"Generally OK, just the room I had was too small."

Goodish value at £45/night but no higher with basic breakfast,internet and airport transfer included. There was an attempt to charge me for car parking- don't even think about doing that!

Room 25 is too small. Internet connection only available in lobby and kept dropping offline, but was, in fairness, easily rebooted by the desk staff.

Free shuttle from airport. Single room was small but functional. Breakfast was quite good.

Furnishings were sparse and dated. No wake-up call offered nor alarm clock in room. Shower was inside the room.

Ideally situated - only about 10 minutes from Gatwick. Car parking included. Courtesy minibus arrived withing 10 minutes of phone call on our return

Good pick up service from airport

Have stayed here every year since hotel opened and have to say the bedroom we have been given the last 2 times was not good. One of the beds is only childs size and not good enough for 2 adults, especially as the price for this room was the same as for much larger rooms with bigger beds. We made this booking in December 08 and would have expected something bigger and better, especially as we are annual customers. It was not worth the rate charged!!

Location- close to airport, also close to pubs take aways, all within walking distance. Friendly helpful staff, quick transfers both ways, good value for money.

"The hotel in general is reasonably comfortable, well decorated and very clean. I would happily stay at this hotel again. However I cannot recommend the Economy / Attic bedrooms due to lack of headroom, far less headroom than expected."

BEDROOM; Attic room was very restrictive in height, unable to stand up in much of the room, unable to stand at toilet, shower very small & little or no water pressure at times, roof window blinds were ineffective. BREAKFAST; Small portions & limited choice.

Very comfortable beds and good facilities, transfer to and from airport excellent, piping hot water, good value for money paid.

Slight confusion over breakfast, cereal and toast classed as continental breakfast but I managed to persuade them otherwise.

Luckily the owner had a vacant room. Good breakfast.

The hotel had no record of our on-line booking despite us having the confirmation reference and the pin code. I will book hotels online again but I will not use Active Hotels again.

"We were met within 15 minutes of phoning for transfer from Gatwick South. The reception was excellent and though there are no restaurant facilities for an evening meal transport was offered to their sister hotel's newly opened restaurant. We were also given information of other restaurants nearby. The room was comfortable, clean and there were nice little touches such as fresh flowers on the dressing table and a box of tissues as well as all the usual toiletries. The freshly cooked breakfast was excellent as was the transfer back. We would certainly use this hotel again and have already recommended it to friends. "

the cleanliness and the helpful staff

I thought the decor was a little dated in a few rooms but we were told that they are updating the rooms as it becomes possible,all though this should not put you off as the whole building is clean and spotless

we paid for B&B but did not get the breakfast. we were told we were leaving one hour earlier than the restuarant opens, and there was no alternative given such as a breakfast box. this we found very bad and not found this in previous hotels we have stayed in. when booking the room on the internet it did not say that we would not get breakfast before 6am, we left at 5.15am.

Excellent staff. They were very helpful in assisting me with my heavy over sized luggage. Breakfast was excellent and fast.

Room at the top attic was a bit short ceiling for tall people. We kept hitting our heads. Overall the room was very cute and clean.

The loft conversion room was very small although if only staying overnight it was adequate as it had a double bed & shower although as the shower was in the room I would have preferred it in a separate room.

"Stayed here once before and property has been refurbished since last visit. They've done a good job. Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fine and staff very helpful and professional.But we didn't like the loft room. Head room not adequate when trying to prepare for a business meeting.Too hot then too cold when skylight opened. Just a personal thing but would avoid this particular room. Definately recommend this hotel though and would consider it first if further meeting required a stay by Gatwick airport."

was taken to different hotel than what we had booked with on our return from abroad we were given a bigger room and excellent evening meal and breakfast and transfer to airport only difference was the evening meal cost more than at the acorn lodge hotel but avery good choice in menu
