"we enjoyed the pool facility but felt in no way enthusiastic about returning to the room. it was reminiscent of a holiday inn. "
the room was very small for a double and slightly dated, also there was a fusty damp smell when we first entered the room.

The room was large and comfortable and the restaurant was good in all respects
Bathroom was too small. Bar staff from 10.30 pm onwards were poor and very slow to acknowledge they had quests wating even after being told to told to take a seat and we would be attended to. The waiting time was totally unnaceptable.

Nice clean hotel handy for the theatres in Nottingham. Breakfast was very good.
Rooms not ready on our arrival and the reception staff did not get any back-up from the cleaning staff despite being told that customers were waiting.

Staff were helpful and amenable. The decor of public areas was very good internally. Very nice bar & restaurant only had breakfast.
Room key didn't work initially but sorted very quickly. Exterior of hotel does not reflect the same quality as the interior. Parking and payment thereof not obvious. Central booking of hotel was a little difficult.

The Active Hotels site is brilliant and represents good value for money. We have never been let down by our choices. The hotel was fantastic, leisure facilities very good, decor of the room was very good and comfortable. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Hotel is located in the Centre near restaurants, theatre and pubs. no problems with noise
No towels in leisure facilities - had run out of complimentary toothpast- not really bad points. Am really looking for something to write !! Room was a bit small but adequate. Probably would have felt cheated if paid the full price

Room was clean and tidy
Bed was uncomfortable, noise levels in corridors in the early hours of the morning unacceptable. Check in process was terrible as they had no record of the reservation and demanded the booking reference number before they would do anything. Reception had never heard of "Priceline" and I had to organise a call from "Priceline" to the hotel to confirm the reservation.

"I would like to have known that there was only one lift serving 8 floors! This lead to long uncomfortable waits in corridors where the temperature was not controlled and was far too hot and stuffy, we ended up using the stairs because the lift simply took too long. Then when we finally came to the long awaited check out, our room key was invalidated because it was 11AM and we had to wait in a long queue just to get it re-validated with everyone that was checking out! Then the bill was wrong. Awful place, would never stay there again."
Temperature in the hotel was far too hot, air con broken in our room, lifts were ridiculous and waiting in corridors that were unbearably hot was not acceptable.

"My booking was for twelve rooms. I paid for all the rooms on arrival and paid for the parking tickets. However, when my guests went to check out some of them were charged for the rooms again and some were charged again for the parking. This was not acceptable and shows total inefficidency if not dishonesty. We were also not able to charge drinks to aour room which was most inconvenient. Especially for a party of this size."

"I think the Crown Plaza, Nottingham undersold itself in not emphasising how near it is the centre of Nottingham, stating just how near it is the local cinema showcase, cafes bars and general nightlife. I think it should make a feature of its proximity to the City Centre. I know the above information is already available, it was just really good to have walked out of the hotel and within 5 minutes be right in the middle of the City."

Although the online travel agent made a big mistake in my booking, the staff at the hotel handle it very nicely and amanded everything as I required. The staff were great, the room was very nice, and the gym and gym staff were perfect.

Check-in took much longer than experienced in other hotels. Car parking charge of £9 is extortionate for an overnight stay!
