"It was fine for what we needed i.e. for a short stay"

    Location . Breakfast--Price

The en-suite was very small & needed refurbishment. Noisy passers-by in the small hours.

    "We enjoyed the area"

Access to buses and trains adequate

Room too crowded neither wardrobe door could be opened due to lack of space between the wardrobe and the bed - and the bed could not be moved. Only one chair. No upright chair. No table. An unnecessary single bed in the room. Tiny sink. Very cramped shower room and toilet.

"Fine. Would probably not be our number one choice for a longer leisure stay we'd be looking for something a tiny bit smarter and one that had a bar/served evening food, but it served our purposes for this one night perfectly."

Central position was very useful to avoid need to drive when so many Mansfield hotels are positioned at or near motorway junctions ... Breakfast was a hearty one, and a good start to the day.

Steep stairs!! only joking: we did agree to take a top-floor room

"Ideal for my purpose. Would recommend for a short stay."

Pleasant staff. The town centre is very near, within easy walking distance. A good shower too I always like a good shower!

None really, the room was nice and quiet....not too warm...not too cold.

"It suited what I needed to be there for. If its short stay you need, it's ideal for a few nights."

Clean, warm, quiet room. Owner was accommodating as I cancelled the last night without any quibble. A very short walk to the town centre.

Water came through the ceiling from someone showering upstairs at one point. The whole hotel could do with modernising a little.

"Good place with nice staff well located for the center of town."

Nice place with friendly staff. The shower works well which is important in a cold country! Tea and coffee in the room and TV.

Check out at 10am is a problem. I'd arrange something else next time like making a special arrangement so I'm allowed to stay later

"If you're looking for somewhere for a short stay and are not too fussy then this hotel is fine. I will be back."

Good value. Well located near town centre. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff.

A bit run down, but what do you expect for the price? I wouldn't come here with the wife!

"Quiet location. Had a good nights sleep. However I feel the room was overpriced. I've stayed in luxury rooms for not much more than the Clifton Hotel cost. £20 cheaper and I'd have been happier with the poor quality of the room."

    Friendly and helpful staff.

En suite room was too small, claustrophobic. In need of modernising. TV didn't work well. Carpets not clean.

"It's not a good idea to mix boarders with people staying for a break. I won't book online again as it's too anonymous and in future I'll check there's no boarders."

Friendly and helpful staff, decent breakfast, comfortable beds.

Some men were living there, playing loud music. When I mentioned it, staff member said they'd get the police if it started again. Made me very anxious.

    Very spacious room.

Althought it was a non smoking hotel there was a strong smell of tobacco in the main hall when we arrived as if someone had been smoking. The bedroom door would not lock from the inside with the mortive key and the second set of keys did not work at all.

"Nice hotel and staff, good location. Shame about the size of the rooms and the noise."

    Price, location, breakfast

Size of rooms, thin walls having to listen to the next room playing Playstaion games until the early hours

I did not like anything about the accommodation. I thought it was dreadful. I didn't know hotels like this still existed. I suppose the breakfast was OK.

Everything. The hotel was tatty. The whole place was shabby. The room was dirty. The bathroom was falling apart.
