"A very comfortable and pleasant stay."
Staff were very friendly, helpful and accomodating. My single room was very cosy, clean and warm. Lots of very hot water and a good powerful shower. Breakfast, good value for money.
Booking on-line was easy but when I wanted to alter the booking the system didn't let me despite saying you could do so. In the end I had to ring the hotel directly - they were very accomodating. The TV didn't work properly and there was no radio. Also, it was difficult to work out how to get the alarm clock to work.

"A pleasant hotel for price of room. Spoilt only by check-out. Had to leave early and attendant on desk didn't know how to go through the check-out procedure. Training will surely resolve. All staff very curteous and polite so a bonus."

good location, away from all the noisy bars but within walking distance to go drinking at night.
rooms could have done with some redecoration. TV remote control didn't work and was never sorted while we were there. double parking in the car park was an issue on 2 occasions but sorted quickily by the staff!

Great location - round the corner from the bars, so noise was never an issue. Parking was a bonus
Room was very small for the price, although there is a premium for Jesmond. Check in attendent was not much use and in fact did not even check us in on the computer system - bit of a worry in event of emergency etc.. All was sorted by a different and very pleasant member of staff upon departure, however.

"Overall, the hotel was OK and convenient for reaching my daughter's student house. Stairs decorations were a bit tired and the glass tumbler in bathroom was not very pleasant. On the plus side, the staff were excellent , friendly and helpful. The food was also very good. I'm sure I probably had an off-day room valet."

"Whilst the room was generally good, as is expected at a Best Western Hotel the performance of some of the staff was poor, particularly bar and restaurant staff. Menu is unimaginative and bland and contains too many similar dishes. Food quality was generally poor. The house 'dry' white wine was medium and warm! Hotel probably ok for stays of one night, if you are going to dine somewhere else."

The fire alarm went off due to a malfunction at 8am on the Sunday morning! Not good for a hangover. And the walls are quite thin so we could hear people in adjacent rooms.

"When I was trying to book hotels on line it would have helped if I had known how far it was from the Arena, as that was where I was going at night. Some hotels gave miles to attractions but the Arena did not appear to be one of them. However it did not spoil my time as the friendly reception staff booked a taxi on my behalf."
