"A lovely stay! A kindly and conscientious landlady."
A wonderful experience of good accomodation, food and hospitality.
Needed a downstairs room for my mother, but the stairs are nicely manageable.so worked ok for her too. Her shower could have done with some grab rails.

The building is nice and the room was clean. The staff were really friendly.
No one available to check us in when we arrived. We found the room a little crambed. My wife asked for poached eggs on toast for her breakfast and the eggs were under cooked. I returned them to the kitchen and they came back solid after either being in a microwave or in the oven still on the same piece of by now soggy toast. A further visit to the kitchen was required to get some toast. Overall not a good breakfast experience. Expesive for what it is.

Excellent breakfast, pleasant room and location, key to outside door to allow late access.

"It made our three day visit to Yorkshire most enjoyable and I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others."
The hotel was excellent in every respect. A telephone call from the hotel owner to confirm the booking was a very nice touch. We were made to feel very welcome and were very well looked after. Rooms were spotlessly clean and well appointed. Spacious and restful lounge and lovely garden.

Friendly, helpful and welcoming owner. Beautiful house. Lovely room with pleasant view over the garden. good breakfast
Was n't expecting surrounding area to be dominated by huge power stations. Prefer to have a bath , was a 'shower only' ensuite. Think this should be made clear in hotel details.

"Relaxing, quiet and comfortable. "
Comfortable and thoughtfully provided facilities. Service that "went the extra mile". Hotel has the feel of a welcoming home with none of the anonomity that tends to characterise chain hotels.

"Excellent location, beautiful building and surroundings. Lovely furnishings. If you like birds, the dawn chorus was beyond compare!"
The manager and server were very friendly. Canadians will do well there as the manager has a soft spot for us she has a sister in New Brunswick so we got the best room.
Bed was a little soft.

The location of the hotel was almost 10 miles from Selby, and at least a 40 minute drive to York. When I booked this accomodation the information led me to believe I was on the close outskirts of York.
