"There were no standard double rooms left so we booked a small double. This was a little small and would have been fine for one night but we were staying for 3 nights. We'll book earlier next time to get a standard double room or take a twin. Generally very good for a 2 star hotel."
Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Lovely reception/lounge area. Quiet location. Short walk to the sights in city centre.
Breakfast was ok but fresh tomatoes instead of tinned would be good. Bathroom was a little worn - chipped basin and difficult to adjust shower temperature.

the room was very dark and dingy - it had a four poster bed which concealed the television when you were in bed and the bathroom facilities seemed to be made up of left over pieces thrown together which didn't match.

Very friendly atmosphere; pleasant, courteous and helpful staff; excellent food lamb highly recomended!; nice setting; clean and tidy; well attended; owner very friendly and helpful; comfortable lounge areas; nice, cosy bar with reasonable prices; good location for access into town.
Not much to say... for television lovers, the TV reception wasn't great but that didn't bother us...; only double room avialable was was a little cramped for double bed however, this was pre-warned, and reflected in price, so no real complaint there!.

"Easy to get into the centre of Chester. Staff friendly, breakfast really good. Rooms and hotel in need of modernisation to make it acceptable to charge what they do. Would stay again but would look elsewhere first."

Rooms dated, equipment old and broken in some cases TV remote had no batteries, etc, parking not easy on busy weekend had to go on street as no space in car park, not worth the price we were charged 35 pounds each per night, not worth more than 25 each

"Day 2 was much better apart from the inconsiderate people above us but you can't blame the hotel management for that and they were excellent Richard especially"
hotel room we were given on our first night was not very good the manager was excellent and moved us to a much nicer room for the next night but someone above us had to have the television on loud at 6am in the morning so we checked out and didn't stay for a third night. Only having about 6 hrs sleep over tow nights.
Hotel needed a bit of updating which I think they were about to start doing whilst we were there
