Food and Service from staff excellent

Would not use this hotel on a Friday or Saturday night especially during the summer wedding season as the noise from the Disco/entertainment was so loud that we could not get to sleep until after 1am. The receptionist informed us that this was common during the wedding season.

"Nice stay and good value for money. "

    Nice garden, bar etc

Bedroom windows wouldn't open on hottest night of year so far!

    "Very poor, never again"

    Clean room

Very uncomfortable bed 2 singles pushed togther with a thin protector over the top for £78 i expect a proper double bed. The equipment in the room was very dated, old tv kept turning itself off, No freeview/sky, old kettle, hair dryer useless etc. Breakfast in the room was ordered from the list clearly but when delivered it was completely wrong! Needs a huge upgrade for the rates charged when you have a premier inn 500 yards down the room at much better value & comfort!

"I really liked the hotel. It had a lovely atmosphere and the staff were so nice and helpful. It was a real pleasure to stay there."

The staff were fantastic. Couldn't be nicer and more helpful. Breakfast was great.

The coffee cups in the room were dirty and the bottle of water had already been opened. The sheets and linen although clean, had small rips in them and old stains. But the staff dealt with any problems superbly.

From the moment I called the hotel and spoke to Carmen to confirm the internet booking until the moment we left the hotel, we were treated efficiently but with great friendliness.

"Without the noise problems mentioned above this would have been an entirely pleasant stay in a hotel with a good atmosphere and helpful, friendly staff. "

Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Very comfortable bed. Lovely garden Pleasant dining room

It was noisier than I would have liked. I was woken at five by couple getting ready - and the noise of showering and general plumbing was intrusive. - I understand you can't do anything about guests talking in loud voices, but the walls must be pretty thin. The ducting system in the bathroom is extremely and continuously noisy. Had I being staying longer or wanting to spend the evening in my room, I would have like a bigger television.

"A Pleasant time I enjoyed my 4 night stay."

Convenient Location, good reception area, staff helpful.

Room seemd a bit noisy at times from plumbing and people letting doors bang in the coridoor. The restaurtant wasn't very inviting so went to another hotel for main meals. The internet charges are excessive. £4 for 20mins on the hotel computer and BT openzone is also very pricey. Most Hotels I have stayed at have a free wi-fi connection.

"they dealt with the situation well and the room was of a good standard. Staff were welcoming and friendly."

The room contained every thing needed for a relaxing stay there, water, tea coffee, hot choc, complimentary biscuits. They gave us a half price breakfast also as a room only customer.

They did not have a record of the booking

"Not value for money but adequate for a short stay"

    Nice Bed

Room was cramped, not enough power outlets, remote control for TV was missing but staff replaced it promptly. I was surprised at the standard room rate being so high, becasue the facilities were equivelent to a budget hotel

"Booking was made over the web and reflected a good saving on the displayed price in the reception. The room was well positioned with a good view of the floodlit trees and large garden."

Staff were attentive and helpful. Room was well laid out for a short stay.Bed was comfortable and pillows were supportive. Lighting was a little subdued for reading small print as with newspapers. Soaps and other bathroom containers were of good quality.

Bathroom had cracked floor tiles with grout in cracks unclean. Obvious areas of room were cleaned but dust was evident on some doors and carpets in corners. Soap was small for two persons to use.

    "Very Good"

For an airport hotel the rooms were quiet at night a very pleasent surprise. The served breakfast was far superior to the self service cooked breakfast

Reception staff are not made aware of on line deals or future special offers.

"Overall an excellent hotel, we intend to stay in other Menzies hotels."

All public areas recently refurbished so are very good, really nice terraces for a leisurely drink etc in good weather, overlooking pleasant gardens. Excellent restaurant, food and service is of an exceptionally high standard far better than is normally found in this type of hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable.

Rooms we were staying in are looking a bit shabby and tired but they are refurbishing them so this problem should be resolved soon.

    Proximity to Airport

Mattress too soft, draft through windows.

"Arrived 10pm, given a small, smoking room I'm a no smoker with no real window to speak of. The smell of stale smoke in the room was disgusting. Room was noisy generator next door?. No hot food in the bar. None of this very welcome at the end of a long busy working day. Taxi £20 from the airport."

Given a smoking room, small room, no real window, no hot food after 10pm arrived at 10.10

    Overall good value for money.

I stayed on a saturday night, for which there was a funtion on on the ground floor. Althought the hotel situated us on the top floor the music still kept my partner and I up till Midnight.

"The above problem seemed to have occured at this hotel before, but the staff didn't seem too interested in resovling it satisfactorily. At check-out I was then charged nearly double the original booking price, by the same person that checked me in two days earlier. She didn't seem to recognise this until I queried it."

My booking was not in the hotel reservation system, even though it was booked online, and I had a confirmation number. There were no twin-bedded rooms available at check-in.
