"Very bad hotel"
Excellent location
Room was freezing cold: there was no heating. Stayed awake all night shivering. In the morning, left before breakfast was available even though breakfast was included in the price because I couldn't stand it any longer.

"Overall the room was adequate, the location could not be better for shopping. Very expensive for the standard of the Hotel."
Very Central for shopping. Close to Mainline railway station, close to bus station.
1. room was very small. 2. there was a water tank above the room which filled continually, this was very noisy. 3. can hear the underground trains, even from the fourth floor. 4. bathroom fittings in a poor state. 5. breakfast trays not kept full. 6. Bar area right beside three toilet doors.

Great location
Took payment from my credit card for entire stay before I arrived. Constant noise from water tank. Limited TV choice interrupted by constant Sky messages. Restricted Wifi covereage.

"The hotel is in need of refurbishment, with the various items in the room looking like they had seen better days. However, the room was comfortable and at only £35 a night in central Glasgow, quite a bargain"
Friendly staff, nice breakfast, hotel was clean
Radiator in room didn't work

This is my fifth stay at Buchanan Hotel and always received excellent service. As I am growing older I find it rather difficult to use the bath and would prefer shower bath instead.

"Excellent, I will be returning in October."
Prime location in Glasgow city centre, perfect location for all public transport as well as all ammenities, leisure & social venues, excellent value for money along with a breakfast that an army could march on. I doubt you will find better valued hotel accomodation in Glasgow's city centre.
Minor point really, position of toilet in ensuite not good as you cannot sit on it squarely due to box column.

Bed was rather small!

Good location
Hotel needs a good make over, is very old and run down in rooms. There was no reccomendation on the internet as to where we could park the car or even that we could get a discount at certain car parks.

"Very helpful reception, really enjoyed having a comfortable, cool room. So many hotels are like sauna's! Exceptional value for money."
Excellent central location. Taxi rank and train station on the doorstep, nice cool room.
Bathroom design a little strange!

"Excellent value for money stay at a hotel in the centre of Glasgow. Breakfast was fantastic."
Room was comfortable and clean. Excellent breakfast.
Only a very minor niggle. hotel is a little tired, and could do with a lick of paint to bring it back to life.

"With popularity of cheap flights which arrive late and depart early in the morning, all hotels including Buchanan Hotel should reconsider their breakfast times policy. Next time I will take the flexibility into consideration."

"outraged"
i am a soldier in the british army, so didnt have any knowledgwe of the hotel before i booked it, im really sorry to say there were no good points
it was unclean, was extremely old fashioned and over priced, the pictures on the internet were lovely, the hotel was a disgrace, if i wasnt with my fiance and had no where else to go, i would have walked out the minute we got to the room, i am outraged and will never be recommending it to a single person

"Good, well priced city centre accommodation with safe, clean and secure rooms. Staff friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Location of hotel excellent."

Rooms and facilities somewhat dated, but clean and in good order.

"Budget hotel at reasonable cost for the centre of Glasgow, but the standard was poor."
Cheap for a city centre Hotel.
This hotel badly needs re furbishment. The room I had the floor sloped approximately 6 inches from one wall to the other. No heating was available other than a fan heater in the bathroom. The furniture as out dated and in poor condition. The view out of my window was a brick wall. Train noise and vibration could be heard but was not excessive. Only Multi storey parking was available and although the cost was reasonable it was some distance away and with heavy bags it would be tiring.

"even though i stayed for one night but it doesnt give me a good impression of the hotel."
the room that i stay was a double room that has a locker that is not in good condition, heater hiding behind the desk. The room was cold and not fit for cold winter. I have to park my car at the Bucanan gallery and had to carry my many luggages through the shopping mall. The hotel appears to be unattractive.

"I have used this hotel before for short breaks in Glasgow, and I will continue to use it. My friend could not join me, and I couldn't give the staff prior notice of this, but I was allowed to keep the large twin room at a reduced rate. "
Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel is ideally situated for shops/theatre, bus & railway stations. Great selection at breakfast, with real Scottish fare.
It is in a pedestrianised area, so taxi cannot take you right to the entrance of hotel.

"Good and comfortable place to stay at competetive price. "
Good administration & system in place. Hotel is clean and at the heart of the city. Front desk managers are professional. On line booking facility is one of the best things of the hotel.
Furnising needs to be upgraded. Lights need to be brighter in the rooms. TV not in proper working conditions.

"Very good for the location and price. Would recommend and stay again. Just get the breakfast better organised"
excellently situated for railway station. Despite being in city centre was quiet. Receptionist on arrival very professional/helpful
Breakfast area too small. No where to put lids of heated items. Had to attract attention of staff to ask for tea/toast/ketchup. On 2nd day of stay staff at breakfast totally overwhelmed by diners. Could not cope with numbers in the time required. Also reported a light out in my room on 1st day. expected it would be done but not so

"It was satisfactory and I didn't feel hassled by staff or guests."
Trouble-free, clean, comfortable and quiet. Slick, friendly reception. Terrific central, convenient location.
TV in room did not work. Nowadays Text is expected. It was a hot and humid time in Glasgow and the small window was unopenable. Noisy creaky floorboards in places.

"The hotel offered us a central location which was good for us and the event that we were attending."
The view in the front if the hotel is very good. The hotel is a very good central location
The state of the shower was awful and the shower area had mould growing in the grout etc. I don't expect to see that when staying in a hotel that charges
from Beckenham UK, stayed on July 28, 2008
"Looks like this hotel builds on its location, would hate to stay in there in winter as only a electric heater in room."
Good location, breakfasts were good. Room was cleaned well and bisciuts were replenished.
Room looks like it had not been decorated since the 1960's. outlook was a disused building. TV sat on a cabinet that was lop sided. Reception staff not that helpful

"I feel that tourist form elsewhere seeing this room would have a very poor impression of what Glasgow has to offer. It would not take much to clean to room thorouhly washing the paintowrk and give it a coat of paint. The enitrew hotel seemed tired and grubby. Not impreossive I'm afraid. "
check in and out was effected quickly. Breakfast was good.
lighting was poor. Paintwork around the room was dirty and tea had dripped from shelf onto wall and hadn't been cleaned off. Milk was off. Room seemed tired and desperately in need of a refresh.

old fashioned, a little shabby, needs a make-over. Although we had paid for bed and breakfast, we were unable to get a cooked breakfast as we needed it early and they were unable to deliver before half past eight.

"I would have liked it to be quieter, but the location is so central to everything that for a few days it is perfect. The cleaning staff are very obliging as are the breakfast staff and there is everything you would want for a good Scottish breakfast."
Excellent staff nothing too much trouble. Breakfast is very good.
This is the oldest hotel in Glasgow so is quirky with different sized rooms and no double glazing, so is very noisy if you are on the street side. It also has some noise from nearby tube station. My very old TV remote was broken but I did not complain as I used old fashioned buttons.
