Lovely, quiet location. Good restaurant. Large, pleasant room.
Loud music playing everywhere - we could even hear it in our room. Lighting in room not good enough for reading.

"Very pleasantly surprised, a true oasis situated on the outskirts of a busy City. Staff were very friendly and helpful-nothing was too much trouble. The only negative experience - hotel was too hot. I,m sure the heating costs could be halved by turning down the temperature thus improving overall profits, whilst still being very comfortable."
The rooms in Walton Hall were very luxurious

"The service was excellent and the staff friendly and efficient. The restaurant was of a very high standard although the staff were a little lacking in their knowledge towards etiquette of the various glasses used throughout service for different drinks!"
Delightful rooms which were clean and well decorated.

"Very nice hotel, very large rooms and plenty of leisure facilities, only problem was that the dining areas were across the lake in the other part of the hotel, charlies bar where i ate was more like a greasy spoon cafe, but the food was tasty."
Good large rooms with lots of facilities
outside room was noisy, like a large pump room constantly running

"generally had a very good stay. the bride and groom had problems with their wedding suite, they had flies and spiders blown into their bedroom off the lake but this is unrelated to my booking."
executive room was small compared to other executive bedrooms booked within our party.

"In general we had a very relaxing weekend break although the staff particularly in the bar area were somewhat indignant to our prescence."
Superb setting & a building with character.
Our room was situated on the main landing, and consequently was extremely noisy & busy, although the worst experience was at 06.45am,when we were awoken by very loud conversation, which turned out to be members of staff talking to each other from our landing to the ground floor, which only ceased when i got out of bed and complained.

"This is a nice, mid-level hotel, in a quiet location. The room was very comfortable, lots of hot water, nice furnishings, and well equipped. The restaurant food was good, although the portions were almost absurd a request for a piece of Wensleydale resulted in a dinner-plate covered with slabs of cheese, enough for table of six!. There was a good selection of half and small bottles of wine, good for a solo traveller. The main complaint was that internet coverage was very patchy through the hotel, a problem for a road warrior trying to work, and GSM coverage also intermittent. The staff, although friendly, could be a bit dopey one, asked about nearby running trails, wasn't aware that the hotel is on the Trans-Pennine trail; another wasn't sure where breakfast was served. Generally tho', nice hotel, reasonably priced."
good quiet location, friendly staff tho's sometimes not very well informe, comfortable room, ok sports facilities
internet access in room and public areas was intermittent, could provide more information on surrounding areas

"We wanted to used the hotel to sit and discuss our business. We were hoping for a quiet lounge area where we could relax. Due to weddings and generally being busy the only area was the bar which was noisy for what we required. Could do with a relaxing lounge area."
The room was spacious.
It could have done with a soft sofa as well as chairs. My shower did not drain away freely. My collegues bathroom had a foul smell on arrival.

"Very disapointing - our stay was marred by the lack of breakfast in the morning and lack on any apology or reason until 10.30am after we had waited over an hour. Especially as all the wedding guests and the bride and groom had paid a lot of money to be there."
Comfy bed, good shower. Most of the staff were very friendly. Manager seemed inexperienced.
The serving of breakfast - it was appauling - 70 extra wedding guests and the hotel hadn't prepared for everyone wanting breakfast in the morning.

"Overall good value and a good stay for a wedding party, staff pleasant."
It was reasonable especially as a single room, it was actually a double which is nice, a litle shabby I thought for a best western.
The television did not work properly and the zapper was held together with sellotape which does not create a good impression + there was a problem with the telephone system and it rang every 10 mins or so from 4.30a.m. and not just in my room and rec. was unable to sort it out.

"It was perfect and fully lives up to our expectations of a romantic wedding venue. We would come again for a romantic weekend of our own."
We had a fantastic time. The staff and facilities were great. The place was romantic and pretty.

"Superb facilities and location. I understand that events may be held on the weekend but rather than in increase in price on rooms I feel that you should take into consideration that this can have a detriment to the overall appeal of Waterton park Hotel! On the flip side of this all staff were superb and made our stay memorable. Would I reccomend hotel? Only on the confirmation from yourselves that no weddings were taking place! Please be mindful of the fact that we are 30 and really enjoy life- we are not being stuffy about this but I feel we have a valid point here!"
The four poster bed and the room service was superb!
The noise from the wedding reception. It's a lot of money to pay to be aware that there was a wedding going on. It definatley had an impact on out of our stay!!

"Apart from the shower which I forgot to report, the Hotel is superb and is one of my favourites. sa consultant, I travel extnsively and I enjoy the standards and friendliness of the Waterton. We had a very poor meal on the first night and whenthis was brought to the attention of the management, no charge was made. Still not too easy to find and would benefit from signs being placed from the M1."
Beautiful location, helpful staff
Not well signposted from motorway, shower didn't work properly, 1 bad meal
