"I was very happy staying at this hotel."

Superb location and views. Received a free room upgrade. Building has bags of character, if you like that sort of thing.

    Noise from new ongoing tramworks.

"Would stay again and recommend to others."

Nice clean refurbished accommodation overlooking Princes Street at a reasonable price.

Use of background chemical based air fresheners in the lounge and restaurant areas was unfortunate and probably unnecessary.

"The hotel was ideal for the purpose of the visit. We did not eat in the hotel as we felt breakfast in particular was expensive. "

Location was ideal for sightseeing in Edinburgh

Room was very small. Work had begun on a new tram system at front of hotel. No warning was given at the time of booking or prior to arrival that this work was in progress and how it may affect our stay, ie noise

    Good location.

The water from the shower head is too small and on the last day of our stay, there was only hot water, very hot water coming out from the tap and shower head, which made bathing impossible.

    Good location friendley staff

No double glazing, alot of noise at night

"Overall a great location in the center city with nice, clean rooms, and excellent breakfast service. "

Rooms were well appointed and very clean. Excellent breakfast and bar service as well.

Rooms were not ready at desired checkin, and then when we checked in, rooms were no longer available together. One was on the 1st floor and the other on the 6th - - eventhough the booking was made at the same time. If self driving, parking is tricky as well.

"The service and facilities in The Old Waverley are of a high standard and the central location cannot be bettered. The only downside was the traffic noise as my room was on the the first floor right on Princes' Street with only single glazing."

Central. Clean. Good service. Good breakfast.

"Good hotel for 'hogmanay' celebrations although traffic restictions meant it was very difficult to find and access, we had a long walk with luggage! Facilities excellent except for missing secondary glazing window-panes which meant that our superior room was colder and noisier than it should have been."

Excellent breakfast, available to 1pm on new years day, a great service after 'hogmanay' celebrations! Good size superior room with view of Princes St and castle.

Not advised in advance about 'hogmanay' access restrictions and armbands required to enter Princes St and hotel on New Years Eve. Reception is on first floor, no lift/elevator available.

"Stay was enjoyable and suited our visit to the city."

Friendly staff, well appointed rooms, good dining facilities. An enjoyable stay.

Hotel entrance is a bit of a let down and not highly visible at street level. Nice Christmas feel to the hotel although the smell of festive potpourri was a bit over powering

"overall, very pleased with the hotel."

excellent location, well-appointed rooms, clean, very nice bathrooms, good breakfast and restaurant host was excellent

no location to pull up outside of the hotel to drop off luggage; confusing location / directions to parking structure and staff did not really know how to give directions to the parking structure. may want to re-tool directions to indicate "Omni parking" as you don't see the "Greenplace" sign until you're pulling into the garage the parking sign on Leith Street says "Omni".

"Good position. No major problems and would def stay again. "

Good sized room. Pleasant, helpful & polite staff. Restaurant staff particularly good

Room needed more dusting e.g. mirror was covered in dust. Additional pillow and blanket were not available in the room - had to be ordered. Coffee/tea tray - sufficient sachets not provided - had to be ordered.

"Overall a bit over-priced for what it was, but it was central Edinburgh, very well located, and perfectly adequate for my purpose."

location ideal for my business plenty of tea/coffee in room surprisingly quiet once I'd silenced air-con nice bathroom helpful staff

not aware when booking that there were stairs up to reception could have mattered if I'd had heavier luggage no iron and ironing board in room room would have been very small for two people - just about OK for one no proper window/daylight in room only breakfast option very expensive at £12 - but plenty of cafes in vicinity
