrail up the middle, then 3 steps up to reception with no handrail and a plant in the way! There is a side entrance leading into the bar area though apparently that is better for accessibility. And yes, there are 2 lifts!"
The room was just the right size and the staff were very friendly and helpful, on both reception and in the bar/restaurant areas.
The room was rather hot, and opening the window didn't make much difference apart from letting in a lot of traffic noise.
from Birmingham United Kingdom;UK, stayed on March 6, 2007
"The staff in the bar and restaurant were pretty hopeless. We ordered snacks at around 7.30 and didn't get any food until 9.15... After half an hour the waitress came and told us they'd run out of certain meals. So we chose something else and then 20 minutes later they came and told us they didn't have the right food for the new order. Just very disorganised and inefficient. The room and stay was good value for money."
Clean and all in working order. Good location for Nottingham city centre. Check in was good and helpful staff.
The bar and restaurant was inefficient

"My only two criticisms are the lack of any internet facility, and Personally I found the food poor. I do not like packet potatoes and am used to a Mediterranean diet this is not allowed for in your hotel"
To me, good old fashioned comfort. A good room to relax in at the end of the day.

"pretty good overall. would recommend some kind of link with a rental dvd place and advertise the fact that the tv's in the rooms have dvd players so people can bring their own dvds."
well maintained room. Good tv. Good breakfast.
1 lift not working. No lift access to hotel- heavy bags up stairs.
