"Excellent, relaxing weekend. The hotel is in an excellent position and we would choose to visit again."
Absolutely excellent reception into the hotel. I think the receptionist was called Nayla and was superb in all respects - my husband particularly like the Happy Birthday message. We would like to commend her for her excellent manner and wish we could have such excellent service everywhere we stay. Thankyou Nayla.
No bad points although there were only toiletries in the bathroom for one person but I could have asked for more had I needed them.

near the station, in the center, nice building, staff was nice and friendly.
I personally don´t like carpets. The shower was difficult to regulate. The TV didn´t work. It was a bit shabby for the price

"I would say that this is a typical British hotel - slightly dingy, in a poor state of repair, and staffed by people who don't really understand a service culture and who have not been trained in good customer service. It definitely does not merit four stars. Personally, although the room was not in a great state of repair, the experience could have been transformed if the staff were better. This is not an awful hotel, but if a foriegner stayed there on arriving in UK I think they would be pretty shocked at the very poor value it offers."
Location.
State of repair of hotel, off-hand staff, price.

"As stated, the location was good but if you are looking for any kind of customer service then think again!"
Good location and clean.
This hotel does not have a gym as stated in online descriptions, this apparently closed several months before my stay for health and safety reasons. I had to wait for the check in staff to finish their personal conversation for 5 minutes before they got around to helping their only waiting customer. I had called the reservation line to book a few hours before arriving and received a confirmation email but the hotel had no record of my reservation at all! Luckily they had a room free!!

"Wonderful experience for a price significantly below usual rack rate"
Excellent location. Helpful reception staff permitted early check-in to room. Fish & chip evening meal presented in such an unusual way that it was memorable. Even bread presented with flair.Excellent service. Good breakfast but a little overpriced. Very comfortable bed
Obtaining required temperature for shower as there was a strange tap mixing system.Limited range of TV channels

"directions to the hotel in greater detail would have been helpful on the booking form.Breakfast in bed was lovely if not a little overpriced."
good location very near shopping area and car park.
poor views from room staff on reception scarey and difficult to understand. rest of staff seen were friendly and helpful but its that intial contact that sets the tone.

"A welcoming reception, the staff were very helpful. I was able to leave my luggage on checkout and collect it later in the day.My room was very clean and comfortable. Proximity to the station was a bonus."
It would have been good to have better choice of coffee and tea. Only one ordinary teabag, one non decaf coffee and two little pots of milk were provided two are usually required for one drink which meant I had to ask for more each day.

"it was a very nice hotel with good value and a good location but being told that the room would be ready at 2 and we were still waiting at 4.30 was unsatisfactory we needed to be some where by 4.30 so they let us use the gym to get ready which was ok but not very comfortable"

"Very satisfactory"
Smart, efficient staff. Very helpful, especially when I found I had left something behind in my room after chacking out. Excellent restaurant, even when I went for a meal just as they were supposed to be ending service. Lecture theatre comfortable, well ventilated I didn't feel like going to sleep!
It would have been good to have more room to rest one's plate at the lunchtime buffet but I recognise that would have been difficult to arrange.

"if you want to be in the centre of Birmingham the lcoation is great. My room was massive and included all mod cons TV, tea/coffe making facilities, telephone and internet point. After my first night's stay staff even asked if their cleaning was good enough and if everything was OK. Adequate storage for clothes and case, clean and modern bathroom. Really liked the hotel especially it's central location and friendly staff. Didn't use the bar/restaurant or room service as I ate out. Directions to the hotel from the website were also spot on and easy to follow. However girls, would suggest you bring your own hairdryer as the one supplied kept burning out...! Overall very highly recommended!"
Vrey clean room and hotel, staff very friendly and welcoming - location for shops etc fantastic!! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.
Nothing about the accommodation but I really wanted to join the loyalty card scheme and there wasn't any forms available for the length of my stay. Very disappointed as I missed out on a substantial amount of points..

I found the ambience of the hotel very relaxing, the staff in all departments encounted, to be friendly and helpful. I thought the room was good value for money. The fact that the hotel is beside the station and other amenities was very beneficial.

"Generally, the hotel was very clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. I chose this hotel because it had a gym. However, the equipment was very out-of-date and extremely old - not what I would have calledd a gym! Also, my shower was either freezing cold or scalding hot - nothing in between!"

"We had 4 star accommodation, food and service, and were overall very happy with our brief stay - it is a lovely hotel. I would have liked better directions and instructions from the hotel web site with the nominated nearby car park, it took us 30 minutes to find our car on Sunday morning."
We booked an executive room, first class accommodation, well worth the extra spend. Breakfast and evening dinner were first class.
Our room backed onto the roof with the air conditioning units, which meant the room was a little noisy, do commission based room bookings get the less attractive rooms?

"When entering the hotel we felt we had a fantastic deal. The staff were pleasant and we checked in with ease. The room was comfortable and clean although a bit out datedand was good for the night. Only down point was the newspaper we ordered did not arrive and would not have been complementary. The charge was taken off the bill."
The Hotel was situated in a great location in New Street.
We couldnt fault the cleanliness or the main areas. Just felt that if we had not had a good deal we would have felt let down by the room.
