"our stay was very pleasant"

the hotel was very friendly and clean

I couldn't fault my stay in any way. In fact I'm staying again on the 18th June.

No bad points.

Staff attitude and courtesy was spot-on. Bedding was spotless.

Old sprung mattress, I could feel the springs in my back all night. Layer of dust around edge of room which a 'quick hoovering' would not reach. No cooked breakfast ???

Paid for overnight parking. However too many cars therefore had to park in dentist opposite.

"I found the hotel very cold over night and in the morning. I think everything we needed know was told to us when booking. I did mention in the morning I was cold and was told there were blankets in house keeping, this would have been a good idea to tell me and show me when we arrived. I would give this hotel another chance as I believe the owners are relatively new and they obviously have some wrinkles to iron out."

Pleasant owners when I saw them. Ease of finding. Cleanliness.

It was very cold at night and in the morning I found the lounge and dining room very cold. We made a point of going to breakfast so we would have service as the sign said. We were asked re tea/ coffee then just brought toast and had to ask when someone came back re helping ourselves to everything else as the sign said only self service until 7.30 we did not like to

"I was pleased with the distance to the centre of Horley, a few minutes walk. Transport provided by hotel was excellent and on time. Would certainly book again on my next trip to London."

Very convenient to Gatwick Airport. Accomodation simple but clean and very adequate for my purpose.

The shower was a typical British example with very poor water pressure.

The overall facility was very nice, as were the owners. THe location was very quiet and restful.

The only dislike was the shower, which at times did not function very well.

"My husband and I were very pleased with Springwood Guest House. As we arrived late, they left a key for us to let ourselves in and into our room. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We would definitely recommend staying there as it is very close to Gatwick Airport and is easy to get to by taxi. They also provided a shuttle to/from the airport between set times with was very helpful."

The accommodations were unique, clean, and well maintained. It was very comfortable. The pillows were great.

They did not have coffee prior to 7:30 AM. Would suggest that a carafe be made available to guests prior to the person serving coffee

"I was pleased to be picked up at Gatwick, since we never travelled in England before. The hotel itself, was cozy. The beds were good to sleep on."

The ownwers picked us up at the airport, which turned out to be a mixup. But they were patient, and waited for us just the same. The mixup was my fault, not theirs.

Wish that the bathroom was a bit bigger, and that there was more of a typical English breakfeast.

Room was easy to get to. Nice breakfast and was also offered fruit to take on my journey although I did not take any. It was a nice offer.

Our room was like a little cottage. There was a beautiful garden area where we could sit out and enjoy the evening.

"Wake up at 5:30 AM by noise. Fell back to sleep approx. 7:00, woke by 8:00 by crying children. Crying continued thru late morning and I finally left. 2nd day, again woke early due to noise. Advertised breakfast consisted of juice, fruit, and cereal. No hot water for tea or coffee, jams but nothing to put it on. Very poor. Probably the basic reason I would not return."

Room was small but adequate. Inn is quaint and a welcome change from hotel life. Airport shuttle very prompt and accommodating.

Noise, crying childrenof staff, breakfast

"The question I had was concerning getting to and from the airport - with an early a.m. arrival. They were very kind to pick me up early, and my room was ready! Because my suitcase was so heavy, I was unable to carry it upstairs - they let me leave it in the lounge which was kept locked part of the time - so that ended up working well for me."

The location was wonderful for arriving or departing from Gatwick airport. The owner was so nice to offer pick up from the airport and delivery to the airport. It was the perfect place to stay for our purposes!

"As well as the bed being uncomfortable the sheets were starched and added to the dis-comfort. The heater in the washroom only worked for a short period and then cut out. The heating in the room was also on for only a short period."

"Room was very basic and needs updating, but the owner was receptive to letting us check in early and provided transportation to the airport the following morning. Room would have been fine for sleeping, but it was a bit confining for spending the afternoon reading and relaxing. Really missed a cup of fresh coffee in the AM, but was happy to have cereal, fruit, yogurt and rolls available before leaving for the airport."

The owner accomodated our early arrival from the cruise ship and let us check in early. Transportation to airport was provided at 7AM the following mornning. Convenient to airport. Self serve breakfast was available early in the morning, but only juice for a drink.

Room needs updating and is very basic. Would have been nice to have an area either indoors or outside for reading as the room had only one straight back chair. Missed fresh coffee in the AM as the instant Nescafe in room was not very good.

Clean, comforting and welcoming. En-suite supurb. Breakfast lovely. Really enjoyed and appreciated the lifts to and from the airport and having a place to leave the car.

Having only stopped the one night there was nothing we disliked.

"For a quick, overnight stay before leaving for the airport, it was just fine. It was clean and nicely furnished and the owner/proprietress was friendly and helpful. Even though continental breakfast was advertised as being served from 7:30 a.m., we were able to have it earlier because of our flight time. It was light but more than adequate croissants, cold cereal, fruit, yogurt, coffee/tea. Neighborhood around the house was pleasantly residential. No complaints at all, other than the tiny bathroom!"

Close to Gatwick airport with shuttle service available. Nice and clean and adequate for our overnight needs. Proprietress/owner was very friendly.

Bathroom was tiny - sink was VERY tiny - only good for shaving - not washing face, etc. Tall person would have a problem with toilet space.

"We used the disabled persons room at this hotel. My elderly mother is disabled and we needed ensuite facilities for a person in her condition. The room was as advertised. There was plenty of room for us three adults. Comfortable beds; large shower and toilet area that would accommodate a wheelchair if necessary. There were tea and coffee facilities and a television. The room was annexed to the the main building and we had a key for both. Breakfast was fine - simple: cereal, toast and croisants, yoghurt, fruit. We helped ourselves and could have as much as we wanted. Given the area and the quality of service we felt the price of "

The staff were excellent. One member of staff in particular was extremely helpful when we had a problem with our car. She changed the tyre for us and made arrangments for us at a local tyre to organise a replacement. Definitely above and beyond the call of duty. We were in the area owing to a family bereavement and their kindness made things bearable during an extremely difficult time.

Lovely clean, confortable guest house with everything I needed, very helpful and friendly staff.

Convenient location

"We have used 3 B&B's as stopovers for Gatwick in the last 3 years and this is the only one to which we would return. The first had avery nice room but the staff were stuffy and not particularly friendly. The 2nd was grotty and this was very nice and the staff were friendly. If they had a bigger room and ensuite I'd have been perfectly happy."

Clean and pleasant room. Double glazed for noise

Room was smallish and bathroom was definiely smallish. No worse than others in the area but a tad bigger all round would have been nice.

"I needed an inexpensive overnight stay near Gatwick Airport and Springwood met my expectations well. The room was functional and clean with a small shower area, toilet and sink. In room basic TV and tea/coffee making facilities were a plus. Horley was a short stroll away for supper and a pint. Although their courtesy shuttle did not run 24 hours they did make sure a taxi was waiting for me early in the morning, which cost me 5gbp. I wasn't there long enough to sample breakfast or properly meet my hosts, but the little interaction I had was positive."

Courtesy shuttle was a plus. Quiet - was not aware of other guests.

Basic, clean and friendly and good value for money. Excellent shower with lots of hot water.

Room a little small.

It has a good location and the pick up and drop off services is a great help.

The breakfast really should have more variety. I understand the continental breakfast is handy for B&B owners but toast and cereal can be made exiting. Give peple more choice of breads, real fresh fruit isn't hard to do and keeps just as easy in the fridge.
