"It was adequate but it was nothing like the impression we were given on the internet sites that advertise this Hotel."

It was generally clean and provided parking was good. Breakfast not too bad.

what you were promised on the Internet was not what you got in person. Coach house out dated and poor facilities in the room we stayed e.g had to buy our own kettle, shower head held by cello tape

"We enjoyed our stay and have recommended the hotel to friends."

Staff all helpful and friendly. Bus stops immediately by and opposite the hotel. Pool was adequate temperature. Plenty of car parking available in the grounds. Good variety of food for breakfast.

    Nothing to report.

bed linen extemely clean. breakfast excellent. extremely reasonable tariff.

not really a bad point but I would have liked to have used the pool, only to be told that it wasn't heated properly as a part was awaited to repair - not a chance I wanted to take in January !!

"Overall it was a nice place to stay, handy if you want the York Races, being right next door."

The Food was very nice. The bedroom was also very nice, we were in the coach house, which is not atached to the main body of the hotel but had our own seating area, much like a mini conservatory. Nice!

I have never slept, or tried to sleep in such a hard bed. I think I would have been more comfortable on the floor. Are all the beds like this I wonder? The pillows are very thin too. The hotel has a nice little pool and a sauna, however, it is promoted by the staff but it is not until you read the hotel bible so to speak that you find out the sauna is not included in the price of your stay and is chargable at £5 for half and hour. The older lady in the restaraunt is a little over bearing calling the men "Sir" and the ladies "Love". I know she is only trying to be friendly but I think she forgets there are people from other countries who just do not get her humour, as I noted on more than one occasion with an american couple, also it comes across as a bit patronising too! The shower had no power behind it so it was difficult to rinse off the shower gel and it was either to hot or to cold....hence I sent my partner in first!!!!!

"staff we encountered were polite, especially breakfast staff - bed linen and towels clean - room and decor and furniture particulary bad."

Staff very friendly, polite and nice

Decor of the hotel very poor - dated and unkempt - Bath had a leak, poor equipment in the room - very dated wall mounted hairdryer - furniture chipped varnish and paintwork, dirty upholstery - very poor standard for such a beautiful building. You must be expecting complaints if you are asking people not to use this form but to refer for further information, cooked breakfast was very megre - the hotel could be presented in a much more satisfactory way and would encourage more business and more pleasant reviews

Four-poster bed a bonus; plenty of space in room. understand we had an upgrade, though, so can't always expect this for room rate we paid.

"The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is on a main road into the city centre but the hotel itself is very quiet. Its a long walk into the centre but straight forward and there are plenty of buses to catch. The room was clean, as described and well furnished. The restaurant in the hotel provided a varied menu at a good prices. We would definately go back there."

It was exactly as described. A good size room in a lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff.

We had been looking forward to the pool but this was very small and in a quite a cold and dingy room.
