"would definitely visit again - convenient location and good facilities."
location and cost
ITV 2 Didnt work on TV. Visitor drunk guests kept us awake throughout early hours of the morning. Would be nice to have signs to keep noise down after midnight to prompt those people that aren't so considerate.

"Good location - good facilities. Would recommend"
Had to wait for 40minutes at bar for food ordered at 21.00hrs. Kitchen had to be reminded of order!
from Ayr UK, stayed on February 17, 2009
We were disappointed that we were unable to have an evening meal in the dining room due to all the tables being booked when we arrived after a long drive.

"We enjoyed our 1 night's stay at the Ramada hotel, which was in easy reach of Chester."
Nice pleasant atmosphere in the hotel, staff helpful and polite.
Rather noisy corridors and doors to rooms.

"Hotel does not deserve a 4 star rating"
Breakfast
Rooms too small for two people Inadequate storage space in room Piles of laundry left around coridors until late afternoon Inadequate response to faults reported in room plumbing No lift to 1st floor Expensive restaurant

"ok for overnight business trip but not for pleasure have stayed in better hotels for the cheaper or same price."

Staff in the dining room were extremely helpful
The room was very small and we had asked for a room near the other guests of our party but this was not accomodated

"disappointed with the standard of the room which took away from the stay."
Breakfast and general decor of hotel
The bathroom in the room was smelly, had a lot of mildew, ceiling showed many stains of previous leaks, drinks were sold pass their sell by date.

"Overall enjoyed the stay. Just mentioned the minor points to inform you."
Helpful staff. Good breakfast. Decent size room.
Damp on the wall around the window. Floorboards near television very springy - step too hard the television would fall off the cupboard. Bed linen top and bottom sheet incorrect size. Weak shower - luke warm. Radiator not working in bathroom. Entrance slightly confusing with the No Entry sign. I drove past thinking the main entrance was further down. Perhaps needs an arrows for direction. Didn't receive ordered newspaper.

"Overall good although disappointed at distance hotel was from town considering the name of the hotel."
Clean and convenient. Reasonable room rates and near main roads
The hotel is called 'Ramada Chester' which led me to believe it was in the town centre. Although it is very close - less than 2 miles - this is not a short walk, especially for a lone female traveller. I think it should be more clearly stated that the hotel is not in the city centre.

"enjoyed our stay especially the use of the liesure facilities"
Excellent friendly and helpful staff. Also food in resturant was fantastic and very good value for money
Surprised that 4 star hotel did not have air conditioning and traffic too noisy to have windowopen! Breakfast was good but both mornings luke warm

"This is a very average hotel yet it costs a lot to stay/eat here. Needs updating. Staff need to be more consistent as relatives of ours were offered a discounted rate for breakfast and we weren't."
Good breakfast and food in general. Friendliness of staff.
Cost of breakfast, rushed explanation of services at check in, old fashioned decor in rooms, lack of parking spaces, very noisy and creaky floorboards throughout the hotel!
from Staffordshire UK, stayed on October 7, 2008
"ok. Only stopped overnight. On hindsight would have booked somewhere within walking distance of town centre"
Staff were friendly. Evening meal and breakfast was good
Hairdrier in roon didnt work. Uncomfortabley hot in rooms in spite of radiator not being on. Only one window would open, other was faulty these points we alerted reception to

"overall we did enjoy the stay, probably due to the fact the wedding was held there and that was a very enjoyable experience. staff were helpful, and also quick service."
the hotel check in staff were very helpful, we arrived late after getting lost and the staff were brilliant, they just told us we can sort out all details when we were ready to, found this really helpful.
the room was really warm, we had a working fan, but was not enough to cool the room down. we also found the food and drink very expensive, would not eat there, because of prices.

Availability at short notice. Relatively close to destinations we wanted to reach.
Poor, small rooms, hotel decor dated.

Public Rooms, service and quality of meals.
Bedroom quite small, too warm and with window cracked open exposed to heavy traffic noise 24hrs from very close proximity to motorway.

The extensive purple decor and the tediously slow TV remote and having to navigate menu after menu just to watch television.

The staff and prices

Location to the A55 Trunk Road and close to Chester centre.
The leisure facilities were fine but the changing rooms were looking a bit 'jaded'.

"Hotel facilities were excellent accompanied by friendly, welcoming staff. The only let down was the size of the room which felt extremely cramped and claustrophobic for 2 people, perhaps more suited to single occupancy?"
Leisure Facilities, friendly staff, nice tv, great offer in restaurant for evening meal
Room unbelievably small inc very small bed - bathroom even smaller! Corridor floors very creaky causing a disturbance each time someone walked past your room. We wanted a drink when we woke up in the morning, only to find the kettle did not work.
from Llanfairfechan UK, stayed on November 3, 2007
Room on the small side. The bed very small. Only 4ft.
from Northampton UK, stayed on October 27, 2007
"We enjoyed our stay - everything was as we expected, with the added bonus for us that we could get into the city centre via the adjacent park and ride facility. As a base for visiting Chester it was excellent"
It was very clean and staff were very polite and helpful.
I feel that there should be pedestrian access to the hotel - although we arrived by car, we walked from the hotel to catch a bus to the city centre, and had to walk along the access road, with some drivers driving a little too fast!
from Bolton United Kingdom;UK, stayed on July 18, 2007
"We arrived three hours early and thought we would have to wait until 2 O'clock to check-in but the lady of reception was very helpful and managed to find us a room. We found all the staff very friendly and helpful. It was our 25th Wedding Anniversary and we decided to eat in the restuarant the food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. We found the local taxi firm very reasonable so did not bother with the buses. We had a wonderful time and would definately recommend this hotel."
The room was lovely it was very nicely decorated.
I found it a bit of a problem not having a dressing table in the room.
from Blackburn UK, stayed on January 4, 2008
"We stayed on New Years Eve at the Ramada and the taxi cost, £8 into the town centre but it was time and a half, it's not far at all from the centre and the hotel was easy to find. The hotel was wonderful and I would definitely stay there again."
All the facilities in the hotel were excellent Pool, bar and restaurant. The breakfast was delicious, the room was very clean and tidy and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.
On arrival the hotel from the outside didn't look the most appealing, but on entering the hotel all that changed.
from Bedford UK, stayed on December 16, 2007
Location
Unpleasant smell surrounding the complex. Restaurant food was mediocre and overpriced, in my opinion. £6 charge for wireless internet access is ridiculous in the 21st century.

"Restaurant, housekeeping & spa staff very friendly and helpful. Reception staff less so and gave out misleading info. Hotel itself lacks enough natural light, a decent ventilation system and lifts."
Always cleaned very well
room extremely hot - without the fan provided it would have been unbearable

"Very enjoyable stay and we would definitely like to stay at the Ramada when we next visit Chester."

"Just a short drive from Chester City Centre the hotel is ideally located for the leisure traveller wanting an overnight stay at a reasonable price. Modern and clean; the room was a little on the small side but contained all the amenities required for an overnight stay. The restaurant aired on the expensive side but offered a wide choice of evening and breakfast menu - the standard of the food we had was excellent."
Modern, clean, and value for money. Ideally located for a short drive into Chester City Centre.
Hotel room was a little on the small side!
