"Disappointing - this was our wedding anniversary weekend & I was expecting a better quality hotel - which is why I booked an Executive suite in a 5 star hotel. Saying that, all of the staff were extremely helpful & apologetic about the mistakes & slow service."
Staff were friendly, room was large
Extremely slow service. We had to return meals for being cool, boiled eggs for being raw. Our room was not very clean - used tissues left by the previous occupants were left on the chair & there were hair 'balls' on the bathroom floor.

"The hotel itself was amazing. The staff was also the same. Me and my friend were wanting a few days of relaxation and tranquility, and we left with just that! It is a bit more expensive then other places, but you will get what you pay for in service, accomidations, and facilities. It ws well worth every penny!"
great service, clean tidey rooms, beautiful spa, wonderfull outdoor pool area, close enough to walk into the center of town, and beautiful landscape.
The outdoor pool was a bit limited on chairs and space.

Beautiful hotel in wonderful grounds and within easy walking distance of the city centre. On arrival staff were helpful and service great.
On phoning the day before our stay, we were told by the reception staff that there was no booking for us at the hotel despite us having booked it a month in advance. Eventually following a phone call to active hotels it was sorted out but it was a nervous time inbetween!

Our accommodation was comfortable although the room was very warm. Which we did inform the concierge of but unfortunately it was towel rail in the bathroom that was heating the whole room - thus leading to melted make up and hair products!
The heat in the bedroom a little uncomfortable.

"We had a wonderful stay. We did not spend much time at the Hotel but our room was lovely and the staff were all very accommadating and made you feel most welcome. The Hotel is well situated with beautiful grounds, for nice walks."

"Clean and comfortable. Well placed for all the attractions of Bath city centre. Plenty of car parking, which is a rarity in Bath."
Location.
Over priced breakfast.

Nice looking hotel, beautiful gardens
1Room smelled like smoke, even though it was a non-smoking room. 2Floor got soaked after every shower due to single swinging glass pane over half the tub; curtain is better suited for that application. 3No availability for ANY spa services for the entire two days we were there. 4 We were not notified of an additional charge for simply using a credit card for payment for our accommodations until presented with the bill. A charity donation was also placed on our bill without our consent. Seems funny to put a charge for charity donation, then charge a fee for using an American Express card.

Excellent setting and service. Good location close to City centre, but having the benefit of a quiet tranquil setting.
Room not quite as luxurious as anticipated for the price, and view was of the Spa buildings to the rear. Spa smaller than expected. Would have been nice to get breakfast included in the room price

"This was our first stay at the Hotel and all that had to be known before our stay was related to us from the information contained in the Hotel's web site. Everything was excellent. The staff were always available and most helpful and nothing was too much trouble."
The accommodation was excellent and could not be faulted. The staff made both my wife and myself very welcome on the occasion of our 42nd wedding anniversary. The restaurant food and service was indeed excellent.

"Stay in many hotels during the year but this was the best service with the best faciliteis I have enjoyed in a long, long time. A fantastic, memorable stay."
Superb, courteous staff, excellent food, comfortable room, excellent facilities all in good, clean working order, lovely grounds
Iron inthe room didn't seem to work properly, had to hold down the button to make the hairdryer work didn't bother me but the lady was not happy would have preferred large bottles of water in the room rather than small ones - need to rehydrate after all that spa bathing!

"I was very pleased with my stay and would definately come back again and recommend the hotel to friends."
Luckily our room was ready early when we checked in. I found all staff very friendly and helpful. The gardens were beautiful and well kept and the room was clean and spacious. Good location as just a short walk from town.
Although the facilities at the hotel were excellent especially the outdoor spa pool, the sauna and steam rooms were not working on the day.

"The leisure facilities at the hotel were excellent - we were especially taken with the outside hot spa pool! Bath is a beautiful city and we will return for more site seeing. We will definitely choose this hotel for future visits."
Friendly, helpful, very attractive hotel

"It is a beautiful hotel set in beautiful surroundings and be it Spring, Summer or Winter it has everything one could desire. The breakfast is exceptionally good, and service for all meals is perfect, you get what you ask for and then are left alone. When staying in Bath I would always stay here."
Everything

"In terms of value for money this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It is grossly overpriced and I would be very cautious about using any of your hotels again. At half the price we were charged it would b e reasonable value for money."
The room was not well maintained, the wardrbe doors did not shut properly and the wash basin had a large crack in it

"Beautiful hotel with splendid views both of the hotel grounds and the city. Excellent staff and overall very relaxing stay."
The hotel, building and gardens were beautiful - we had a room at the front of the hotel and had such a wonderful view which was so relaxing and especially delightful in the mornings. The staff were proff. and very attentive. I also thoroughly enjoyed the the pool and thermal spa. Overall a very relaxing stay.
One issue not a complaint regarding a member of staff that was standing at the reception when we returned by carriage on thurs 31st. I may be mistaken but I got the impression that he disapproved of the use of the carriage. As we discovered on our journey up the hill it was difficult for the horse so I was a little sensitive. However, I was annoyed at sensing the staff members disapproval as it was a treat for my mother on our last night in Bath.

"We returned from shoping at 5pm to find our room door open. Our check in documents and our internet booking documents containing my address details and my signature that we had left on the table were missing. My complaint about this revealed a hotel houskeeping mistake, and was told our documents had been shredded. By way of an appology for this we were offered a drink whoopee. We were never told however, why our door had been left open. That I think is a bit concerning."
Staff were pleasant and eager to please. The ground floor of the hotel is very elegant and the grounds are beautiful. We were able to check in at 09:30 as we arrived early which was a great plus.
We stayed in room 520 on the third floor. I found that corridor decor to be tired, in need of painting and renovation. It has very large wood chips missing on service doors that trolley's had obviously banged through, dirty skirting boards and wall marks. The lift was old and creeky. Our room was ok but just ok, and not what I would call 5 star by a long way, and I have stayed in many. The sash windows rattled all night due to it being very windy.
