Excellent location; good breakfast
Decor of hotel rather shabby. Limited car parking space.

Good value for money apart the food and drink is a little pricey but i have stayed here 4 times all together

"Good"
very clean and in good order. Shower flow was a bit slow but otherwise hot. Bed/pillows were comfortable.
Food in restaurant wasn't overly impressive. My husband had duck and it was tough and chewy. But Duck has this problem.

"pleaseant and relaxed"
relaxed atmosphere - nice setting - clean and tidy
not much local info available / not much tea/coffee facilities in room

"Okay, I'd stay again."
Good parking, secluded environment. Nice room. all facilities worked but maybe two sachets of coffee is a bit mean. Brilliant spot for taking off and landing.
Hall smelt of stale tobacco smoke from smokers outside. Express dinner, given the impression our table was wanted. Brightly-light dining room with load music meant we didnt stay much longer than necessary.

"Value for money won it for me, provided I get te same room rate I would stay there and hope to get a room at the back of the hotel!"
Good size room excellent dining room good value for money
TV not working, no air conditioning, noisy transfer buses waiting with engine running outside room - secondary double glazing helped. Lots of early/late holday flight transfers to Gatwick Airport meant doors banging throughout the night - ear plugs work!
from Hampshire UK, stayed on May 26, 2009
rooms too small, too hot, very noisy, with little sound proofing between rooms, right under Gatwick flight path.

"Bad my car was moved fo no good reason, and comsiquently the car was damaged. the parking point i chosse was selected as ag odd safe place to be. The car was move, parked badly, scratches on the doors and a dent in the bonet. "
Poor instructions on receipt for car retrival, it should contain the bus number and pick up point number to refer to once returned. Resturant closed to early, 23:00

"I would never stay there again"
none
poor quality of english spoken on the reception; insufficient staff to attend people booking in, old fashioned hotel, no staff to take your luggage to your room
stayed on March 28, 2009
"very content with good value for money having booked on line at 'last minute'."
night receptionist 10pm very efficient and courteous.
as i was driving a long wheel base hire van, the car parking spaces were rather tight; from the reception area, i had to return to the public road and complete a three point turn to access the car park where i occupied four car spaces. it was not easy to exit the tight space on departure. it would be useful if there were a few larger spaces suitable for lwb vehicles etc.

"other than the problems mentioned, the hotel was ideal for purpose and we would be prepared to try the hotel again "
room was good for purpose i.e. overnight stop over for plane from gatwick
no hot water for shower or sink reception said that this was due to the supply being on the same line as the kitchens i.e. high usage, a poor excuse and needs to be rectified. Shower also poor quality and soaked the whole washroom uncontrollable. Room very small for longer stay I hope larger rooms would be available for longer stays.

"Value for money, no complaints."
Good value for money, reasonable bar, restaurant and breakfast facilities.
Bathrooms are badly designed & heating seems to be hit & miss.

You lost our booking and we were lucky to get a room. I told the person on the phone that we were dropping the car off on the 24th but needed the room for the 31st. You spelt my name wrong so you couldn't find my booking on the 24th. Then you found it and we confirmed that we were staying on the night of the 31st. That evening we were put down as a no show and my card was charged. This was a week earlier than I had anticipated. i had not yet been paid and so went into unauthorised overdraft and charged £25 by my bank. If the money had come out on the 31st this would not have been an issue. We were disgusted with the service recieved from the man on reception on the 31st. He was very unhelpful and not apologetic at all. We will not be staying at this hotel or booking through your company again.

I was told that "due to a group booking" we had been upgraded to a "Presidential Suite". This was in the anex, and smelt damp, the radiators did not work and had not for some days and the room was definately NOT a suite. I asked at reception to be downgraded, but was instead offered another "Presidential Suite" in the anex. The radiators in this room did not work either. The mattres and pillows were the worst I have ever experienced I stay in a lot of Travelodge's but it was late and we were tired and it was obvious we had been moved for the worst to accomodate a large party booking. This ranks as my second worst hotel experience, and am therefore VERY unlikely to stay at this hotel again.

"Pleasant enough - nowhere near as views expressed on websites - as the saying goes 'you get what you pay for!'"
Room was adequate for our needs - just somewhere to stay before flying out of Gatwick. Breakfast was good.
Bathroom facilities were very cramped and needed refurbishing.

not easy to approach hotel

"Convenient for airport parking, good bus service to South Terminal. Menu selection and value good. Could do with early departure breakfast as had to get 6am bus and food not available at that time."
On line booking very straight forward. On arrival I was expected although I had to remind staff of the rate and car park inclusive deal.
Shower inoperative, air con inoperative, rooms are tired and could do with refurbishment. I was greeted at the car park office with a full blown argument between a customer and a member of staff over payment of a car park fee, which didnt fill me with confidence. However there were no problems on collection of my car.

"Good stay genrally may stay again"
Fast check in polite staff at reception
The shower just treakled out wasnt very good and the lady who worked in the ruspers resturant was very unhelpful, not a people's person at all i really dont know why she was their she seem to think she was better then everyone else, had a very snobby attitude!! Bed was a bit too hard!Drinks were quite expensive!!

"After booking the hotel, I read some reviews that made me consider cancelling, but decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did as we were pleasently surprised and feel it was very good value for money compared to other Hotels in the area. Pity about the weather! "
The room wasn't huge, but big enough and it was very clean with plenty of towels, tea, coffee etc. The bed was comfy and the TV had a good picture. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The carpet was quite grubby in our room and I wouldn't want to walk bare footed on it. The guests that leave during the night tend to bang their doors a lot - but you can't blame the hotel for that!

"would recommend it to friends and colleagues generally for short stays in Gatwick"
beautiful country inn setting, very cozy room, very comfortable bed, adequate space in bedroom, delicious complete buffet breakfast, excellent price, coach to airport, more than 1 restaurant with varying opening hours
no assistance with luggage, corridor doors leading into room have not stoppers therefore, difficulty of transferring heavy luggage, tiny shower, musty smell of room, could not find room immediately - maze like corridors, coach should pass by airport every half hour rather than hour
from Ventnor UK, stayed on July 29, 2008
Drinks at the bar were very expensive. Only one of the staff seemed happy in his work, the rest seemed miserable

"apart from the room our stay was good. the whole of the hotels decor could do with updating but overall we had a happy stay. food was good and staff were friendly."
mostly everything was good.
The room was very out of date, lacking a few things and the decor was awful and scruffy. tiles were needing replacing.

"Served the purpose"
Cheap and close to my destination the following day
Air conditioning did not work. I had to leave my window open because it was baking hot and I was on the Gatwick flightpath. I knew I was near Gatwick but didn't think I had to leave the window open. No mention of the fact it was a 99% pre holiday hotel.

the walls are paper thin, rooms need to brought into 21st century. BUT.you get what pay for. Could be wonderful venue, just lacks investment.
