"We had higher expectations of the hotel - looking at the Internet pictures. Our room had a dirty toilet, the kettle was full of limescale and the mugs were dirty, and the breakfast was average. We asked the receptionist whether there were any nice restaurants in the nearby village and she said they were quite good. This was an overstatement! In general we were really disappointed with our choice of hotel and found it bad value for money. "
The hotel was conveniently located and easy to access
Dirty toilets cleaned by the receptionist Dirty mugs and limescale kettle exchanged by the receptionist Full English breakfast was prepared to average quality

"I can see your market and you fill it well, obviously as you were full. I stay in hotels mostly chain 4 days per week and I guess I expect a superior double to be 'superior'."
Breakfast. Location. Dining-room staff.
Noisy room, Fire alarm for different building @ 23:00. Asked for Sunday Times got Telegraph - that was changed for Times in reception but without the magazines. Dinner on Friday was made to a price with no choice of menu. No residents parking allocation, no presumption or booking question for dinner.

"due to the inadequate cleaning etc i had no sleep and left as soon as possible. sadly all the bad points could have been easily altered if a check of the room had been done before hand."
food was excellent
cobwebs and spiders in the room, bathroom and entrance to the room block. hand towel hand holes.dead spider on bathroom floor. Not informed by reception that breakfast would be 30 minutes later than advertised.

"very good access in to swindon's windmill business park"
Food Quality was good
Food at the hotel was generally expensive and it was therefore considerably cheaper to eat out at local pubs. WiFi access should be included for business travellers but was a very expensive add on

"Lovely quiet room- I had a small double which was perfect for a single traveller and had views over open countryside. Plus the restaurant was absolutely fantastic, quite high-end - can't recommend the food highly enough better than Malmaison Birmingham. On a Friday they do a '3 courses and a glass of wine for £15' deal which is great value."

"An excellent short stay in a lovely hotel."
The executive bedroom was lovely and roomy with a four poster bed and a comfy settee. The bathroom was large with his and hers washbasins and a lovely bath and shower. Also there were lovely Gilgrist and Soames toiletries. The restaurant meal was excellent - a very good chef and some of the best food I have eaten in restaurants for a long time. I had the continental breakfast which was plentiful and my partner had the full english which he could not fault.

"We came to stay for 1 night to attend a family party but will come again as there are so many interesting sights in this area. We had a lovely stay."
Nice quiet position, but very easy to reach from M4 motorway. Good size room with bath and shower. Very pleasant conservatory restaurant with stone flagged floor. Plenty of choice for breakfast.

Need to pick up on their restaurant food was poor quality and need to use more local produce. Send in Gordon Ramsey and the service was poor.

"Overall excellent"
The hotel building was lovely and the grounds were beautifully decorated for Christmas.
Room was a bit colder than we would have liked. A spare heater would have been useful.

"We stayed at this hotel approximately 2 years ago and had a lovely stay. It was very convenient for re-visiting the parts of Wiltshire and Somerset where my wife and I courted. Since it was a weekend away to celebrate her 40th birthday it did put a damper on the weekend."
Helpful management
Booking information was incorrect - my reservation confirmation implied that non-smoking rooms were optional but could not be guaranteed thus implying that smoking was ok. On arrival I discovered that the whole hotel is non-smoking which is not what I booked, and since our arrival time was after 7pm there was little chance of finding an alternative. The "executive" room which I booked was very nice, yet the bathroom had the bath and shower built into the side of the roof, and provided very limited headroom for the shower. Since I am 6'7" tall it was impossible so I asked for a different room. This room, although classed as "executive", was less than half the size of the original and the bed was old and lumpy. Eventually we opted for the only room available of a reasonable size which was a disabled room with a wetroom. Not ideal but the only option.

Good location, full hotel facilities for same price as a travel inn.
Room was very small, although it had been advertised as such. It would be better to just put a single bed in the room and sell it as such.

"We had a wonderdul stay in this hotel. I have two minor complaints: -The room decor looked a little dated and not like the photos on the internet. Although it was only a standard room as opposed to a deluxe one I think the photos should represent this better. The shower was not a power or electric shower and it had no pressure at all - this was very disappointing. However the staff were all lovely and the english breakfast in the morning was really wonderful. The location was very beautiful, convenient and instructions to find it were easy to follow. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again, but in a deluxe room this time!"
Wonderful english breakfast.
Poor shower - no pressure at all due to type of shower used. Room looked a little dated.
from Plymouth UK, stayed on October 25, 2007
"The accommodation was not really up to the standard I would expect for the price. I would expect more sound proofing between rooms and a proper double size bed. The restaurant in the morning was chaotic with staff concentrating on clearing tables and not attending to clients arriving who needed tables with fresh cutlery etc. Staff were friendly and helpful but had to be prompted. A small thing: There was no cereal for those with wheat intolerance. Bananas are a good source of carbohydrate for those who can't have the bread etc. No veggie option. If you have a veggie option it needs to be labelled as such."
Nice bathroom, nice view, quiet outside. Good to have tea making facilities. Clean.
Paper thin walls could hear neighbours very clearly. TV satellite channels were only sport! Dreary room. Small bed.

"The hotel is in a quiet location, a 10 min walk to the centre of Wootten Bassett, where there are some excellent ale houses. It is also very handy for the Junction 16 of the M4. The breakfast is very good. I did not eat in the hotel in the evening, but heard good reports from others. I would stay here again and can recommend it."
Very clean, comfortable, adequate space.

"We had an enjoyable stay at the hotel and again, the meal on Friday evening was excellent. A few niggly things but nothing that would stop me from visiting again or recommending to others"
Very courteous staff, excellent meal in the main restaurant on Friday evening, nice sized room and comfortable
No hot water on Sunday morning so had a tepid shower, the toilet brush in the bathroom needs changing, the water pump for the shower system seemed to be in our room so we were awoken when the room next door showered. Breakfast on Saturday was nice but all there were no pastries. We had breakfast at 9:30 but nothing had been replenished. The weather was wet which meant walking to and from the room was a tad unpleasant not your fault but perhaps provide umbrellas for quests if staying in one of the out-houses.
