"Very nice, rooms good, nice and clean, bar and restaurant area good, nice young lady on the bar, food was excellent. Prices reasonable."

Hotel is extremely close to Gatwick North Terminal and I personally stayed in it many times a few years ago when I visited my elderly mother. Not so recently as the price had gone up. I was surprised to get such a good value on line and will certainly come back.

The cost of 3 pounds per person, per trip is I consider, excessive.. it used to be one way only which was acceptable. Four of us traveling at 24 pounds for the round trip was a bit much... The gentleman on the desk on arrival was not particularly helpful when I went down to request a box of tissues, we had been left with only one tissue in the box. I had to go down 2 hours later and then the young lady on the desk immediately gave me a box from the room at the side of the desk... was it too much trouble for the man to get off his chair???

Hotel was convenient to airport. The restaurnat was good.

The room was way too hot!! The front desk were very helpful and brought us a fan and opened the window. Also the courtesy bus cost us 3.00 pounds each way to and from the airport - we thought this was a courtesy bus, ie. free!! We spend 12.00 pounds on bus fares!!

"For a one night stopover more than adequate."

Good location for Gatwick with convenient shuttle bus. Appreciated no charge for wi-fi which made this hotel an excellent value. Restaurant and bar area nice. Decent meal at reasonable price.

"I would stay there again as the overall experience was good and the rooms were clean. My blocked sink was just unfortunate and probably just an oversite by the cleaning staff."

I found the food in the restaurant excellent and the restaurant staff extremely polite and helpful. The room was very clean which is my main concern at hotels.

The sink in our bathroom was completely blocked and it smelt rather bad. I told reception at approx 6pm and they said it could not be looked at until the next day but they offered us free tickets on the shuttle to the airport as compensation which we accepted.

"Good value for money hotel - came away having enjoyed the stay and not feeling I had been overcharged for the experience. My only criticism would be the arrangement for smokers - but this seems to be par for the course just now."

Good value for money, wide choice of enjoyable food, clean pleasant room, efficient pleasant service.

I am not a drinker but if I were I would enjoy a pleasant glass in lush comfortable surroundings - because I happen to enjoy a cigarette after my meal I am directed outside to a wall at the back of the hotel with two giant ashtrays and no seating. I appreciate that I need to be segregated from people who do not partake in this disgusting habit but this manner of dealing with smokers I find quite insulting.

"We have stayed at this hotel once before & were very pleased. However that time Our room was at the end of the corridor which was very quiet & comfortable and in good order. However, even on that occasion we booked a wake up call which didn't arrive same young man on reception."

The young lady on the check in desk was very pleasent & efficient, even under pressure. The hotel bus driver to & from the airport was exceptionally helpful & friendly

Very noisy, due in part to the fact that our room was only one away from the lift. television remote had no/dead batteries. shower on/off control was very stiff & difficult to operate. young man on check out desk very slow to appear at 5am & slow to deal with check out & yawned constantly throughout the process!

Reception on arrival was appalling and quite frankly rude. When shift changed they was much frienly and helpful.

"The staff made the stay acceptable but the heating was not good at all. I will give the hotel another opportunity to be able to say that the day was just a unfortunate "blip" when I pick my wife up from her holiday abroad early next month"

The food was good, room clean and the airport ferry bus was a big bonus.

The heating was atrocious, not only in the room but all over the hotel, but the staff were excelent and understanding in providing an alterative heating unit. A minor irritation was that the sink & bath was very slow to drain down the plug-hole.

"Good place to stay overnight for early Gatwick flights."

Staff friendly, efficient, good restaurant attached. Room clean, bed comfortable and many pillows, extra blankets available. Shuttle to Gatwick on time, runs frequently and is inexpensive.

Walls very thin, can hear normal conversation from next room. Bathroom grout needed some maintenance, pristine at top but black at tub/wall intersection.

"With the exception of the lounge/restaurant service, the overall experience was good. I would stay here again if the occasion arose. "

Check-in was efficient. Shuttle bus to Gatwick was good.

Directions to the hotel, while adequate for those familiar with London, were a little confusing. Service in the lounge/restaurant in the evening was extremely poor.

Receptionist was very unwelcoming, and unsympathetic re the TV which didn't work, and wasn't fixed or exchanged during our stay , or the water which was cold. She said there was a problem ... no other comment.

"We asked for a wakeup call at 5am since could not get the TV to work. It did not come. When we checked out, desk attendent claimed out phone was off the hook. Too late to go and check. Luckily we woke up anyway."

Evening food in the resturant was good.

Room needs a regular alarm clock/radio. The alarm on the TV would not set. We spoke to some gentlemen the next morning and they could not get it to work either. Menu tells you to press alarm and then a number. But when you press the number it goes to a channel. Also bed was not attached to headboard or maybe heavy enough. Tended to slide if you leaned back wrong.

"Didn`t like the place at all - for me it felt seedy, ill kempt, I regret my choice, normally I find the Best Western name to be representative of a much higher standard"

    Proximity to airport

Insufficient towels in bathroom - when I pointed this out the next morning, I was peremptorily informed that I should have read the information pamphlet to find the location of additional towels hidden in the room - Poorly done, not good enough by a long way. Towels belong in the bathroom where you can find them upon emerging from the shower, & they should be thick , not thin like paper towels. Beds worn out, need replacing. Hotel needs renovation Garish bright lighting in the bar & lounge

Adequate space to open luggage; quiet; convenient to airport with adequate transport to airport; comfortable bed; clean; staff was very helpful in checking flight times.

Coffee was made by a machine. Overlooked a roundabout but who cares - we weren't there for the view.

"Made our last night in England a comfortable stay and enabled us to get to the airport early the next morning without worries."

Very convenient to the airport, clean rooms were very comfortable, Nice view out large window over countryside and allowed us to watch the planes.

Walls were a bit thin, we could hear people talking in the room next to us. We were put in a room with an adjoining door, this may be why.
