"Lovely."
The staff were, without exception, efficient and very pleasant. There was a function in the restaurant over 60 people but this did not detract from the service provided to the other guests using the restaurant. The lay out of the restaurant enabled the function to be independant whilst using the same staff.
A liitle noisy from the road outside but baring in mind we were in the oldest part of the building which only had secondary double glazing.

"Disappointing and expensive"
There was a party on until midnight in the room directly below us. It was extremely noisy. Our room was also very small and we felt it was very poor value for money. Also filled in a questionaire at the hotel and have had no response

"Wouldn't hesitate to stay again...but eat elsewhere"
Good position and excellent room
Restaurant overpriced for quality and choice of food
from Billingham UK, stayed on December 15, 2008
"The quality of the room, other than the door/window was OK. The quality of breakfast ruined the stay."
Clean and well presented. Local to all shops, restaurants etc.
Our room had a very old, wooden, window/door which was badly maintained, did not fit properly and rattled all night! It is possible that modern double glazing cannot be fitted for planning reasons, but the maintenance on what is there could be much better. Breakfast was an absolute shambles. 15 minute wait, then only some of the choices available; long queues, staff did not know what was happening, it was almost as if the combination of breakfast and guests had taken everybody by surprise.

"The stay was pleasant and nothing was a major problem for us just the little attentions to detail as mentioned before.Ok for I /2 nights. Was quite difficult to get to due to complicated road systems/ring roads."
Staff helpful about parking situation and arriving early etc.
Very rattly sash windows with even the slightest bit if wind. which was irritating during night. Thick dust on top of an un necessarily large Tv unit and wardrobe. Some bulbs out and iron burn on carpet. For one night you can put up with it, however.Still found it rather expensive for the standard of hotel.

"Pleasent stay would have liked to stay longer. A pity there was limited car parking spaces. But if we ever come back to York that's where we will stay. The rooms were a good size & comfortable. There was plenty of choice for breakfast which was very good. Also very handy for York centre no need to rely on Taxis"
The room was a good size with everything we needed including broadband. Th Hotel was clean & fresh. Handy for York centre.

"Stag party ruined stay right above our room which was right next to the lift.Very loud creaking floorboards. Apparently due to age of the building, yet we seemed to be staying in a newer part of the Hotel"

"Everything was great. Maybe you can have more alternatives in the breakfast menu. I don't know whether Best Western Corona Hotel in London is your branch or not but your hotel is definitely better. I think you should have the fourth star not them."

"We have not stayed in this hotel before and were very pleasantly surprised by the friendly welcome and general politeness of the staff, the high level of comfort and the relaxed atmosphere. The bedroom was very spacious and well furnished and the bed was very comfortable. The car parking is a bonus, given that the hotel is in the centre of town. Having booked via the internet, we were able to look at the hotel and get appropriate information before we arrived. I felt the we had enough information about the hotel before we decided to book and were able to phone through to check on any issues we needed verifying."
The accommodation was spacious, clean, very comfortable and attractive. The bathroom/toilet/shower room was huge and well equipped.

"Most of our expectations were met by the hotel. Car parking could be a problem."
Good sized, reasonably equipped room + enormous bathroom Hotel very well situated.
The area outside the room stank of stale cigarette smoke, and the room smelt as well of this reception offered to move us, but we couldn't stand the hassle of repacking. The fllors both over us and under us creaked badly
