"We liked the fact that the hotel was in the middle of the city centre. "

We liked the size of the room and bathroom and the bed was comfortable.

Staff forgot to clean behind the bathroom door. The heating was inconsistent although staff did their best to sort this out. No towel rails in the bathroom or anywhere to hang a towel.

"Served its purpose for an overnight stay but would not book again"

Good location adjacent to New Street Station. Sheets were clean and bed comfortable. Room was quiet and staff helpful

General cleanliness was poor, decor was dated and there was litter in the corridors.Broken fixtures in the public areas added to the air of dilapidation and in some parts of the hotel there was a strange smell

Excellent location for our Xmas shopping and German Markets weekend. Staff were very helpful.

City Centre location is great for shopping, but not so good for overnight noise.

"I suppose what I have come to expect these days. It really wouldn't take much to improve it - a little cleaning, a few repairs."

Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Breakfast was OK, though toast was limp and croissants were not very fresh. Bed was OK.

Carpets in corridors and room were dirty, toilet bowl was cracked, woodwork by shower was rotting. Room smelled rather. Rubber mats in lifts torn and dirty.

"went for xmas market and the situation of the hotel was a bonus. but disappointed with size of room, too hot in room, and things not working. I would stay again but not for any length of time"

pleasant staff, buffet breakfast lovely - compilments to the chef - very helpful.

room small, no handles on the dresser to put your things away, very hot room, beds too soft. room service charged £5.10p for half a lager - no details on tariff to say not a pint and when ordered by phone only bought half a pint not a pint as requested.

"the noise and uncomfortable bed made the stay a bad experience"

good value for money experienced in the past

Loud noise in the street heard because windows are not thick enough or not double glazed; the large bed was made of two beds put together and the hard part in the middle made it extremely uncomfortable; a rattling noise in the radiator lasted all night and no staff answered the phone when we rang the reception to mention the problem; we could not sleep a wink!

"loved location hated hotel due to cleanliness."

Good location right in the heart of the shopping area.

Carpets in hallways grubby, general cleanliness of room poor especially bathroom I.E urine left on wc seat, hair left in bath and plug hole clogged with hair.

"a pleasant stay, good value for money if breakfast is not included ie. not wanted"

stylish entrance hall, room nicely decorated and good bathroom

the bed was uncomfortable and double glazing is a must as windows are shabby and cannot reduce the noise of the street that much; the remote control was not working properly and there was not enough milk provided

"As I arrived in Birmingham by train location of hotel was important to me. "

Great location next to New Street Station, Bull Ring and shops.

Hotel is somewhat dated. Fixtures and fittings could do with updating. Lift very slow, but all in all I had a good experience and would stay here again.

"awfull!! it was the worst hotel i have ever stopped in. The purpose of stoppin there was to get a good night sleep after a great night out. A fire alarm going off threw the night then having to stand in the middle of the street for an hour sure put a stop to that."

did not get any sleep as a fire alarm went off a approx 2.00am. had to be evacuted from the building. did not get back into bed until 3.15am. had no sleep

Was told at breakfast that my booking was room only so had to find the confirmation to prove we had booked b&b. The happy hour is a rip off, was supposed to be until 7pm, we ordered drinks at 6.50pm only to be charged full price. when we questioned this we were told they had to go by the time on the til even though it was 15 mins quick!

"Given that I booked with high discount the value for money was Okay. But I would have been upset had I paid the full price."

Central location. Convenient access to Birmingham train station.

The elevators need fixing: doors not closing, elevator stops every floor even no request. Quality of breakfast buffet very mixed. The scrambled eggs were tasteless, almost not eatable.

    City centre location

Room tired in need of a refurb. TV - poor picture. Bed lumpy, Fan outside window very loud. Asked for room service on night - told they could only order in from local takeway which took an hour - room service menu informs sandwiches available 24hrs!
