"Enjoyable stay and would certainly recommend to others."
Staff were helpful and friendly. Good breakfast made to order. Good value despite lateness of booking.
Only bad points were noise from a nearby late night bar and the rundown state of other properties in the road.

"Excellent value."
Really friendly service from everyone involved.
Very cramped en suite, shower basin too shallow. Could only find one light for main room.

"All information given was good. Hotel neeeds to update its pictures as they do not do the hotel justice, especially the bar and public areas."
Clean, modern. Although it edges onto a not so good area of Morecambe, we did not have any issues with the Hotel at all.
from Derby UK, stayed on July 23, 2007
"This is the first time I have stayed in Morecambe for many years. We like to go there for day trips now and again as I went there for my holidays every year when I was growing up and it brings back many happy memories. Sadly Morecambe went down hill over the years and I stopped visiting as a result, but now there has been many improvements in recent years and although it will never be the same, it is once again a very nice place for a short break. The hotel is ideally just a few seconds walk from the sea front and all the attractions, it is well run and clean and I will certainly stay there again."
Food was very good, the rooms were good too especially the family roomideal location for all the attractions. Couldn't fault the hotel at all.
from Preston UK, stayed on January 27, 2008
"Very easy to find and is close to the 2 music venues The Platform and Dome i.e. 10 minutes walk. Parking could be a problem we managed to get the last one on the street it was 5pm so may be easier earlier. The whole hotel is freshly decorated and clean. Our pre conceived ideas of Morecambe were of a depressed town, but not now, we were pleasantly surprised and will return to this friendly place."
A pleasant well rennovated building. Bright and clean. Owners friendly and helpful.Good big full breakfast.Close to Dome ,Platform and sea.
No designated parking ,have to be lucky to get a space nearby.

Friendly greeting on arrival, spotlessly clean, large comfortable room with a good supply of tea and coffee etc., breakfast was superb. Need I say more, we will definitely stay there again should the need arise.
from Waterlooville UK, stayed on February 26, 2008
"There was no off-street car parking. Our stay was in February and we managed to park quite close to the hotel. I imagine that in the height of summer it might be very much more difficult. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and tidy, there were tea and coffee facilities. The breakfast was good and cooked freshly for us. The water pressure to the shower issue needs fixing as this could be a health and safety problem."
It was clean and the room was quite big.
Beds were uncomfortable but I guess this is a personal issue. Water pressure to shower varied all the time - very difficult to rinse hair without getting scalding then cold water.

"It would be no good for elderly or infirm as there is no lift which is stated at the time of bookingand the stairs to the rooms are very steep and narrow. It was difficult to negotiate the stairs with a suitcase"

from Chesterfield United Kingdom;UK, stayed on February 4, 2007
The location was ideal for where we needed it to be, the staff were very friendly and accomodating; the breakfast in particular was real value for money. The room was clean and tidy also.
There was a lack of space to hang clothes, especially for a couple, and the shower was very poor, warm, but a really slow trickle. No place either to store bags, suitcases etc.

"Warm, clean and comfortable. The frontage makes an impression as it is far better maintained than others in the locality."
Convenient for where I needed to be. Friendly staff.
Perhaps an earlier start than 8.30 for breakfast? It was OK on this occasion but would generally be far too late for me.

"the hotel was lovely and clean, owners were very friendly, would have preferred breakfast time to be more flexible though, only half an hour 8.30 - 9am"
the accommodation was very clean and the room well decorated. I would have liked it had there been a couple of bedside tables in between the beds to put things on. The beds were very comfy.
Only having access to hot water in the shower at specific times
from Colchester United Kingdom;UK, stayed on October 26, 2006
"Overall a gud place to be in and safe and secure. The hot and cold water mixer valve in the shower can be looked into has suddenly u get a bolt of cold water!! But it was gr8 and I will recommend people to stay at Glenthorn."

"A friendly informal b&b with chinzy and very pink decor. Clean room with en suite shower and toilet and very comfortable bed. Games room and bar run by welcoming owners. Relaxing television room. Distinct lack of healthy breakfast options. Easy access to seafront and towncentre. Internet booking offers no choice of front/rear facing room."
Clean room, comfy bed and friendly staff.
Old fashioned decor. No healthy choices at breakfast. Only Full English breakfast or cereal or white bread toast offered. No fruit or wholemeal bread or healthy cereals.

"Overall the our stay at the Glenthorne was a happy one. The hotel was as I expected from the information given about it on-line. The staff were all friendly and helpful."
It was clean and comfortable with en-suite facilities. The owners were friendly and approachable. Breakfast was excellent.
The corridors to the rooms were very narrow. The television in the room did not work well poor picture quality and remote control did not work. The beds were covered in a plastic sheet it was clearly meant to protect the mattresses but made the bed get hot and sweaty.

"A good friendly greeting, We arrived early but it wasn't a problem . They're fairly new to it an d I hope they keep their enthusiasm ..I'm sure they'll do wel in an arewa that can only improve given the climate nowadays it has to become more popular to holiday at home ...and morecambe is so close to some of the most beautiful places in the NW of England . The area has obviously not had a. easy time as Morecambe has not been an 'in place ' for years - but given the climate this could all change and Glenthorne private hotel is in the right place to take advantage of this . The area is undergoing extensive renovation too ..so we'll be back again ."
Very friendly and helpful owners / staff . Excellent value for money . Good breakfast . Plenty of information at hand .
Nothing .
