good facilities, clean lobby, well priced bar, cleanliness around the building, when needed friendly staff down to the car park attendant. everything i needed to know was offered to me on arrival, i did not need to ask.

    "In general very enjoyable."

Very friendly, efficient check-in staff and bar staff. Great location for wedding venue Duke's 92 and convenient for city attractions.

Very warm room with little ventilation and awful outlook onto grey flat roof.

"Very nice over all. The hotel is located in a quiet area, has its own secure car park and is relatively easy to find. The staff are all really nice and welcoming, from reception, bar and through to breakfast. They make sure you enjoy your stay. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed with a large comfortable bed which I enjoyed after a long car drive. My only minor criticism is there are are parts of the paintwork that could do with freshening up as it has become worn with time; other than that, this hotel is exceptionally good value for money."

Spacious Room; Large Bed; Leisure Centre

I'm being picky, but some areas could be improved by freshening up the paintwork

Friendly staff, clean room, everything worked, excellent breakfask! On site parking.

Short staffed in the bar. Lifts out of order.

"Lovely staff, clean pleasant surroundings but let down by morning restaurant. "

I booked in with my 2 daughters for my daughters wedding.Check in was very good and staff friendly.

On both mornings the breakfasts were dissapointing. The bacon was all completely under cooked whilst the only choice of eggs were scrambled and one solid mass. Some of the containers were empty and people were having to wait for beans etc.I had many people from the wedding staying and felt let down by the breakfast on offer.

    "VERY COMFORTABLE STAY,WOULD RECOMEND."

VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF.CLEAN ROOMS.VERY REASONABLY PRICED ACCOM AND FOOD.CENTRALLY LOCATED.

IF STAYING LONGER THAN A FEW NIGHTS THE MENU IS LIMITED BUT THERE ARE OTHER FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS IN THE AREA. WHEN WE STAYED THE WEATHER WAS WARM,BEDROOM WAS WARM BUT IF YOU OPENED THE WINDOWS IT WAS NOISY,ON AIR CON.

    beautiful house and service.

but I found the room small, although nicely done out,it was awkward to move around the bed, probably better with a single bed. apart from that it was a lovely stay.

The hotel was very clean and is in a fantastic location close to all local facilities.

The staff at night seemed unwilling to help or provide a drink. Especially as the hotel was very busy from people from a concert. Although the staff in the day were lovely.

"was excellent location for us as we were visiting the opera house theatre and although the front desk suggested getting a bus to the main shopping area we found it close enough to walk in and out. excellent value for money. When i told my husband what we paid for the night he was expecting a 1* B&B and was as impressed as i was with the quality of everything"

    perfect

    nothing negative to say

    Location and facilities excellent

Slamming doors of other guests and could hear guests in neighbouring room.

Found it a bit noisey at night - people coming back to their rooms and banging doors

"It was ok, fine for a stop over. I would stay again if my usual hotel chain wasnt available however paying the rack rate for room was painful at £120 because I booked later when a city centre event was on. My friends room was £65 which I think is the going rate for this kind of hotel."

Clean room, comfy beds, cleaning staff are very friendly. Night time reception chap was great. Bar man was friendly. Good location for museum next door and canal on the doorstep.

Bit tired in public areas and bar/dining area wasnt that clean chair backs, tables but in fairness, only one staff member was on duty and it was busy. Check in was on a paper list, my name and room number being available for all to see, not great as a female traveller. Check in was a bit delayed as room not ready, busy because of a city event.

    "Absolutely fine."

Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was fine, perfectly adequate bathroom, not too much free stuff in wasteful containers, I like the policy of not changing towels unless required. Breakfast was very good.

Lighting in the bedroom made it difficult for one person to stay awake and read while another slept - an individual small lamp for each bed would be better. The lunches were nicely served but not great quality - not much cheese in the panini, soup had an unexpected taste.

"Very nice. Didnt stay long but wish I had so that I could've used pool and fitness center."

Good price and location. Friendly, helpful service.

Although the sheets were nice and clean, the bed duvets and middle blanket seemed a bit grody.

"This is the 3rd course I've been to at the hotel with M&K update but the first time I stayed. I enjoyed my stay, the room was exceptionally clean and there was a good choice on the TV incl. music The price was very reasonable and am hoping to stay again but this time for leisure, not work. I would also recommend you to friends. Had a great time."

I was placed in room 207 which I couldn't sleep in as the road noise was keeping me awake so called to reception at 12midnight to ask for a change of room. I cannot fault the friendly service and was given a lovely room 115 and the staff went 'out of their way' to help me. I also found the bar staff pleasant and receptionist also.

I was on a 2 day course at the hotel. The only one complaint was that, over the two days, the coffee provided for us was always only lukewarm and pretty awful taste too and when i informed someone to provide us with hot coffee he did not believe me and poured a cup out to see for himself. He then fetched another flask full of 'fresh' coffee which was, again, almost cold. Breakfast was okay but could have had more choice. I liked the way you could make your own toast though.

It was a nice clean hotel - the lady on reception was very helpful with directions and letting us keep our bags at reception whilst waiting to check in and even after we checked in. We missed breakfast unfortunately as we had a late night but other than that a pleasent stay.

Room was not ready at time is said which meant we had to go into town and come back after an hour or so - which made it difficult as we had an event to go to - however we were able to leave our bags at reception which was useful.

"We would definitely stay at this hotel again, and would recommend it to any one else"

Location was excellent, close enough to the station and town centre to be able to walk if we felt like it.

A bit noisy in the early hours - but generally very good

    "We will keep going back."

We almost always stay at the Castlefield Hotel when we visit Manchester and have never had a bad experience. The hotel has a great swimming pool where you can have a proper swim rather than just splashing about and a good gym. Hotel is well located - close to city centre but not noisy. Good but not luxurious rooms and breakfasts.

You have to pay £8 per night for use of car park - however car park is secure and warden on duty. However no real bad points.

Clean and tidy. Room was functional - no frills.

Room was strange shape. Bed too near door perhaps. However, not a real problem!!!!
