"Considering that everywhere in Bath is rather high-priced, this place is excellent value for the money. This is the third place in Bath where we have stayed this year, and the only one that we would go back to."

Staff very friendly Close to centre of town but in a quiet area. Breakfast excellent
Certain areas of the hotel very shabby

"The charm of the experience when you're on the main floor at the restaurant or dealing with the desk is somewhat offset by the experience in the room. "
Staff was excellent, hotel had a lot of charm.
Overpriced for what you receive. The room was clean, but it is old and has not aged well. The windows do not work properly and we had to prop them open with empty water bottles. The carpet was in need of replacement in the room and the toilet was loud and took much too long to reset.

"Had a nice time, but the Hotel looks and feels a bit run down and in need of improving - which is sad as it could be so nice."
Lovely old sytle Hotel in good position - we have stayed there occassionally over the years even spent the fist night of our honeymoon there many years ago.
Cleanliness was poor - dead flies on the mirror in our room remained there thoughout our stay. The first room we were given which was a double was ghastley, but we were given a move without difficulty to a twin.

"Bit grim, really..."
Attentive staff. Good city centre location.
Room redecorated badly but otherwise not updated since late 1960s/early 1970s. Shower didn't work properly. Stingy with teabags/milk. Moultings from bright red feather boa stayed on the floor for more than 24 hours. Bar area was unwelcoming and dreary.

"Good"
Very convenient for City Centre Historically interesting Hotel
Our room was certainly very dated and in need of refurbishment. No car parking at hotel - but conveniently just yards away is a Car Park but can be expensive - as in any big City.

"It was a very friendly Hotel, but the central heating needed to be turned down a couple of notches as everyone was so hot, especially through the night. Fortunately, I was able to open the window, but my friend who is asthmatic, felt quite unwell and stifled."

Great And helpful staff
During breakfast constant but apologetic opening of door in restuarant letting cold air in by Carpet Fitters, Breakfast over cooked or stale, Toast ,Black pudding and fried bread inedible cold ,over cooked, generally disappointing. The sausages tasty but cold.

"As this was just a fleeting visit the convenience of the location outweighed the run down state of the hotel"
Conveniently located, pleaseant staff, good breakfast, beds a bit small but comfortable
damp patches on ceiling and wall in our room, wallpaper is pealing of. Hotel looks run down furniture is worn and torn, window sashes are all broken, window rattled in our room all night....

"Large hotel with excellent breakfast and first rate location in the centre of Bath. Public areas were in need of refurbishment, especially the corridors. Room furniture was old but clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom shower curtain was difficult to manage and the shower head was low for a tall person. My husband is 6ft 1! However, clean and well suppied. Needed extra shelf space in bathroom to store toiletries for overnight traveller. Lovely towels and plenty of them. Glasses to drink out of would have been useful. Hairdryer weak! Overall, though, good. TIP: when feeding meter of opposite car park, remember the hours between 7pm and 8am are free. Thus if you pay for 6 hours starting at 4pm that lasts until 11am the following day! Not bad then, about 7 pound."
Location was excellent; breakfast very good. Room was clean with a very comfortable bed.
Hotel suffered a little from shabby gentility in the public areas but very clean in rooms.

"Very brief stay but comfortable and pleasant"
Warm welcome. Nicely decorated, spacious room and massive bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Free newspaper
Almost cold shower at 6am was a bit disappointing! Was charged £5 more than price quoted on booking and have no idea why. Was in a ruch at check-in and didn't notice

Location, breakfast upgrade to a suite
Room not ready on arrival at 3.15pm - no complimentary drink or tea or coffe offered. We had just driven for 7 hours and wanted to relax. We were left with the choice of leaving our bag and coming back later. We sat in the bar fo approx 1 hour and got no update during this time
stayed on February 21, 2008
"Though some parts of the Hotel is need of updating, I think the helpfulness of the staff and the facilities on offer e.g. the generous breakfast etc. more than make up for any shortfall. I think the Hotel is very good value comparing with some other accommodations we have stayed at before in the area."
The two young men at the Reception that day were absoloutely wonderful, kind and could not have been more helpful - thank you.
Nothing major.

"Firstly, I wish to say that, reception, room etc were perfectly adequate but for £60 BB per night should be. A column headed up to the standard expected would be useful We were a little dissappointed at breakfast - non availablity of a banana and dried fruit rather shrugged off and a cooked breakfast which arrived before the cereal had been eaten was initially placed on the side of the table. A request to take it back to the kitchen to keep hot was readily complied with - but early impressions do count. 360"
Recently refurbished and in good condition

"Very near the train station, no need for a taxi with wheeled luggage. Very central - about 5 mins walk to Bath Abbey,Roman Baths and shopping area. We were very impressed by the spacious comfortable lounges, perhaps a little shabby for some tastes - traditional decor. Best service we have received anywhere. Luggage minded after we had checked out,so we could enjoy more time in Bath until our train left. We are regular visitors to Bath and will stay here again."
Spacious room and a proper bath. No plumbing noises from other rooms

The quaint old style of the building, walking distance to town centre
squeaky floors so you can hear people walking above you sometimes
stayed on November 18, 2007
Location in relation to town centre, public transportation.
Though hotel was clean interior has seen better days. Updating interior could easily make this 3 star hotel a 4-5 star hotel.

"Great location, quiet. Sloping floor and bed, so we didn't sleep well. Hot water was scalding and couldn't even out temperature in shower. Overall, a nice hotel though and enjoyed the stay despite the two big negatives."
Modern fixtures nice bathroom, good breakfast, Excellent location and quiet.
Since it is in a very old bldg, the floor sloped quite a bit, making the bed slope as well. Husband didn't sleep well. The hot water was scalding and of our three couples none of us was able to find a good balance of cold/hot water for a shower.

I thought the decor of the hotel room was very much in the keeping for the period of the hotel. For a single room I was pleasently surprised at the size of it. Staff were very helpful.
from London UK, stayed on April 12, 2007
"Pratt's Hotel feels roomy and friendly. It felt a more expensive hotel than it was. We really enjoyed staying there and the location is absolutely brilliant. It is about 1 minute from Poultney Bridge and 5 mins from all of the town centre. The only downside of this is that there is no car park - so if you stay several days - beware! The scroungers of Bath council will sting you for loads of money in the car park directly opposite if I remember rightly about "
Comfortable bed.

"the experience was unatisfactory based on the price plus the negatives all in all."
the rooms were excellent.
the hot water in the shower was boiling and it almost scalded me. the fact that my room was conveniently located 50 feet from a noisy all night discoteque made sleeping a real problem.
