"place was filthy, the shower was broken hairs and dead insects everywhere, the wires on the DVD were exposed and held by sellotape, dining room still had previous days food on it, mattress left in emergency exit hall nest to our 3rd room we were allocated first was 2 single bed room second we couldn't enter overflowing bins outside for both days . I would recommend it to nobody. It should be reported to environmental health it would be closed down"

"Poor value for mmoney.wouldnt go there again if we were paid to"
Too many to mention. The room was musty and in need of redecorating. There was no catering for vegetarians and a basic commodity of "Beans" at breakfast for a vegetarian di not exist.

good room- own bathroom, double bed. 10 min walk to south beach train station. on the promenade, lots to do around. breakfast in the morning was adequate
missed my wake-up calls 2/3 nites. one morning, no one was even working reception- here's an idea: tell me no one's working at that time and you won't give me my wake up call. my days hinged on making the trains ON TIME. reception was barely ever at the desk. there was a bell there to cell them at least... oh wait, the bell didn't work.

"The two rooms we were originally allocated were damp and musty smelling. These were situated on the top floor and were awkard to reach in view of the lack of lighting in the corridor. We were not prepared to stay in these rooms and were eventually moved to new rooms on the second floor. The new rooms were adequate. We fail to see the reasoning behind placing what we now know were the hotel's only guests for the night in substandard and hard to reach rooms. If the hotel would like to gain and maintain a high standard these matters should be addressed. We do not feel we received good value for our money."
Easily accessible to the hotel where we spent the night at a Wedding Reception which is why the booking was made.

"The Glenshee is fine for a short stay and/or when you expect to spend little time in the room. It is a clean but basic hotel. The breakfast was good, with excellent service and, over all, my stay was very good value. The TV and DVD in the room are very small and basic, with only analogue channels."
Convenient for the Pleasure Beach and yet in a quiet location. Good value for low cost.
Little space in room filled by bed. No soap in shower.

"Did not realise how far away from centre of blackpool, think that could be made clearer, although given the option would still have stayed at the Glenshee, but if we had been staying any longer than two nights would have asked to change room."
Away from the hustle and bustle but easy enough to get about by bus/tram.

"Staff were helpful, hotel was clean, good area for parking.Entertainment in the bar most nights, would have liked the bar to have been non-smoking especially as it was advertised as child friendly. Really close to pleasure beach and short drive to town center. located on the quieter side of the prom but not too far away. Ideal if you have a car or use trams."
Everything we'd asked for was done, staff were helpful, hotel was clean.
Having to wait nearly an hour to check-in even though we arrived on time.

"the hotel needs a general upfreshing of its rooms, eg, new bed mattress. Information of whats on locally would have been helpfull to read in the quietness of my room. My overall assesment was one of good middle class hotel which had seen better times."

Good facilities in room and in hotel in general, pleasant staff, good service.

from Billericay United Kingdom stayed on September 2, 2004
"Having a DVD player in the bedroom was a good idea - not that we stayed in to use it! Hotel was in quite a good location - near to the Pleasure Beach which was what we wanted. The only thing that let it down was the breakfast. I was worried about parking before we got there but there was plenty of room to park. Overall the hotel was good value and the staff were friendly - we only stayed for 1 night but I would consider staying there again."
Room was a good size. Bed was really comfortable. parking was good.
Breakfast was a let down - no beans or mushrooms - plate looked half empty!

"the directions weren't very good, i would suggest finding it on a map, we only found it by coincidence. the room itself was very nice but the bathroom was clean but the cistern came off the wall slightly when it was flushed and the windowboard was loose. the staff were really polite and fast with anything you asked of them. the breakfast was nice but i would recommend having both cereal and full english if you like a good sized meal, however it did fill me. their was plenty of drink provided with the breakfast and in the room. i would stay in this hotel again, as overall it was a good experience."
staff very friendly, very nice bedroom and common area downstairs, appliances provided e.g. dvd player, hair dryer
bathroom needed some maintanence
